If the boys agree to Jake photographing and painting them, how they are going to explain their sudden wealth to their parents? As was said $50 was a lot of money back in 1975.
Maybe Jake was planning ahead in removing Nate's shorts from the bonnet of the van? Nate won't want to come busting in on them in the nude, so there is bound to be some noise when he can't find them. But, having said that, I don't have the feeling Jake is that devious.
Danny & Nate's explanation for the appearance of Jake is a good piece of invention at first sight. However, it can only be effective for a limited period if Jake is supposed to be 'working up and down the coast'. It is, after all, only a small town and any writer would have found out enough about it in a few days and then move on to the next town. I think you need a Plan B boys.
Based on what she said at the funeral 'She looked at us, “Please take care of him. He’s a good boy.”', I can't see how it can be bad tidings. That line rather rules out the thought that she might be thinking of trying to get custody.
Thank you for commenting. I'm pleased to know you enjoyed reading the story.
i don't have any plans for further stories about Tris & Ty, but i do have other stories you could try...🙂
Ty's mom wasn't happy about his choice of clothes, or the lack thereof, for the first meeting with the new neighbors.
Ty had accompanied her in hope rather than expectation, but if you've got it, why not flaunt it?
Thanks @Cane23 . Glad you enjoyed.
CP definitely still occurs in Texas schools. It also definitely did occur in South African private schools and may still do. I don't think I was that specific about the time period for this story.
All the World's a Stage
(King Dick III)
'A horse! a horse! my kingdom for a horse!' It's one of Shakespeare's most famous lines and I'm going to get to say it live on stage in front of an audience! Not once, but twice, as the school play is having two performances on Friday and Saturday nights.
Maybe it isn't his most famous line – after all it isn't one you can drop into everyday conversation. Come to that, not many of them are. 'Friends, Romans, Countrymen'; 'Now
Thirteen year old Tristram was born and has spent all his life in South Africa until the point at which the family moved to Texas. On the day they move into their new house he discovers there is a boy of his own age, Tyler, living next door...
The ultimate test to show if your words really do have meaning or are simply hollow noises.
Jem having already sacrificed his life to save Nico in the Marksman game it should not come as to much of a surprise he'd have the same instinct in a real life situation.
