Halloween went great. Max and his friends made off with a good haul of treats this year. Max's science lab partner, who had tried to bully Max in the past, turned over a new leaf and was allowed to join their group. Max and Michael were dressed as Morpheus and Neo from The Matrix. The 'new kid' asked if he could dress up as Agent Smith, to which Max and Michael both agreed, surprisingly.
Hmmm....it could be too early to tell, but I wonder if Michael might be starting to thaw. 🤞
Actually, Michigan has eight species of crawfish, two of which are invasive. We don't really seem to do anything with them, though. *shrugs*
When I was a kid, I remember visiting an inland lake that was positively teeming with them. I realized that they like to hide under old freshwater clam shells, so I set up a bunch of the shells as "traps" to catch them. I had quite a few in my bucket, but was forced to release them afterwards.
Gawd dammit, Max.
One day, this kid's antics will be the death of me, I just know it. His latest food request: Mala Xiaolongxia. (That's pronounced Mah-Lah Shao-long-Shah, if anyone is struggling) It's a Sichuan Chinese dish, and the name translates as "Numbing-Spicy Little Lobsters", AKA crawfish.
My lemon tree isn't doing so well. It's nearly two years old at this point, and I don't think it'll survive to see a third year. Some sort of pest has been eating the leaves.
@clochette Did you know that Stockholm, Sweden has a hotel that caters to sourdough starters? If a baker has to travel internationally, he can leave his bread dough at a special facility in Stockholm's airport. Staff will care for the bread dough until the baker returns to take it home.
Yup, Spikey got it! Sorry, Nick, but Max decided to dress up as Morpheus from The Matrix trilogy. (With a Bald Cap to conceal his hair, and some of Aunt Deirdre's concealer to hide the freckles on his face)
Regarding bear encounters in the wild, here's a helpful mnemonic: "If it's brown, lay down. If it's black, fight back. If it's white, say good night."
A good week to you and Tim, as well!
