Derek's reaction to Will wanting to help also surprised me. I can understand it to an extent. I can see how he would lose faith in well-wishers that say they want to help and then after a few days/weeks/months decide that the kids at the shelter are too much to handle and abandon them. I'm sure he's seen his fair share of those. But he has to know that Will is different. He was unusually harsh towards Will out of nowhere. But, on the other hand, I think Will is being butt-hurt and making too big a deal over the whole situation. If he had said something right then to Derek like "Why don't you give me a chance?" or "Please let me help where I can." Anything to try to let Derek see how much he hurt Will, things would be different. I'm not even sure Derek realizes how pissed off Will is. From Derek's perception, it has to look like Will's being a dick to him out of nowhere.

I don't see how Jason wanting to go to summer school and trying to catch up and continuing on to his senior year would jeopardize his place at the shelter. I would think Derek would support that.
