  1. Happy Birthday!!! Have a good one, Krista
  2. Honestly, some things do need to be censored. Some children think differently than others and take things more seriously. How do you think people act and say what they do? Something has shown them that it's ok to do so. I do think people have over stepped the censorship line though. Some of Pink's songs about the president couldn't even be aired on the radio as it was offensive. Anyway, when media isn't held down by rules and boundaries aren't set then things can get too "raunchy" for people that shouldn't be viewing the content, but I think censorship should start with the Parents and not with the media as everyone has their own ideas about what should and shouldn't be allowed to be viewed by the public at large. 3. Lol... I don't know. I just know that people have made fun of me over the faces I make while applying make-up. So I guess I could be making some interesting faces. I don't think they are that bad though. You're also right... it's difficult not to make a face when you're putting on Mascara or foundation. Krista
  4. Hmm... I've been known to make some weird faces while putting on my make-up.. lol. I've been trying to stop myself though. Krista

  11. Well my plans involve family. For people that can't get along not long after the booze kicks in we like to get together often. So I'll be cooking and cleaning for the most of it. Monday will be the best day as Jared doesn't have to work and it'd be peaceful at home. Krista

    just... argh~!

Hey, Yes, I get asked that all the time as well. "Why are you writing gay stories?" And, I'd always just tell them, there are some gay characters and some straight ones in every story so I don't see it as a homosexual story. But, I've never met anyone as determined to get their point across as you or I probably wouldn't have been as civil... lol. I think it comes with the territory of women writers writing about male anything. I probably can't see that person asking a gay man why he's writing about gay characters. Or someone asking a man why he's writing about male characters. Krista

    The Sickness

Hey Maybe what was said was out of honesty? It is honest and rational to say things like that. That could have been in an heightened emotional state of mind. To wonder if what they said came from the heart isn't for you to say or for you to condemn them for. When you start defining what is beneath or above your moral code of living it comes across as being a personal attack or preachy. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't enjoy people rejoicing over someone's death probably about as much as you do, but I won't condemn them or think lowly of them for doing so. As I see it as nothing more as an honest expression for a person who they felt personally attacked by every time he opened his mouth. I think expressing your opnion is fine as long as you can look the other direction and not put others people down when they do the same, wait until you can step away from what was said and discuss it with a level head. Sometimes your posts and the posts of others here didn't seem that way. Even my own post could be looked at as being dripping with hate for Jerry Falwell. Krista
  14. Hey, Well all I can say is that I think you're a great person. It's ok to be angry, it's honest and rational and you shouldn't feel torn or bad about the anger that you're feeling. As long as you remember overall and at the end of the day that you're human and a great person the past won't be as overwhelming. Anyway, more people need to have your strength. Even if you don't see it or you don't think it's there, you're a strong person. Krista
  15. I confess that I don't think I'll be able to stop myself from buying the new Comaros... they're just too damned sexy... lol. Krista

  18. Let's see, I only have ingredients as I threw this all together. Mom wanted salmon something... so I was actually trying to gross her out on Salmon because I hated fish and didn't feel like making a thousand different things instead of one large meal, BUT.. it actually turned out really good and got me hooked on at least one fish dish... Two pieces of boneless salmon 4 sliced and peeled limes 2 sliced and peeled oranges 2 Tbs of butter (I would normally use veggie oil, but that tends to keep flavors from mixing) Salt (probably half a tsp) Sliced Broccolli Cauliflower Carrots Lettuce Rice Onions Wrapped in foil and grilled. I couldn't tell you the time, but just when the salmon looked cooked and the vegetables were tender. I put all of the sliced oranges in, but I squeezed half the lime over the salmon and veggies then cooked the rest in there. Krista
  19. I confess that I just threw together a bunch of food for dinner yesterday and was lucky when it came out to be the best thing I ever ate... ever. Which it was fish and I refused to eat fish until yesterday when I just had to try it... lol. Grilled Lime Salmon with Rice and Veggies or I should say... yum. Krista
  20. Young people being more intelligent - for the most part could be left to really think about. What makes younger people seem smarter in the first place? Is it because your expectations were set too low and the younger generations have exceeded them? Or is it because they've had better teachers, more resources, and higher levels of education being learned as the world advances? As for a young person's intelligence compared to the older generations - younger people are more stubborn when it comes to what an older generation tells them. I mean, I've always been skeptical of Mom's "hard lessons learned" lectures until one smacks me in the face. Then I hear her voice screaming, "Krista, I told you so." There are two types of intelligence really, "educational" and "common sense" (maturity). Educationally young people are probably exceeding your expectations only because the younger generations are still living in their educational parts of their lives. Where they're still being taught in some school. The common sense is where you're probably being surprised. Maybe GA's younger generations that you've witnessed have had some difficult lessons to learn and some circumstances to adapt to. What you're seeing is the maturity from having to make a difficult decision or accept something larger than what they were at the time. Now, don't think it doesn't happen both ways. When I talk and listen to someone much older than me I can appreciate their intelligence as well. Neither generation is better than the other. So then, 1-10, I would give Knowledge a 7 over past experiences. Only because Knowledge can keep you from learning a hard lesson. So I think it is slightly more important. Krista
  21. Hello, From your short description of this story it seems interesting and complex. Probably not something I would pick up at first glance, but would probaby read and enjoy. The Title is also catchy. Anyway, Welcome to GA Lol - since I completely missed the reason for this post (been known to be a ditzy blonde on occassion) let's see what I can come up with now. Personally, people need a purpose in life to feel accomplished and fulfilled in one way or another. Some people look for these large grand schemes and fall short and others don't see how important they really are. Some people could be afraid of their purpose or hate it altogether. I believe a person needs a purpose in life. It was forces people out of bed in the mornings to strive to accomplish it. So they can either move on or be happy - either way fulfilling your purpose is what drives you on. I also don't see a purpose to life being what defines a person. As for myself, right now my purpose is to help out at home so the needs of my little brothers and sisters are met. When I move in with my boyfriend soon my purpose will be to hopefully become the person he's going to want to spend the rest of his life with. It will be the one thing that I will be striving to complete. So my purpose in life will be changing as time passes. Krista
  22. I confess that Adam Levine's (From Maroon 5) odd "bouncy dancing" is actually sexy... Krista
  23. Aww... It's good that they gave them a chance to raise a chick since they worked so diligently to hatch some from their eggs. I've read about some studies in the wild about two unpaired males adopting an abandoned baby, but the "proud papas" version is a lot better. Krista
  24. oOo.. another fan. I confess that I feel bad going out this weekend when Jared had to work. He had an extremely rough weekend and I missed his calls because I was... recovering... Krista
  25. I confess that I've been having second thoughts on being engaged. Of course, there are a lot of people trying to tell me what to do about it. Jared and I both know that there isn't any reason to rush into marriage so we're taking a year of living with one another to find out.. lol. Everything will probably be better after we see one another everyday. I've not seen him personally since Mother's Day. Krista
