TROY
I stared blankly at my laptop screen. I had a deadline for a series of illustrations due in a few days, and I’d been working almost nonstop for the past week. It normally didn’t take this long to complete a project, but the author was high-maintenance. He demanded fine details and intricate shading. Christ, this was a children’s book for the three-to-six age group, not something that art buffs would start a bidding war over at a prestigious gallery for Christ’s sake.
