Welcome. I see that you've already settled in with an Author tag, good luck!

Yep, chapter 8 is posted. One of the perks of having all of it written (aside from the epilogue) is that the posting is quicker! Although, I am a bit worried I'm about to lose what few readers this story seems to have attracted in the next couple of chapters.. lol. We shall see.

Happy Birthday!

I was walking down a dark street and my heart began to race. I could just make out the neon sign of a coffee shop that I recognized. Seeing it, I breathed a sigh of relief, shaking my head I started walking faster. I was going to make it, it was just a few short steps away. Then without warning a pair of hands reached out, I could just see them out of the corner of my eye. They grabbed hold of me, one around my mouth to cut off any scream for help... My eyes shot open, the room had the blue

It is a bit sad that someone has to 'try' so hard, but I guess that's what people do regardless. I'm glad you're still reading and reviewing.

Supreme Court Strikes Down Same-Sex Marriage Ban In 50 States
Krista replied to rustle's topic in The Lounge
Yayy, my friends have set a date. I hadn't even been aware anything had changed until one of them called me. I guess one misses things when all she gets to watch is Cartoons. -
Scratch that.. I'm staying well out of this.

Nooo. There are other ways to cure a foot fungus. If I ever get one, I'll let peeing on my feet be the LAST option I try. lol. I knew when I posted that, I would likely be in the minority. I think I did a chat poll on this once upon a time (yes strange things do happen in chat) and a lot of people said they did so. I just know.. Aaron would get couch duty after scrubbing down the shower.

Most of those flavor combinations are a play on Sweet and Savory - which is a favorite for a lot of people to mix. There are a lot of recipes that add salt/savory aspects to them. With that said, I wouldn't eat any of those listed above so far. And this has nothing to do with me, but apparently 'some' men out there.. and I guess some women.. but really.. men.. like to urinate in the shower.. Not really for any other reason than the mood hits when the water is turned on and warm? AND the defense of, "it goes down the drain anyway," does not work for me.

Being a female athlete, I know all too well that people hardly ever came to our games. Not until the playoffs when the loser male basketball team would always get bounced from the playoffs in game one. ONLY then would people really fill the seats at our games.. and we were always near the top of the standings in basketball.. one time we even won state. I believe that was the fullest the gym ever was for a game I played. Of course you would have to factor in the other teams playing in that gym during the same week... we weren't the only thing going on. We are not as flashy.. I only really successfully dunked the ball once in my life (not in a game, just fooling around, and it hurt). The women's game relies on defense and jump shots. That's what Basketball is about really.. there was once a time when a dunk was considered a technical foul and wasn't allowed. I would hate to see it change to anything less flashy though. What we have to attempt to do is.. appreciate the athlete/team/sport for what they are capable of and not overlook them for what they aren't. I know a lot of people can't, but there is something of value there in both. Softball - fast pitch. Is exciting to watch in the women's game. It is quicker than baseball, but even then you have to be a baseball/softball fan and willing to actually pay attention. I think the world will continue to be robbed if that sport remains off the Olympic schedule. As well as Wrestling... to be fair. There are pro-women football leagues out there.. very rare and barely surviving. Mostly those bikini flag football teams get some television time.. I think I even saw one game televised. So that is almost a circus act that will never be taken seriously. Gymnasts are held to high regard in the sport on the women's side. That's the only sport I can think of where men aren't held equally.

After a quick shower to wash away all the loose hair from my haircut I quickly dressed in a pair of khaki shorts and a plain blue t-shirt. I had been lucky enough to sneak in past Mom earlier. She was thoroughly distracted with planning the Spring social season. Mom had wanted to turn our little place into the Hampton’s of the south, but we lived too far away from the coast and too out of the way from anything. It meant that most of her fundraising parties took place in Florida. I was expec

Dragon Age And Mass Effect Series: Favourite Romances?
Krista replied to Thorn Wilde's topic in The Lounge
Are you ever an absolute mean person in these games? There are some interesting interactions if you're pretty much a villain and choose all the mean/evil decisions and all of the confrontational dialogue options? You can be down right cruel, but I can never bring myself to do that.. lol. I may attempt it, but I like to think I'm trying my best at saving the world.. instead of just mowing everyone over..- 19 replies

Woops, I completely forgot about the word scramble game.. I remember the next bunch being a wee bit more of a challenge.

Thanks for reviewing Steven! I like to think that the kiss set things into motion for the both of them. Even though they have entirely different lives, they may be able to have what they want.

Dragon Age And Mass Effect Series: Favourite Romances?
Krista replied to Thorn Wilde's topic in The Lounge
I liked Varric, but I talked to him more in DA:2 - a lot more. Although he was more or less a scapegoat for moving the plot along in both games. Cassandra and Varric's interactions were at least funny at times. I would just like an original romance available dwarf in the next one.- 19 replies

Thanks for reading! I love characters.. if I cannot develop a 'cast' of characters I really enjoy then I have a difficult time staying motivated. So I liked that Nikki was a bit wild/untamed/selfish. That Tessa was young and naive and that both Wes and Will were so rooted to the lives they lived in.. one voluntarily and one.. maybe a bit chained. So I'm thrilled you liked the characters and story.
-
I believe if Will has determination he'll make it out to see a bit more of the world.. maybe not Iowa, but some where. I'm glad you enjoyed the story! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Yeah, the girls were wild and ambitious and the boys are cautious and grounded.. lol. The stereotypes are a bit flipped, but I enjoyed that aspect of the story. I do like that imperfect kiss that meant so much. They both crossed a line that neither of them really expected to cross any time soon, if ever. Thanks for reading and leaving a review!
-
Nikki and Tessa are typical small town girls. They have the lights of the big city in their eyes.. and no real plan to get there.. other than going. lol. I personally, have never felt like seeing large cities like New York... but some of my friends were really set on it for awhile. I wish I could have dived more into the "twin dynamic" a bit more, I think twins are interesting. I'm raising twins right now and they're just so.. odd and fascinating with how they react together and apart. I do feel bad for William after re-reading it. If someone wants to escape badly enough, I like to think they plan out a chance for it. Thanks for reading and reviewing! I really enjoyed writing this story.
-
I honestly didn't feel like Wes and William were both "alone" but reading the reviews so far about every one has. I guess living in a rural area it is easy to think that you're the only one. It does make it an underlying sad story, although partly unintentional. Thanks for reading! And yes, I think Tessa has learned her lesson...
