    Chapter 8

This was another good chapter. We see the boys, have another tender moment while getting back to the "house." The caution in handling the military grade dynamite, and keeping the blasting caps away from the sticks. And the discussion about the plane around the table went about how I expected. The old saying of, "Trust but Verify" comes to mind.

    Chapter 7

True, but they are not going to get the information they need, sitting in camp. There is caution, and then there is inaction. Staying put would be a detriment.

    Chapter 7

Wow... Just WOW... This chapter had it all. Tension, emotion, conflict, and now a glimmer of hope that there is more than just them. After two years, of just surviving, now they have a goal to work on and a decision to make. Do they leave the safety and certainty of "The Camp," their home for two years, to head in a direction they don't know, or for how long to find the others? Or Stay? That would be one hell-of-a-talk. But first, they have Captain Blue Balls to deal with. I loved the tender moment that Jeremy and Richie had in the truck. It was an excellent way for the two of them to show love, and to calm each other down. Like this is not your typical Zombie story, this is also not your typical Teenager story. These kids have come together, to form a family, as I mentioned before, but they have had to grow up Pretty Damn Quick. Heck, you pointed out in chapter 2 or 3, that their living condition is not that private. With hearing Mike and Will jacking off in their "room" with walls of blankets, and with Richie and Jeremy going at it in their sheet wall room. There wouldn't be that many secrets among them, nor any issues with seeing each other in compromising situations. I'll disagree with some of the others who say the plane is a bad omen. It's been two years since the changes. Finding other survivors in a remote area in the mountains, would not be a priority. Now, if they can find an Amature Radio Station in either the police station or in someone's house, and a couple of generators to supply power enough to run it and the signal booster, they would have a shot of contacting other survivors. If you don't mind me asking, how many more chapters do we have of this fraking fantastic story?
  4. 700 on the list now.

    Chapter 6

I've always felt that exposition had its place in any story. This was a perfectly executed one. Enough tension, drama, doubts, heartache, to make all the characters feel real. I like how you did the flashback scenes, and bring up the morality of the decision of taking the former human out. These kids were forged into a family.

    Chapter 5

Specifically, White Oak. If I remember my US History correct, they cut down a "forest" worth of White Oak, 200 trees, to make the USS Consitution, and her sister ship. Oh, dudes... I'm laughing harder than I should on this.
  7. Six days till my GA account turns into Lightning Hockey Central...
  8. Thanks, Myr and all the crew. Happy Birthday, GA! Edit: What GA means to me is this... It's a community, that like a big family. Yeah, we fuss and fight, but in the end, we look out for each other. I've met some great people here. Became friends with several, and some they are more like family to me. I come from a big extended family in real-life, and I see GA as another part of it. Posting before coffee is not recommended.

I'M NOT CRYING, YOU ARE!!! In all seriousness, tim, you have a knack of reaching into my chest, grab ahold of the feels there, and yank for all you're worth. Fantastic story, Bro. I loved every word of it.
  11. This was absolutely beautiful. Well written, not what I was expecting once I saw Jim. But I love how Sam let dam break, and the unleashed emotions flooded out. It was wonderful.
  12. This was fantastic. Very loving, and touching. You could feel the love they both had for each other, even after the incident and time apart.
  13. Thanks, AC I'll take a look at it.

    Do No Harm

Damn onions. Wow tim, just wow. Fantastic, excellently written, vivid. I feel that John did the correct thing, in trying to save Tommy and then defending himself from Jack. There were warning signs from the beginning. The BDSM club, and him whipping the sub like that. Makes me think, that Jack didn't just "find" the place while in Med School, and was trying to make John into one of his boys. I'm glad John stood up for that sub in the bar and helped Tommy.
  15. Wow, tim. This brought a tear to my eye. Loved it.
  16. Where can I find a Green Door? Fantastic prompt story tim.
  17. Well, Daniel did get the prize that he wanted in the raffle. Fantastic short, tim. I could see Danny with two left feet, stepping on toes.

    Chapter 5

This was a fantastic chapter, lots of action, lots of insight into the character of the kids. Sherry and Mike saved their bacon. I would not want to be them with the ringing in their ears from mike's timely gunfire in the truck. Sherry's heroic act saved them and saved the truck and supplies. Fantastic chapter!
  19. I'm sorry that you have to go through all that miss molly, with your family, and friends. Know that you are in my prayers.
  20. I'm glad you enjoyed all of these, and for all the reactions, Backwoods. The wrong number would be good as a First Line prompt. Damn man... you just inspired a new prompt.
  21. Most of them were just free-writing and practice pieces. Number 3 was a short under 500-word scene that was part of a newsletter game. Number 11 & 12, center on me a little, but twisted a little. Number 16... Well, that's based on a real event. The names are changed to protect the not so innocent. EDIT: But almost all the prompts came from GA, and in the Writing Prompt forum, or in the blogs when they get posted.

    Chapter 4

Very true, and Marnie didn't really give any details on where it was, except for "The zombie is out at the edge of the field. It's been throwing small trees at the camp and making a commotion. Just acting really weird." This could be anywhere around the cleared zone. In chapter 1 and 2 it described walking out of the forest into the clearing, and the snares in the tree line, they were supposed to have checked in the morning. With only one access road into the Base Camp, as far as we know, that zombie made the perfect trap. With it being at the camp, and doing this specifically to go after Richie and Jeremy (assumption based on Marnie's reaction), it makes me wonder if the lore about them "shutting down" at night is correct or not. It could have followed the boys, and at first light saw them leave, and set about getting the trap ready. If it did shut down, how did it know the boys were not there, and will be in a truck? It only had a general since of where they were heading when it spotted them. Unless these things can track, after a 12 - 15 hour head start.

    Chapter 4

Wow. Awesome chapter. With the zombies being insanely superhuman, and intelligent, they have a fight on their hands. I hope they can get the truck stopped before they hit the trap, and that Richie and Mike can bring it down with their weapons.
  24. Well said.
  25. Spot on. Every one of those poems hits home. You are an artist with words, and paint vivid pictures that you can only see in the mind. Hugs man, lots of hugs. You know my answer for what's beyond.
