I doubt Mr Vincent's army runs to thousands, @drsawzall although they'd almost certainly be armed with something better than spears. 🙂 Brady's come a long way in a short ime.

I struggled with this chapter. I found it hard to believe that, Nick's mom, a highly intelligent woman, would invite Tommy to come round on their first full day at home. Not content with that, when it is evident that things between the boys are not going well, she compounds her error by inviting him for a sleepover! Really?

I wrote a story in response to this prompt, but it was nowhere near as long or as good as this. An excellent evocation of a long summer's childhood.
