My newest laptop also has Windows 11.

Nope, never got an update. I did get a message at the startup, saying that "As of June XX, 20XX, devices running Windows 8.1 will no longer receive updates or tech support. We recommend switching to a device running Windows 10 or newer." Or something like that. It was quite a while ago, now, so I can't remember precisely what it said. 🤷♂️

So sorry, buddy. I have a laptop that runs on Windows 8.1. It's still technically still functional, but it has no updates or tech support available. And I don't even want to think about the antivirus protection (or rather, the lack thereof).
