Thank you for the comment! I was expecting at some point someone to notice this aspect about Carter. The thing is I am no specialist, but I'm basing Carter as a character - very loosely - on people I went to school with, highly intelligent individuals, but with some difficulties in expressing their emotions like 'normal' people. So I suppose he might be what people call 'in the spectrum', but I cannot know for sure. As I said, I'm not the right person to say directly such a thing and I just got inspired for him from real people - who weren't diagnosed or even evaluated as being such. As for the resolution ... hey, the road there is paved with obstacles, as well as a certain husband who won't give up that easily, lol! Expect some more ups and turns until the end that I hope will be satisfying enough! Hugs!

Thanks a lot! Aron and Carter will see each other, I promise! What I don't promise is that it won't be the same rollercoaster-style type of story! Hugs!

Chapter Twenty-Three – The Boy Next Door Waking up the second time, and this time in his own body, but in a similar hospital bed, proved to be an even more difficult an experience than the first time. One thing he noticed right away was that everything was hurting. Hey, it had been nice to be Alex, then, right? No pain that time. C’mon, is that the only thing you can think of? You know it’s not, and don’t you dare do the thinking for me. I’m your brain, remember? Then I’d rat

Enough to Make a Difference
Laura S. Fox commented on Laura S. Fox's story chapter in Enough to Make a Difference
Ah, I have a feeling you will be a little disappointed ... They weren't together if that is your intuition tells you, and I'm not completely off the mark here. Carter's internal mono/dialogue is something that is part of him and has been for a long time, and not something that appeared as a result of the accident. It is part of his personality and I hope that, until the end, it will become clear why he behaves in this manner. So, Alex might not have learned much, or, he might have learned something different. Since the story is completely told from Carter's POV, except for what Alex will volunteer to show or say, nothing else will transpire. And now, hoping that I did not put you off the story completely, I want to thank you for commenting and for your praise! It is always interesting to discover how what I write is interpreted by those who read it. Cheers! -

Hey, thanks! Alex will, ahem, have some reactions. That will certainly not make anyone feeling more inclined to like him, though, lol! As for poor Aron ... sigh. -

Yes, I like how you noticed the name of the chapter being the key! And, here's another hint for the puzzle; the few feet that made a difference are not only related to this particular situation As for what happened to Alex, there'll be more of him, now that everyone's awake, alive, and kicking. And yeah, he must have a shock to see how Carter re-appointed his life, lol. Thank you for your constant support! -

I see, dear godmom, that you're still bent on not believing Alex to have gone through anything traumatic enough to justify his actions. Very well, because Carter is not willing to be swayed, either :)) Mark will not be that much of a mystery for long, I promise. You'll hear it all straight from the horse's mouth. As for what happened to Alex in the meantime ... that's something only he can truly know (cue evil laughter). Thanks a lot and hugs! -

I totally get the WOW emoji choice since I was going for that reaction! Yes, the two guys involved in the body swap needed to be in the same room, but also Aron had to be present for the actual reverse to happen, and the conditions for that were finally met. Aron was the link between them, which is why nothing happened when Carter tried to reverse the switch on his own (during the first chapters). Simon ... eh, that boy needs a bit of fresh air, I agree And yes, Aron's mom felt something, but, just like all the characters, except for those directly involved in the body swap, could not think of any magic stuff and only blame it on herself as she was thinking of Carter a lot. Carter will awake, this time for good, in the hospital room, and yes, that will happen the next chapter! Thanks for commenting! Much appreciated! -

Kyaa, so glad someone mentioned Aron's mom! I know that with all the rollercoaster this chapter was, she didn't take the first place on the stage, but she's the only who truly 'felt' Carter, and I thought it was an important element. Carter will continue to talk to himself, he, he. He never parts with his trolly brain, so that will continue to happen. And yes! Carter is awake! It was a long time coming! Hugs! -

Ah, Wes, so, so sorry! I knew I was late, but ... that's what happens when I lose myself in the kitchen, cooking for hours ... I kind of lost track of time. I apologize again, but you'll see more of Alex. The real Alex this time! And I can only say you'll not love him more! Carter and Aron, sigh, they'll have to go back to being best friends now, right? Well, things will happen, I promise! -

He, he, that means that I worked that build up well enough. And, yes, that was a lil' cliffie right there. I can only say, as usual, that things are going to get even more crazier. Or maybe not? The order of things was finally restored. Or has it? And now I sound like a stupid clickbait article, lol. Thank you so much, words like these make my day. Cheers! -

Chapter Twenty-Two – Enough to Make a Difference “No, it’s just some allergy and stuff,” he quickly wiped his cheeks with his hands. “I didn’t know you were allergic,” Aron said, still worried. “What triggered your allergy?” “A shmuck,” Carter said brightly. “I mean, that shmuck from earlier. The reporter. Yeah, that’s it. I’m allergic to scumbags.” Aron placed a hand on Carter’s shoulder and squeezed gently. “You don’t have to act brave. I know how what I said must be
