Chapter 108 A Spiritual Guide
Sweetlion commented on Dodger's story chapter in Chapter 108 A Spiritual Guide
I'm actually happy that Robbie didn't follow Nicola's advice, after what he went through, even if he just faked it and doesn't "convert", it would probably be very heavy to him. What he needs is getting more "smart/intelligent" and less impulsive, he is quite immature, even for his age, specially after what he lived already. He just have recorded all his session with this new creepy guy, so he can protect himself and share them with Andrews and Walter if needed. Even with his sister, I wonder what would happen, while it's just Robbie with bad behavior Don and Sue have an excuse, but an open "rebellion" from all their kids would scare them, so nice it would suggest something is wrong with them, and they only care with what other people think. And he is alone at home, I would investigate the house very carefully, including the creepy office. PS: I think Don surprise will be a fake or true but out of context msg from Robbie's mother to try and make Robbie feel bad. Hope he doesn't let him f*** with his head. -
Awesome chapter! And poor Daniel, they almost broke him too, like his mother. I think the fear of becoming like her is the only thing protecting some of his self esteem from broking completely. He said he trusts Michael, hope he really believes that and ask for help with Loz.

Hope things start to get better for Daniel.

Interesting start. I'm guessing off course, but I get the feeling that something along the lines of Joe outing his brother (mathe not with malice in mind) to parental units following by they disowning Josh would explain why Joe has a car and feels bad that he is responsible for Josh working so hard. Josh is right to be careful, and need time off, I'm just afraid that for one something bad happens if he goes to NY, and two that by missing another week with his aunt he starts to alienate his family support. Will see in the next chapters PS: @KD_stories any news of your other stories, I was following the starring over one 😀

Sorry, from 2 chapters ago: "“Where’d you get this stuff?” I asked a smug looking Shane. He’d rounded up an ugly, plaid, short-sleeved, button shirt; pleated khaki shorts that were way too long; striped diabetic looking socks that covered my calves; beige Rockport walking shoes; thick, non-prescription glasses that were gawdy and ugly; and a stupid pocket protector with three pens. “My grandpa,” Shane proudly smiled at my misery. “Thomas?” I was surprised his grandpa had gone for it. I’d thought we were friends! He nodded." Unless Shane lied, which was strange since we don't know the reason (I am not trying to be annoying, I actually like how you right so I have been paying attention )

Interesting, Thomas says he hadn't talked to Shane since the house party, but I thought Shane had gotten those old man clothes he forced Donovan to wear from his grandfather. Did he do some breaking and entering? I wonder what Thomas will talk to Shane, since from his talks with Donovan before Knowing he was dating Shane, he probably knows/guessed/suspects that Shane had that episode of sexual abuse.

yeah, I want a happy ending, truly do, but to me this chapter sounded to forced. I get that most people just like the victims of a situation if they look like saints, we see that everyday in real life, but guess what, even assholes or people that are not that good can be right sometimes, and be victims of the situations. True, Donovan has some character flaws, and I am not saying Shane is the devils incarnate. But since the morning when Shane left Donovan house that Donovan has been ignored, hurt and demeaned by Shane and friends. It's like everyone is looking for a quick fix, but to me things don't add up if one reads it carefully. It would feel more fluid and real if they had spent, I don't know, a couple of years to grow up. I understand making mistakes in a moment of pressure, like the stupid tight ass comment, but for some errors Shane had a lot of time to think about it. From the first bar night, where he didn't tell Davis was coming (they messaged during that week, or at least Donovan tried to, so he chose not to tell his boyfriend that he was coming with someone that from Shane POV chapters we know he knew was gay and into him), to not saying anything to Davis (not saying anything to one comment could be a way to shut him down, but ignoring someone trash-talk your bf/friend the whole night it's not shutting him down), than choosing an embarrassing and uncomfortable costume for Donovan when all the others were having fun, and finally by having Davis appear in the bar without warning, the guy he knew had humiliated Donovan. Sure Donovan can behave arrogantly from his high horse, and maybe he would have ruin his relationship with Shane, but that is no excuse for any of the situations Shane put him through. On the other hand Nick was right, and Donovan only had sex with them because he wanted to, so he should live up to it, even if he things it was a mistake (yes, I also criticize Donovan when he is wrong 😄). However Nick is wrong by saying by saying that Donovan took advantage of Nelly, specially if they were awake, even if Nelly likes Donovan, they knew his friends was hurting, so lets say they all made a mistake. Now let read the next chapter 😁

