Time will tell, although I suspect not unless he pushes things.

I have absolutely no objections to your rant, Gary.

    Chapter 9

He also stood up to Enzo & Filippo, so it was a really big day for Michele. Will it all be plain sailing from now on, or may they again need Isabella's help to steer them to a safe port?

Indeed so. Rather like giving him the finger, but without the consequences that would result from doing so.

Yes, trouble could lie ahead for them.

Well, at least the story didn't send you to sleep!😀
  8. We had our usual snack and chat with my mom before heading upstairs. I locked the door behind us. “Are you willing to show me your butt?” He turned his back toward me. “Funny, Wayne, but I meant your naked butt – as you well know.” “I know. Just trying to lighten the mood.” I heard him unbuckle his belt and the zip pulled down before his hands went to his sides and the jeans and boxers he was wearing were pushed down. The t-shirt he was wearing was long, for reasons it was easy to und

Appreciate the comments and thoughts. However, the story is not set as far back as pre Civil Rights days because Ethan was using a computer and searching the Internet. Equally, it is not set in current times, hence no cell phones etc. Even now though cp does exist in some schools in parts of Texas and other states.

Agree with what you sat about the first nations people @Bushman60. Glad you are enjoying the story.

    Chapter 1

Wow! Quite a spooky tale, but very well written and full of a chilling sense of the untoward. The mention of taking the radio batteries to be re-charged, brough back a long forgotten memory. When I was but a lad one of my jobs was to take the accumulator from my gran's radio to the local electrical shop where it would be exchanged for the one from the previous week which had been re-charged. Those were the days.🙂 '

That was why it was so important that none of them were captured by the Japanese. As for the 'spanky', it somehow fitted with the prompt. 🙂

Not sure what country you come from, but I can assure you that cp is still happening in several states of the US. As for the teachers, as far as we know only one of them is wielding a paddle. But I'm glad to see you are upset at the treatment Wayne has suffered.

California and (parts of) Texas are a bit like chalk and cheese in that respect. As for the Windtalkers it does seem that their contrbution was significant.

I suspect the term 'Windtalkers' only came into usage after the film of that name appeared, so as this story predates that, it is an error on my part to use it here. I can go with the baked potato, but is asparagus that common?

Indeed he has. As for the teacher, we can but hope.

    Chapter 8

From what has been revealed in the flashback, Michele does indeed face problems at home should he decide he does indeed want to be with Toto. Salvatore appears to have accepted the inevitable about his son, but for Davide & Chiara... I suppose this is one of the unexpected problems that can arise for parents who have only one son.
  19. It was thus after school on Thursday when we next cycled home together. Although I'd seen Wayne for lunch he hadn't said very much other than that his granpaw had said something interesting and he was going to spend his free period that afternoon in the library to see if he could find out anything more. I'm sure the librarian had a considerable shock on seeing Wayne and actually being asked questions by him as I was sure if he ever went there it would only be to sit and read. After we'd got

Glad to know you like it so far, Gary. You are dead right in what you say about injustices. Perhaps their project may open a few eyes.

Appreciate your comments @weinerdog As for the John Wayne/Marion Morrision reference, it is simply a name association comment that I thought two teachers of a certain age might make.

    Chapter 6

Interestinhg, considering in your own comment on chapter 2 you made a couple of spelling mistakes yourself. Isn't there an old saying about stones and greenhouses?
