  1. “And they all lived happily ever after….” 👬 There is so much I like and can touch upon but I think this covers everything best, unless it’s phrased: ”And they all lived happily ever after….As Larkspur Turns” 🌎 Thank you, Gary. 💝

    Chapter 15 Faith

I love the grandmother’s presence in “Gone Fishing”❣️❣️ I also love @Albert1434‘s reference to Wes and Lee being characters of this story, they’re the reason Mitch and the boys (and now Will) became a family.

    Chapter 15 Faith

This chapter left me with extremely happy feels. Witnessing Coy’s loving tenacity balanced by Boone’s calm, cool yet passionate patience put me in mind of a phrase I used for the guys before: Yin and Yang….these two complement and balance each other per-fect-ly. The comedy show displayed with them waiting for word from Mitchell exemplified that. The payoff from the good news was worth it, as was the watching the safe space these four are creating for each other to be themselves and love the way they want to love. (I loved Mitch and Will kissing in front of B & C….how free and trusting they felt to have done that!! payback be damned, lol). There is a bountiful harvest of more than apples due from that area; About that…. It further gladdened my heart to see the burgeoning moguls Boone and Coy are on the way to being, with the deal they made with the hotel for their apples and the future forecasts on their cattle. 👏 “Not the first time it feels the Lord is on our side, is it?”….No Boone, it’s not the first time it feels like that at all; While I love this outcome for these four, Gary, I know you could have written a story with a far different outcome for their fate at that time of life….pioneering ain’t easy, still isn’t, as land ain’t the only new territory to cross. What will the end of this story look like? Will anyone tell Will who Willard is? 😄 🐴 Guess we’ll find out the next time we tune in to “As Larkspur Turns” 🌎 🍻
  6. “We” are impressed you don’t do it more often, lol!! 👑 🏰 🍻
  7. “Outhouse in the tree line to the north of the house?” Every time I read about outhouses, it makes me glad I was born when “water closets”were moved indoors, lol!! This chapter was enlightening in that Mitch admitted to all the fears he harbored during M & W 1.0….fears that would have likely resulted in issues they may not have been able to recover from. He is correct in saying they were meant to be together now, it makes M & W 2.0 all the sweeter (I loved how much Mitch kept kissing Will and while Will’s words were moving, I’m not putting M & W in the sweet talk league of Boone and Coy yet, lol.) It was very nice to see the gents making plans for the future….good times abound for M & W and their neighbors….speaking of, the relay of all the recent developments will have B & C’s heads spinning and their hearts overfull with happiness. Fishfry next week on “As Larkspur Turns” 🌎!! 😄🍻

  9. OH❣️❣️ How poetically beautiful. 😍
  10. YEEEEE HAAAWWW!!!! This was a grateful, goodful, chapter. “If he let the lane bend like the boys’ did, he only had to remove three large ones, some medium-sized cedars, and a few smaller saplings. He could do all that in less than a day….” Less than a day?!?!…Seems like Mitch could be Paul Bunyan instead of the town sheriff (which is kind of what he’s going to be doing anyway, working alongside Will 😬) might be my city slicker viewpoint is what makes that seem ambitious. 🤷‍♀️ “Afraid all I got here is a big ole axe.” “I recall you surely do,” Will said wicked-like, and Mitch laughed loud and long for the first time in ages.” That’s what I’m talkin’ about!! 🍆🍆 To paraphrase an old song: 🎶If you wanna ride/ride the white horse. If you wanna ride/ride the white pony. 🎶 There’s going to be some joyful noise made in that there tent ⛺️….and in the next installment of “As Larkspur Turns” 🌎 You done did good, Gary. 🍻
  11. Any of us with mileage can relate…..😘 🍻
  12. You phrase your pain beautifully.
  13. Speaking of maladies-Mitch has a shitload of complications from his bullet wounds, one that doesn’t sound as though it completely healed. ”As well, you have an old, chronic injury to your left side which left considerable scar tissue, some of which I can actually feel through the skin around the original wound. That tissue can get inflamed from time to time.” Eww. Scar tissue can be a real bitch. 🩹
  14. YAAAAAAAAAY❣️❣️❣️❣️ I KNEW YOU WOULDN’T DISAPPOINT, GARY❣️❣️ MMMMMWWWWAAAHHH❣️❣️ What a relief….WHEW❣️❣️ *HAPPY DANCE* First off: “Mitch guessed the man was a fair bit younger than him, with his hair still a dark gold color, thinning slightly, and his face free of lines…..The man took it, and his handshake was firm and friendly. The eyes that met his were a friendly green.” Made me think of Boone not knowing who his Daddy is….Dr. Jergens has an excellent bedside manner and he very much reminds me of Boone’s eye of the hurricane calmness. I also like the name “Jergens” for the doctor, I use the lotion by that name and he reminds of what lotions can do-soothe and smooth. I was almost of a mind to call Dr. Bailey a quack, especially contrasting his diagnostic skills to Dr. Jergens’; I had to remind myself that medicine was often used with the five senses prior to it’s technological advances which would have often resulted in misdiagnoses (modern medicine can still result in those, lol). At best, Dr. Bailey is a doctor who sticks with what he knows & that is a timeless diagnosis, lol. I loved seeing what I believe was a precursor to today’s stethoscope but wasn’t able to determine the actual malady that befell Mitch. Speaking of Mitchell….he has a new lease on life, I’m very excited to see what comes next. Thank goodness Coy isn’t the type to say “I told you so” and that reunion sex between Mitch and Will is gonna be EPIC!! Next week’s installment of “As Larkspur Turns” can’t come soon enough!! 🌎 Good job, Gary 🍻
  15. TRUER WORDS….LOL!!
  16. Truer words….❤️
  17. “He’d had a few coughing fits after his time laying on cold ground, but it had eased some since yesterday. Blood had spotted the spittle—and still did some….” Bah Humbug!!!! “If you believe in fairies, wave your handkerchief and clap your hands!!” 🧚‍♀️ 👏 Yes, I know the story is written but Ima try some Tinkerbell effect anyway, lol. (“Live Mitchell, Live”) “Mitch sighed again. “Felt the love for him and it hit me hard… the love I ain’t never been free off, no matter what I told myself.” Love conquers all, Mitch. (That’s all I got, 🤷‍♀️ lol.) Coy’s vivacity has been duly mentioned in previous comments…. I equally appreciate the special stalwart qualities possessed by Boone, a perfect compliment & counterpoint to his husband, they do truly bring out the best in each other. “When will Willard show hisself to Mitch again? Will the doctor in Larkspur give a different reckoning of Mitch’s fate? Do Coy or Mitch know how to make apple pie? (I bet they’d have the BEST with their homegrown crop) Guess I’ll have to find out next week on “As Larkspur Turns” 🌎
  18. This was an intense, stimulating showdown….It was almost a draw but I give the edge to Will, lol. ⚔️ A bittersweet yet emotionally satisfying exchange on so many levels- It whets the appetite for more: “Ain’t been sleeping much. Close my eyes and I see you.” “I remember everything you ever told me, and everything we ever did, from the first night you rescued my drunk ass.” “Ah… Doc called it tumor disease. Carcino something something.” Are you really going to kill off Mitch, Gary? Guess I’ll get more of an indication in the next installment of “As Larkspur Turns” 🌎

