Good! I'm glad they work for the non-musician as well. Thanks, Tim.

    Threatened

Praise, another job with money, and his shipmates looking out for him ... Things in one direction are improving. One of the dubious pleasures of the internet is not knowing who will see what - as our hero is re-discovering. Hmmm ... feeling sorry for him, again.
  3. Your rant isn't pathetic - far from it. Everyone needs to let off steam - why should you be an exception? Sunshine heals many things.

    Sounds

Parker Owens caused me to be created don't breathe waiting intensely while the silence echoes until the moment for applause erupts ~~~ counting always watching now preparing, then one glorious sound triumphantly bursts forth, golden shimmering perfection dying slowly away until nothing remains but breath ~~~ losing concentration mind wandering, eyes turning inward, ears hear without listening until lazy dull senses are snared, firing up, alert, 'Where are we? There, I think. That's

    Story

Thanks for a great holiday read. I really enjoyed it and loved the mutt - he was an important third character in their relationship.

    Story

A very enjoyable and sexy read for Boxing day. I like reading about unconventional relationships as long as they are consensual and reasonably equal. This story ticked all the boxes.
  8. Poor glittery. I've had Christmases where I've forgotten presents (500 mile round trip) and others where my brothers haven't talked to each other and I got duplicates ... Your hubby will appreciate his present the more in January.
  9. Happy Birthday, tim! I hope you have twice the presents! Best wishes, Anne

What a lovely, heart-warming story to start off Christmas Eve with. Thanks, tim!

    Story

I had to read the ending several times to make sure I'd got it right. So many twists and turns in one short story.

    Story

What a fantastic treat. It made me tear up, smile and laugh - all within the space of what? 15 minutes? Not bad going ... And. of course Santa Claus exists ...
  13. Happy Birthday, Talonrider!
  14. Ahh ... All yours are very much still in progress.
  15. Indeed. Makes for an interesting combination. A piece of pure fun.
  16. I'm only just discovering what you describe and you do describe it so well. Thank you for giving your (our?) labours such wonderful, descriptive words.
  17. Yes, where to next? I like the idea of a surrealist prison. Thank you for your generous praise and I'm happy you enjoyed it.
  18. Thanks, Gary. It is a piece of fun which I'm glad you enjoyed. If you liked David, I'd be really concerned ...
  19. Prompt 511 The neighborhood has gone strangely quiet since the new neighbors moved in down the street. Even the nosey lady across the street has stopped talking and seems to keep her blinds closed now. You have no idea why everyone is acting so odd ‘til you meet the neighbors child. What is so odd about this child? “Turn up the density on the outside feed.” He was intrigued by something which had caught his eye. What was going on? Something strange was happening outside in t

    Wanted

Came across it by accident. Loved it! What a wonderful combination. Thanks, tim.
  21. Having read this, I'm glad I seem to be heading in the right direction. I'm currently working on my first multi-part story and I know in general terms how it's going to end. I also know the main turning points so I hope (fingers crossed!) that I will be able to write and finish the story to my editor / beta reader's satisfaction.
  22. You lost me by the fourth paragraph or so. Which was exactly what I expected. Some other clever, numerate people will doubtless follow you right through. *Sigh*

    New Environment

The sharp left turn this story has taken somewhat startled me (like TP, only maybe his suprise is going to be longer lasting. Or is it?). As someone has commented, letting him loose in an environment like that could be asking for trouble. Sharing a cabin with one other lad ...? Roll on next Thursday ...

    Aquinas Frets

Oh, the restless self-analysis ... You depict it perfectly. I really like these two - imperfect in many ways and all the more likeable for it.
  25. Thanks, dugh. I'm glad you found it both interesting and enjoyable.
