Ok--the first murder attempt failed--There may be others. --He is not going to get the prize without enemies wanting him gone or dead or maybe captured and placed far away and missing in a secret prison-like the czars of old. Vanus is going to have fame and fortune and a demon protector. Vanus is not subject to bribes. I can think of some suggested new steps by his enemies. The obvious choice to control him or use him is to kidnap Jill to hold her safety over Vanus. Or, his enemy or enemies can introduce exciting, appealing sexual partners to fill him with wrong ideas and do whatever is needed to please him . They want to find him a marriage partner they control. The enemy sponsored one who marries him can inherit the estate when Vanus is killed.

Wow--what a shocking set of events-- Vanus's Uncle Charlie appears as if alive again and gives Vanus the shaft of power and symbolism belonging to the head of the family, Vanus is fully scared facing and unknown force inside his mansion who becomes immersed in a seemingly fight to the death against a behemoth monster who turns out to be a demon. The demon thinks Vanus is Henry, another uncle, who put the demon in a box and tormented him. The demon is seeking retribution. However , Henry was exiled from the family and is presumed dead now. The demon does not accept that Vanus is not Henry until Mr. Fritz arrives and points out the close resemblance Vanus has to his mother. He apologizes and asks Vanus to kill him, the guardian of the patriarch. The demon almost killed the one he is dedicated to protecting. Vanus refuses to kill him and wants him to take up his security role. So, Vanus was set up to be killed by a vengeful demon. Someone next door to Vanus's bedroom was making noise that woke Vanus up late at night. It appears they wanted to find and open a box to release the killer demon or at least make it possible soon and then run away first so the demon who not attack them . The person could hope the demon would look for Vanus right away before midnight. However, the bad guy waited too long to act or could not find the box in time. Vanus was able to be given the protecting staff at midnight before the demon could attack him. The two most obvious suspects are Henry who may not be dead and Julian who wants to be the patriarch and deny Vanus his rightful claim. And it is just after midnight--what terrible things will happen later in the day?

The visitors from Italy left with good feelings all around. Colin and Armand will return later to Italy to see them. Colin and Armand like having Thomas stay over during the weekend. No one, I think, has yet mentioned JJ's trauma from being sexually abused by an older man who controlled him as his skating teacher. JJ thought the man loved him and they were acting appropriately. This is one more reason JJ could be emotionally stunted and not able to have healthy relationships. His other mental health issues might cover up the impact of his sexual trauma which could be long lasting,

BTW, Cam Squires has taken over Will's body and mind and he has not thought about Zach. The wake-up sex time and any breakfast conversation should be revealing and fun. I remember from a past discussion about JJ in this series that Sussanah was thought of as a gold digger who saw JJ as her refuge and benefactor. I assume Jonathan has a trust fund set up early and maybe at birth. It is what very wealthy people to for their family members from the start to handle money and end conflict.