    Chapter 45

Nathan must deny who he is just to please some image his father wants him to be, no doubt because he is the” heir” and only surviving child. In caring about appearances, he would destroy the will of his son….Mr. Brown is an awful, awful man (the threat of turning Annie against her own father was a particularly low blow). Damn the man for making Nathan feel as though something is wrong with him for being gay. My heart goes out to him 💔 As for Aiden’s trips in and out of closet, well, I won’t judge the battle he goes through with his self loathing, I will judge him entangling Jason in his confusion. As convenient as getting his dick wet with Aiden could be, Jason would do best to steer clear of Aiden until he clearly knows what he wants. What a bitter pickle all around, lol.
  20. Shiiit, I want a parcel of land close to Red Apple Farm, lol!! Their homestead does sound like heaven on earth. 🍎🌳 I looked up the meaning of Larkspur and it’s a very interesting flower: tall, beautifully colored plants that you must still exercise caution around, as they are toxic to animals and humans; It is a fitting analogy for the town….there is beauty to be found (as evidenced by Boone and Coy’s Eden), yet care must be maintained-there are the elements to contend with and stranger danger that one had to always be on the alert for, lest it prove toxic to one’s carefully maintained existence….it was fortunate that the guys came upon Mitch but that could have easily been a more malevolent scenario; Times being what they were, any possibility of danger, (fire or trespasser) could not be ignored. I’ve heard of sage being used as a way to bless a home…the blessing provided by Coy and the additional information provided by Mitchell about how the sage should go out were lovely addendums, kudos to you on your research, Gary. 👏 It was bittersweet to see Mitch making plans with his new purchase-he was clearly happy to be settling where he was, both for locale and his “neighbors”, lol. You have to live until you die so good on him for looking into the future…aren’t we all on that road from the moment we’re born? I can’t help but feel that he was making plans for two, juuust in case (?) 🤞 The fight seems to have gone out of everyone’s favorite lawman; Looks like William will get his answers in the next installment of “As Larkspur Turns” 🌎. Looking forward to the reaction.
  21. Welp…. I’s tried. 😁 🤷‍♀️
  22. @spyke-Gary doesn’t take “bribes” but maybe a request for a longer chapter in the next installment (of which there is a precedent) might not be amiss? Just something for the erudite, revered author to contemplate….maybe? 🤔 & batting eyelashes, lol.
  23. I do notice….their foreplay starts when they wake up in the morning and culminates in the appropriate ride wanted/needed (rough rides have their place too, 😉) 🐎 Yee Hah 📯(closest thing I could find to a whip, lol). Boone and Coy are true soulmates, yin and yang….I delight in their communion and the way it manifests.
  24. “….Truth is, I thought I was over missing the man, but now I miss him more than I ever did. Last night I felt that need again… the ache to have him next to me… to hear his breathing.” Them’s the words what hit me the most in this chapter ❤️‍🩹; I don’t know which is worse, the general longing or when the longing has a name. Though the much needed conversation between Will and Mitch wasn’t had, other important words were exchanged-it’s important to have a place to free your mind and even though Will has survived all this time without that, it has to be a heck of a relief to be able to verbalize his feelings…. I reckon he done talked to B&C about Mitch more than he ever has in his whole life; just to be around people like himself has to make the air he breathes lighter, though he isn’t with the man he loves, he isn’t alone. I love the combination of lust and love in Boone and Coy’s convo in this chapter, Gary….gentle riding indeed. 🐎 😊 Looking forward to the next installment of “As Larkspur Turns” 🌎
  25. Loved the vernacular of this comment. Mighty fine writin’ it is….
