I just finished reading the whole Bridgemont series, and I am loving it. It will be interesting to see George interactions in the northern courts, he does have a charm about him that might help the situation. (Maybe not a relationship as good as with Spain, unless he starts some fun with a Grace or Royal Highness as well ). I am glad he repaired his relationship with Caroline, although her explanations were not very clear, I got the curiosity and the irritation on having to work always behind the scenes, but not exactly why she had to have sex with them or wanted to blackmail Cavendish. Anyway they are a good team. I am also happy that he is on good terms with Calvert, I know some don't like him very much, but Calvert is probably the best of George lovers. The times they "lived" together on Intrepid and Bacchante were the ones George seemed happier and balanced.

Great chapter! The empire is similar to the east empires of China and Japan, and also the Ottoman empire, when there are concubines and imperial consorts. And now Midori can take a bit of time to solve Fier's problems, and then find a good governor to administer in his name and come back to the capital... Although the problem of maintaining Fier's heirs exist, similar to the empire it self. Maybe he will get a concubine for that as well. I would go for Pipa for him, it's less power than imperial consort, but Dwind deserve recognition and Terra is very powerful already.

It comes with several years of delay, but as Portuguese, unless I am wrong with late 18th century Portuguese (which sometimes have some different words closer to Spanish), the name of the Portugese major would be Fernandes (or ending in a z, not sure about that in that time), and not Hernandez. On the other hand, the slow pace that would be a mix of Portuguese and African identities was described perfectly, and made me smile.

Glad to see that at least Jeff is man enough to admit that being homosexual is not a choice that David and Simon would willingly make. He did however hit the bottom with the alcohol, he lost some family members and has to admit to himself that he can't do it alone. I don't know if Simon works, but Suzie and David do, so between them they might have some money to help if Jeff hadn't been too proud to admit there was a problem. Where are David and Simon? Will they be the ones taking are of Jeff now? I imagine that Suzie will either come home or stay with the boyfriend, Todd can't house them all.

Ah, now we know why Declan is Lee best friend. That energy! 😀

It was the parents best idea, to bring Eli to visit... He had so many problems that he immediately sees through Riley's bullshit, and helps him deal with his feelings. I actually hope there isn't more drama around Trey, and that the problem is internal to Riley, that he will have to deal with. Slowly he is healing.

Great ending. Making some peace with Eric helped, but even with his own faults, I would still have a problem with seeing him in family stuff, particularly with the new lover. How can Brian not see them on his bed every time he seee them together? Still, Timothy was a sweetheart.
