    Deconstructed (Pt. 2)

I'm not smoking anything. In fact, I've quit smoking recently...about a month ago. This is probably why my mind is everywhere. Don't worry, the story and pacing will settle to normal in a few chapters. I've been drinking a ton of coffees and teas lately--ok, there's some neuroticism thrown in my writing here and there.

    Deconstructed (Pt. 2)

Don't worry, I also write extremely slowly so expect this to be finished by 2050. Like...really, slow. I'm editing my work so there's added pressure on my part. Plus, my beta-reader friend who's busy with his publishing job is also preoccupied with his work, so I may have to resort to blackmailing to get my feedback regarding my last chapter.

    Deconstructed (Pt. 2)

How is Captain/Agent Devan Black this ancient man's husband? They're roommates. Even a thousand years into the future, historians have said that they're just roommates. Their children are their next-door neighbours. And their wedding wasn't actually a wedding...it's was a friendship party but with some kissing on the lips. The genuine answer to this question is in ACT II. I plan on giving this story to 3 ACTS, with the 2nd ACT set in Proxima, 3rd ACT set in outer space thingie. I've divided it around 40k+ words, so it's a 120k++ story, which I plan on finishing by 2050. I hope I finish it in the next few months. For a space opera, this genre has so many expositions. I find it hard to write a soap opera set in space without going Joan Collins and some bitchslapping here and there, and your occasional drink thrown at your face with some lines like, "Bitch. I'm your father. Luke, stahhp. You're ruining zeh moment. Fow reals." Which memories are real and which are false? The next chapter will answer this query. Which is real and which is a figment of his figgy fig figeries.
  4. Specks of light entered through the slits in his eyes, stretching wide to open. Bloodshot eyes announced the red veins around his iris. Inside his apartment, he gasped for air as the lack of it choked him. Digging his hands around his neck, he unclenched his fingers one by one—he was choking himself. Fairly impossible if his mind doesn’t have a will of its own. But it does…in this version of reality. Moisture latched onto his skin and crawled out of it in buckets. He was sweating, and his

    Fractured (Pt. 1)

Because chapter 1 was meant to be chapter 4. 🤣😂 If I'm being really honest, I wrote chapter 1 to 3 (the ones I deleted) from 2012 to 2016 and stopped at the kayaking scene in chapter 2 cause I had no idea where tf the story was going. 🤣 Until I had a dream last year of June, where Black and Castle were having dinner at the Citadel and different creatures, which I only assumed were aliens of some sort, surrounded them. Their server was a Minotaur looking beast that had an apple-like watch that pulled the menu from the hologram projected by the watch. And I was like, huh...why not put them in space? Chapter 1 will make more sense when I write the second act. I centred the entire plot on Proxima. I'm still in the process of tying it in (or even writing it 🤔). I can safely assume that the next few chapters will hopefully shed light on the questions brought upon by Chapter 1. TAKE NOTE of the word "Hopefully". Haha.

    Fractured (Pt. 1)

'Cause I'm dreaming of you tonight 'Till tomorrow I'll be holding you tight And there's nowhere in the world I'd rather be Than here in my room Dreaming about you and me - From Selena's Dreaming Of You - That's the only clue I can say right now. The 2nd part explains everything. Stay tuned. Haha.
  7. I chortled at the "Tempted Fate" part. And yeah, I was guilty of editing a ton before the chapter was to be approved so I was tinkering with some minor fixes here and there like a raving madman. I'm sorry about the hassle @Cia. But thanks for the clarification. Already pm'd Cia about what to do with the remaining chapters. I promise to be a good patient boy for the remaining postings.
  8. The still glassy waters of the Hudson River reflected the gleam of the first rays of sunlight. The morning skies were bruised and gave the river a fresh chance to bathe in the first few lights of the sun. Within the reflection, the image rippled. It began warping, undulating, and was hastily ripped by a firm resolve as the definite thrashing from a distance blazed through, disturbing the river out of its serenity. Blades dipping in and out like a train; the blade of an oar repeatedly slici
  9. So, I've posted about 8 chapters in advance of my story that's meant to be publicly posted on a weekly basis using the scheduled posting feature. But I couldn't seem to find the latest chapter, chapter 2, on the sidebar with the list of stories that have the latest story updates. My story doesn't seem to be updated either if you look for my story on the stories tab. It says, updated on 02/07/2022 (the day where the 8 chapters were approved—me thinks), when, as per the latest chapter update scheduled for today, it should've been updated...today which is: 02/12/2022. I'm unsure if I should have just posted every chapter on the day of when I'm submitting it so that at least those interested in reading would have an idea that the story has a new update since it will pop-up on the exact date it's been updated. If in case that the remaining 7 chapters won't be prompted as a new story update, and the story gets stuck on 02/07/2022 as the date it was last updated, then is there any way to have the 7 remaining chapters deleted, so I may post it weekly instead?

    (ACT I) Black Reaper

I will Daddydavek. I'm hoping I'll be able to explain it without having my mind explode first. Haha.

    A Torador's Anathema

Thanks drasawzall. 🙂 These characters have been living in my head for so long. They must be written otherwise my head will explode. Haha.

