To forgive and forget something that has hurt you deeply. You might think the forgiveness would be the difficult bit but I don't think it is. The forgetting is - either as in forgetting completely, or, at least, rendering the pain in the thought into something different. Bitterness can stay on as an aftertaste for a long time.

Your heartfelt rant will find supporters in anyone who's been at the mercy of the system - transport, healthcare ... And it so often seems to happen when you have to be somewhere - it's not a situation where you can just turn round and go back home. Frustration, anxiety, anger all make for a toxic mix, and it's a credit to most people that, like you, they continue to restrain themselves. Except, I can imagine your pencil digging into the paper ... -

I'm very pleased to read your positivity - it marks a real improvement in you. Self-reliance needed to solve your problems? Yes, I know that very well. Two excellent poems. Fighting giants and Captain Hooks - this made me grin. Sleeplessness is awful, so I'm not surprised by the satisfaction expressed in your first line, A damn good sleep. -

All these poems are such glorious lessons in wordcraft, quite apart from anything else. Here, the juxtaposition of again and impossibly, the pairing of insatiable and unquenchable. And the whole poem radiates passion and desire.

This is one of the stories that made me join GA so that I could 'like', if not actually comment, on the wonderful, absorbing writing. This novel is a journey of discovery for its characters and readers alike. At times, it is a difficult read but that is because the author believes in portraying the truth, and sometimes life is painful and distressing. These episodes often result in tears but they are more than offset by the joy, laughter, kindness, healing and love offered to the hero, and so, to the reader. The author's fundamental belief in the goodness that most of humanity harbours, shines through this amazing, thought-provoking, touching, and above all, gripping novel. One to be read and re-read many times.

I remember when I first joined GA, creeping in, hoping nobody would notice me. Now, I am hugely grateful for what goes on here. While I'm still not the most talkative of people, it doesn't mean I don't appreciate the conversations and interactions. Thanks, Gary, for putting into words so much of what I feel.

One whole bloody hour! That's how long he'd been waiting in the resort's reception area. As his holiday mood wore off, the demon found his surroundings were no longer cool, calm and relaxing. More like cold, clammy, dark, and bloody irritating. How difficult could it be to arrange transportation for one single guest?