700 strikes against Shane
Sweetlion commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in 700 strikes against Shane
Really? Donovan feel shitty? Can we recapitulate what happened, again? So while everyone played around and choose clothes the people wearing it would like, Shane decided to make Donovan feel uncomfortable and self-conscious. Then he now's in advance that the guy that spent a night bad-mouthing Shane is going to appear n the club, he has time to arrange for a fake bf, but her is so stupid as to not let Donovan know? Did he think that Donovan would like to meet Davis again, after what he did, andd specially dressed like he was? It seems that Shane really wants to destroy Gordy self esteem and having him feel shitty all the time. And after finding that Donovan know what he said the last time they were in the bar, instead of saying something like " I'm sorry, I was jealous, you know at the time I was crushing on you", which Donovan would probably have accepted, he just blows out? Everytime I think we will mature and learn, Shane disappoints. Donovan should cut the Daks from his life, this encounters will make him have a mental breakdown. PS: did Shane ever heard about sexually harassment in the work place. He has the contract already, just say to Davis, black in white, that he is not interested. Please, grow some balls Shane... Edit too ADD PS2: forgot to say, again his DAK "friends" either have the brains of a concrete wall or are completely dismissive of other people's feelings. We know that Shane is a coward idiot with balls (too much?), but none of the others that new his plan and that Davis was coming was capable of thinking that that wouldn't be a good idea? They might be nice to talk, but not really worthy the effort of being friends, Donovan and the rest of the DONNAS should run and find other people.- 33 comments

Hi everyone. When thinking about private detectives, most would think of the eternal Sherlock Holmes, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, or the brilliant Hercule Poirot, by Agatha Agatha Christie. I want to share with you one of my favourite detectives. Again, this suggestion is not a book, but a whole series of novellas and short stories. This time the character is not LGBT, but it’s an odd character indeed. What’s not to like in a misogynist man that thinks most women are hysterical, lives by a very strict schedule that has him spending 4 hours a day with is orchids (2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon), drinks beer religiously every day, and behaves as if high quality food was the only reason for living? Did I say that he hates to work and almost never leaves his brownstone house in New York, that he shares with 3 other males, his assistant investigator (that actually do the leg work), his gardener and his chef? He is Nero Wolfe, first published in 1934 by Rex Stout. There are more than 30 books, so today I am not recommending a particular on since I haven’t read them all, but I found delicious the several stories I read, in that half-depressed, half-stunning environment of the 30s. If you like XX century detective’s stories, you should try. PS: There are some movies, old radio, and TV shows as well, and after Rex Stout’s death, he authorized the continuation of the Nero Wolfe series. Can’t recommend though, since I have not read any yet.

Northern Exposure: General Discussion
Sweetlion replied to Mark Arbour's topic in Mark Arbour Fan Club's Topics
Was reading the last book when George and Caroline talk about previous members of George's crew and realize that while he is young, since he started young and had a meteoric ascend, George has already a considerable number of followers with ships, between frigates and small sloops. Calvert, Roberts, Brookstone, Clifton, and don't remember if Fitzwilliams has a small ship already, not counting Lennox as a flag officer. Since he his a frigate captain at heart, his dream is probably command a small frigate squadron with his friends, like Captains Pellew and Smith did. He talked about how well Nelson trained his captains, but his old lieutenants know him so well that imagine what kind of havoc they would inflict on Spanish and French if they actually were to sail together -

Hi, anyone knows if Mark as set a tentative schedule for this book? I notice that in previous books he was said when they were being posted, like once a week, or once a month... -
The one regret that changed everything -Shane
Sweetlion commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in The one regret that changed everything -Shane
So, did Donovan knew Davis from the hospital? I guess he could not know him, since Davis is more business stuff, but Nick said that Davis had been in the pediatric oncology unit already. I know you gave us more excuses for his behavior, but I'm still displeased with Shane's actions (and friends). He decides to "whoring" out to get a job, I know it's no action, but still, letting a guy obviously flirt with you, without advising his boyfriend was bound to end badly. And he, and is friends, hear a "stranger" badmouth and demean their boyfriend/friends and just laughed it of as a clueless guy, instead of defending them? I don't think Donovan and the DONNAS need friends like that, not only Shane (because he is an idiot), but all of them. I keep thinking what if their were a straight couple, would people be less inclined to forgive Shane for not defending his wife or girlfriend? Imagine someone implies that she was trash or slut, would it be ok to just shrug it of? Well, maybe they will talk sometime.- 33 comments

I remember a while ago George making a joke with Caroline that they should get together with Calvert. If she was curious she should take advantage of it, aren't George and Francis supposed to be some of the handsomest? They might have to add Gatling now (don't know his first name)
