    Seventh Wonder

Yes, in a way, it's a skeleton you can flesh out with your own experience or fantasies...

    Seventh Wonder

1 six-pack. Not mine. Ever. 2 perfect arse cheeks. I wish. 3 failed diets. Yep, flab – that’s me. 4 fluent languages. One. Maybe two soon. I’m improving. 5 courses. Couldn’t swallow any. 6 seconds to answer a question. Utter disbelief. 7 rubies in our rings. Mine and his.
  3. I loved The back field. I too get pleasure peering at whatever's in the lawn that isn't grass. What the neighbour's think, I don't know. I know your faun. And as ever, you bring everything back to love, and wonderment, and nature.

    Ups and Downs

They are. And others in society assume they're OK. The last few months have seen a change. Will it last?

    Chapter 1

Great to have you back, Sam. I too have known the 'You on for a gig tonight?' kind of phone call.
  6. Happy Birthday! Have a great day. (paper of course...)
  7. A double rhyming scheme which changes half way through each stanza? Show off. You have achieved an intriguing, fascinating mix of the Jacobean and today. Bravo.
  8. Not a single Promising update. Not one. 😮 Oh well. Hope someone else has a chapter up their sleeve for next week, cos I don't.
  9. Horrifying, but all too familiar. The UK is far from perfect when it comes to POC; I know I am, though I strive to improve. The US though, seems stuck in a jaw-droppingly awful groundhog day. I can't imagine how POC feel in America's cities with police forces who seem to delight in using force well beyond any boundary. It's unlikely to change while rule-by-Tweet continues.
  10. Change is such a constant part of life that often you don't notice until looking back. Then the picture is so altered, it's difficult to believe. Instructions for some funerals are that they be a celebration of a person's life. It's easy to see why.

    Simplicity

Chores don't set the world on fire but they can comfort, give purpose to the day, and allow time for unstructured thought. All these things are important. As are you, and all of us. ❤️
  12. Hi, Talo. As this thread is logged as being answered (green tick further up), it might be best to start a new thread.

    The Tale

Err... I'll let @Parker Owens answer that one.

    Taking a Hit

No, indeed. I have little doubt he'll pick himself up and get on with life.

    All On Board

It was described elsewhere as 'if the barnyard had a drag bar'. Yep, I think that pretty much sums it up.

    All On Board

Not quite... a poetry prompt asked for internal rhyme. I sat down and thought of a series of words with plenty of soundalikes. So a goat on a boat was born.

    All On Board

Though maybe I shouldn't give you such an insight into what goes on inside my head. 🤔

    All On Board

Thanks, Val. Brightening up the start of lockdown when I couldn't focus on anything else.

    All On Board

Pink, out, and proud, a spry, thirsty goat boards a boat on the Ouse. He critiques a green cat with a bow and two winks while quaffing a litre of booze. The red-chequered cow recites verse from the prow sans rhythm, or metre, or verve. Why all those boos, shriek gulls in old erse as they swerve to converse with nine tups. One keen-faced, bold sow culls her twinks in a row, then sups on some stout-flavoured chine. With wine on their jaws, oodles of blue-carapaced, quarrelsome poodles reverse in f
  20. We all have to get through this any way we can. A bad day can always be followed by a better one. That's something to hang on to.

Yay! And I'm so pleased you felt pulled in both directions. That's what I aimed for.

You should know by now it's a complete mixture of stuff. Short, but not necessarily easy.

    Therapy

Five percent of respondents to the National LGBT Survey had been offered so called ‘conversion’ or ‘reparative’ therapy Manchester’s fab. You said it would be wet all the time. There hasn’t been any rain here for a week. Maybe it’s my new sunny disposition? Your friends from church turned out to be very busy. Fortunately another family nearby stepped in - they offer courses too. You don’t know them. They’re good Christians though. We pray together a lot - you should approve of that. They’re
