We went to bed last night with the AC on... the room we have was kinda stuffy. Froze our tails off this morning. The temp had dropped down into the upper 40s. Oops. I absolutely love the quirky charm this place has. Wonky, uneven floors...everything creaks when you walk (sorry downstairs neighbors!). The heat is a mix of baseboards and cast iron radiators. The windows still have the old pulleys, although they've upgraded from rope to chains. Every room is oddly shaped and has slanted ceilings because of all the dormers. @MichaelS36, unfortunately you'd definitely hit your head on the ceilings. Not tall people friendly. The house was built in 1920 by an owner of one of the local paper mills. It escaped the tornado that blew thru 10 years ago. The mansion across the street got hit. It's all boarded up now. Gorgeous views of the Connecticut River Valley. I'm in my happy place.

OMFG....too damn cute! That alpaca! @mollyhousemouse is right... confused as heck! Wonder if it works on kids? 🤣 Well..... we made it to Mass. Flight from BWI to BDL was 45 minutes late because they didn't have enough baggage handlers to load luggage. The pilots made up for it once in the air.... pedal to the metal and instead of an hour flight it was 45 min. So we only got in 20 minutes late. Still was after 11. The Airbnb we have is amazing. It's an old Tudor mansion that was converted into apartments. We're on the 3rd floor, the ceilings are slanted the floors are beautiful hardwood. It's huge. Absolutely charming! If you appreciate architecture you'd love it. Well I've been up since 5am... 20 hours and I'm ready for zzzzzz's Goodnight all!

Thanks Mags! I sometimes obsess over names when I first start a story. I think in Jarren's story I changed Nash's name three times...lol. Now I can't think of him as anything else.

Mine stay home. I have a dog sitter who comes 3x a day, plus we just put in a doggy door.. Our first dog we took everywhere with us. This trip we're flying and I will never put an animal on a plane. (Zeke is too big for the main cabin and Camden is too fat to fit under the seat in a carrier) I'm in such a good mood today! I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

I didn't get home until 930 tonight. Walked the dogs and then worked on packing. Smooth sailing for an hour and then when I went into our bathroom to gather up all the HBA stuff we don't need in the morning, all of a sudden both dogs had that "oh shit" moment when they realized Mom was putting stuff in The Suitcase. Now I have two mutts attached to me and surgical intervention might be needed to unlatch them from my legs. Camden is whining and Zeke keeps nudging me. Poor pups. 🤣

Yeah.... that's the hardest part. I wish dogs lifespans matched humans. It broke my heart to lose my first dig. Now both of mine are getting older and I know it's gonna hurt. But the joy and happiness they've brought us has made it worth it. I made it thru sales training today....wasn't too bad. One. More. Day!

I didn't have a dig when I was a kid. Once I was able to have one, I knew I would have canine companions for the rest of my life. Unconditional love is the sweetest thing.

The sweatshirt is for the 40s at night.... 60s in the day is my ideal temp! Plus we're staying in an old Tudor mansion that's been converted to apartments... those old houses usually have crap for insulation. The Airbnb has great ratings but the one common thread was that the radiator heating sucked. I figured end of May... who needs heat? 🙄😒

Just checked the weather up north.... 60s during the day for the first few days.. 40s at night. I have sandals and flip flops. I'm not even sure if I have sneakers any more. Guess I'm bringing the cute ankle boots. At least we have sweatshirts and jackets!!