And that will be answered in the 2nd and 4th chapter. Stay tuned. 😆

    A Torador's Anathema

Thanks Headstall. I wrote the prologue and Chapter 1, back in 2012. I continued writing the story last December of 2021. This is definitely a journey. 😀
  14. ACT I: YEAR 3075 On the blue planet of Proxima lies a small Noridian island surrounded by the Hanoptic Ocean. Swirling vortices puffed out by the twin Berenberg volcanoes kept the island away from the prying eyes of its surrounding inhabitants. A leeward volcanic path filled with blue ores and pink thrystones led into the valleys of the pearl tipped mountains. And beyond those valleys, the shadow of the dying sun eclipsed the inlets of purple mounds of rocks and green clay. Past

  16. Currently Reading Leviathan Wakes by James S.A. Corey. I'm obligated to read his entire Expanse Series for research. I'll probably finish this by 2050 amongst the rest of his 100 novels (he wrote 10 books for this series).
  17. I've currently played Shin Megami Tensei V. I'd say I got addicted to that game for a wonderful month or two. I haven't played a Pokemon game since 2005. Haha. I might start again if Arceus goes on sale.

I'm not really in the business of being a grammar nazi douchbagger, but this one is triggering me. I apologize in advance. It's impossible to use 'slitted' in the context when used as a verb. Slitted means 'to make a long narrow cut'. Unless you're using it in a context where someone has just scalpel'd his eyes or slit his eyes, like in a reference to someone slicing one's throat--then yes, it's possible. Slit-eyed/slit eyes is the adjective used to describe the narrowing shape of an eye. ...the accompanying spray forced my eyes to keep squinting. ...the accompanying spray forced me to keep my slit-eyed gaze. or ...the accompanying spray forced me to keep my eyes narrowed to slits. And if slitted-eyes are an adjective, it is to describe reptilian, cat-like eyes...like the vertical slant of the pupil of felines or reptiles. I think owls have them too...not sure. (returns to the shadows)
  19. My mom lives in Sunnybank Hills, Brisbane. I'd been keeping tabs on her everyday. I can't believe what's happening down there right now. I can't believe so many horrible things have been happening just this year. The start of the new decade and we get this for starters.
  20. I personally prefer to write with no distractions. Although sometimes there are songs that resonate with what your writing. I just can't focus if I'm in a busy crowded place--tried the Starbucks route, I ended up Youtubing and googling random crap unrelated to what I'm writing. I get distracted easily that it's not healthy, specially if I'm googling information. One thing leads to another. Let's say I'm searching for a skipper boat in the Mediterranean. Skipper Boat > Greece > Holiday Destinations in Europe> Malta > Hotels in Malta > Wiki Malta> Axis Siege > Phoenicians > Byzantine Rule > Alexander The Great > Alexander Bisexual?... Although I have a screenplay writer friend who cannot write...I mean, cannot frigging write without action music blaring in his ears. You know 24 (The series) type of background music that gets your adrenaline pumping. That's his thing.
  21. Trust me. If you're quitting smoking, your brain is recalibrating the hormone levels as it adjusts the loss of nicotine. Think of the chemicals in your brain as a weighing scale. By quitting smoking, you've tipped the balance of your brain chemicals by taking out nicotine as the source of a primary booster for dopamine--the mood elevator. So anything that you associate as pleasurable will be re-tuned and readjusted by your brain as it resupplies itself with a more natural source for 'happiness' that you'd once gotten from smoking. When I quit smoking in 2016, the first month, I was drinking 3 to 5 litres of water a day as my body flushed the nicotine out of my system. 2 months later, it was hard for me to get boners...I'm speaking of forcing myself to jerk-off in order to get off for the sake of getting off paired with semi-hard erections. I was dating someone working in the field of medicine at the time, and he said it was normal for those suffering from any addiction to undergo physical and emotional changes. And yes, I even had a 2 to 3 week phase where watching videos about owners reuniting with their pets, wedding proposals, animal related videos, soldiers coming home always made me cry. It was so random...I think I even cried from watching a car commercial. And that lasted until the third month when it was the complete opposite. I was getting boners almost every single frigging time. Supermarket--random boner at the produce aisle. Picking my dry cleaning--random boner while waiting for my turn. Walking to the mall while texting a friend--random boner that I had to readjust and I don't wear underwear so it was troublesome. At a meeting--I'd cross my legs while discussing work. Eating dinner outside--I'd cover my lap with a napkin. And then a few months later, it subsided. I'm not overgeneralising my experience with everyone's experience--but I did quit smoking as in 0 cigarettes from day one until now. It didn't quit in moderation, I stopped cold Turkey. I also had a bet with a friend that I wouldn't last for a month without cigarettes so...challenge accepted. Going back, I understand what you're going through. The highest likelihood is that whatever you're experiencing right now, I'd bet it has to do with your body adjusting its brain chemicals. You'll like dick again--pinky promise. It'll come back with a raging vengeance...bonerfied.

Wow. He just spotted a model whilst in the middle of a shootout in a zombie apocalypse. 😁
  23. It's supercalifragilisticexpial-ecstatic Even though the sound of it Is something quite ecstatic. If you say it loud enough You'll always sound ecstatic. Supercalifragilisticexpial-ecstatic. I imagined my uncle singing the ecstatic parts. It's deftly atrocious.
  24. There's this story set in Australia about this guy named Matthew Kingston, this surfer bloke named Brad. It's probably one of the most thoroughly articulated stories here with excellent writing. But I can't seem to find it anymore from this site. And I can't find the author either. I read it back in 2017. i want to recommend it but I can't find it unless someone has the link.
