  1. I am planning to come, but really, I'm going to be busy. It depends on how bad I want to be.. lol. I'm taking on extra classes to get through college faster. (So, 70% sure that I'll be there) Krista

  7. Well... to make a long story short.. I tried to dunk a basketball... and failed. My knee cap popped out of place and I tore my ACL and had to go to the ER and such. I also fell off my horse and broke my ass bone and arm, but I'm sure a lot of people do that as well. I have many more that doesn't involve a trip to the ER though. Krista
  8. Congratulations CJ!!!!!! Have fun, Krista

  10. Good lord Benji that is a lot of reading... Right now I am reading - as in, on my list of things to do.. All of the anthologies. I will get to them all, but I'm slow at doing so. The next two or so on my list is CJ's and Graeme's. Don't worry, I will get ALL of them in.. lol. I'll also comment on them. Living In Surreality - ShadowGod What I'm reading away from the net.. Harry Potter - I've put off reading the whole series long enough. I've tackled books 1-4 already. I'm holding off on the rest though as I don't want to look like a fanatic.. and such. I'm trying to wait patiently for the new one from Christopher Paolini... I can't think of the title right now. It should be better than the other two as Eldest was I think more thought out and better wrote than Eragon. Krista
  11. Hi Pietro, Welcome back to the forums. Krista
  12. Happy Birthday!!! Have a good one. Krista
  13. I would think, it would be over all cool in SF in November. It is early November though so I would say cooler temperatures, but not the full effect of late fall early winter with all the wet, ugly, cold, weather. To much later I would expect all the nastiness the autumn season creates. All I know is, the way I pack, I would be prepared for any and everything weather related and that's the only way to pack really. Just don't laugh if you see me dragging a U-haul full of junk just to stay the weekend. Krista
  14. Well, I found my heroes later in life. I have two, my little brother as well as my ex-boyfriend David's mother. My little brother was diagnosed with a heart condition and such and I know if I was diagnosed with something that I would think it was the end of me. He did have times where he felt that way, but for the most part he's kept true to himself. After he realized that people weren't going to think of him as weak or different then he was fine. So that's that. I guess it's also odd to think of an ex-boyfriend's mother as a hero, but she was diagnosed with breast cancer and since David was traveling to and from Maryland working he couldn't be there for her so I helped take care of her and we talked and she is really more motherly to me than my own Mom and such. Even after she recovered and is now living close to David in Maryland we still talk and I tell her all of my problems. Which is something I rarely get a chance to tell my friends really and it's still something I don't tell Mom. She's actually down to visit for a few weeks which is just grand. It just sucks that I have to start back to college Monday. Krista
  15. I voted on the second option. November and December are my extremely busy months really, but I'd like to go. I just probably wouldn't be able to make it realistically. Anyway, SF is one of the many places I'd want to travel to in the U.S though so maybe that would be my motivation. Krista
  16. Lol.. agreed, alcohol and mass gatherings don't typically mix do they. We'll never have a Convention until you can all AGREE on a place. By reading most of the posts here, I believe Texas is the place most people like. Other than Las Vegas, and Saturn's Moons. Krista

    Just a second

Hey Nick, Everyone of us have had times, many times, where we've contemplated the way that we're doing things. With us as authors our characters and such come into play with our writing and our writing styles. So that when people are judging our stories people are also judging us. Not really as people, but sometimes it's hard to take. I know I've personally been compared to a lot of different authors. I'm sure you have as well. I remember being compared to an author. The person listed everything that the author does and everything that I fell short on in comparison. Let me tell you, I fell short on a lot of them, if not everything he mentioned. That I needed to do a lot of different things before I can call myself a writer and such. I've not done any of those as I'm not that author. I wouldn't want to be. Anyway, what needs to be understood is that none of us are the same person. To expect the same thing isn't fair and isn't really respecting what we do in our writing. I only asked him after everything he said was, "Are you a fan of me?" When he answered, "Yeah, I am," I left it at that. Even if he had said no it wouldn't have changed anything. I've learned to stop trying to please everyone and started working on writing the stories that I set out writing. The way that I wanted to, the ideas that I had, and the characters that are part of them. I don't turn a blind eye on criticim, only comparisons. Take all the time you need to settle and do everything so that you can continue writing. You bring something to the site, even if that ONE person doesn't appreciate it. Krista

  24. Lol. I don't know what I'd do with gambling, it may not mix well with me. I've never been, but VEGAS is a place I want to visit. Krista
  25. YES! Spas and Shopping.. lol. I like your thinking. - I would say, Kentucky, but I'd not want people to laugh at me. - Definitely not the place to have a convention. I like my state and all, but it's kinda boring. A convention doesn't really have to be just a gathering, it could be held some place public of course like say, Disney Land for those of us that would be a little shy. Then just have a PLAN for the Members that are there, like Meeting up for a day or so. Krista
