  1. Words definitely are 'pesky critters'. They certainly know when you're looking for them ... and then they have the gall to resurface just when it suits them. Glad you enjoyed them all.
  2. I had great fun writing the Absurdities - writing nonsense which makes sense (sort of). Thanks, Lyssa.
  3. I'm happy I helped cheer you up, dugh.
  4. I'm glad you enjoyed them. I'd had the idea of writing about silence for some time - finally bore fruit.
  5. Thanks, Val. It felt really good to be writing verse again. I had great fun writing the Absurdities; as for the sonnet idea - taken straight from Parker.
  6. Which, of course, is what I did ... *sighs* Still, I imagine you've produced more than anyone else. How you manage it, is a mystery.
  7. Just a few to scroll through then ...

    NaPoWriMo Dabblings

Silence is golden? Silence fills my head with noise a-plenty Silence is sound's temporary absence Silence allows my voice to be heard Silence is violence barely constrained Silence calms my mind and spirit Silence is life’s passions spent Silence gives my words flight Silence is accusation and unfair verdict Silence frees my imagination sans constraint Silence is dull and monotonous Silence gives my senses rest Silence is loneliness and neglect Silence welcomes all m

    Sat Down

So, suddenly some of the dots are joined but many more have appeared that haven't been visible before. Scott has a full name now but how long before he has to change it again to avoid retribution? Just being with the police will have been enough to put him on a hitlist ...

    Questions

Thanks, Def. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes, Geoff and his mum need to talk properly, soon.

    Questions

Thanks, dugh! As for further installments, depends on which prompts catch my eye.

    Questions

Yes, I think Tony probably has the upper hand in most discussions in that household. Thanks for reading.

    Questions

Thanks, Gary - your praise makes me As for the improvement, there's about 60k words yet to see the light of day. I'd be disappointed if I hadn't improved, given that amount of practice. I like both of them, as well. Is there more to tell? Probably.

    Questions

I'm not sure that Geoff's mother is intuitive - she relies on the judgement of her friends for the analysis of Geoff's behaviour. Yes, Tony has his head screwed on rather better than Geoff's. Thanks for reading.

    Questions

Thank you, my friend. Yes, I had particular fun writing for Tony ... As for your request - well, I suspect you may hear about it but after the fact, maybe?
  16. @dughlas I'm glad you enjoyed this. It was such fun to write - perhaps a little self-indulgent ... ? Still ...

    Questions

Prompt 500 What took you so long? Geoff sighed while holding the phone against his shoulder so his mother couldn't hear. Why it had taken 'so long' for him to answer – as his mother termed it – was because he had to extricate himself from Tony's embrace, launch himself out of the sofa towards the table at the other end of the room, and grab the landline phone before the answerphone cut in. “Mum, you ask this every time.” Doesn't seem to make any difference, does i
  18. I really like Herreweghe's way of performing Bach. I still have numerous CDs of his cantata performances. @J.HunterDunn I agree about the time needed to load the entries. My old tablet baulked at loading so many videos - processing problems rather than internet speed, in my case.
  19. To Emperor Drew Or, is it Dictator Drew? Either way, a very happy Birthday! πππ πππ πππ πππ πππ πππ
  20. I've been in the habit of regularly deleting individual photos from an album. Given the number I upload, I have to. Today, for the first time since we've updated, I went looking for the delete button and there isn't one. There is for the whole album but not for single photos. Am I missing something obvious?
  21. Dugh, I could have sworn I'd replied to this comment. Sorry! Thank you for your praise and I'm pleased you enjoyed it.

    If I were gone...

Yes, indeed. One of my thoughts following the news about Skinny was "would I ever know what had happened" if, like you say, suddenly somebody's there one day and not the next, and never resurfaces.

    Collared

I've been rather lax in doing comments for this story - sorry! My jaundiced feeling was that it was going along far too well and Scott couldn't possibly expect to shed his past with such ease. Not that I wish him any harm, but still ... I feel for Graham who's presumably going to end up back at the dock, to find Scott vanished. As Jay T says, you've been doing your cliffhanger act again. Next week had better hurry up, is all I can say.
  24. I seem to be reading stories about people who eat deserts ... and who also wear cloths ... *Sigh*

    Seth's Dilemma

Yes, indeed. You rather left us hanging. Glad to see there's another installment. I'm off to read it and see if any of my questions are answered.
