I think I may have been forced to try sprouts many decades ago. Even smoothed in gravy the taste was ****.
but back to the story… it’s going really well. There is something about out of season resorts/towns that is so provocative of memories and feelings. If you have read the masterpiece “Hotel du lac” you will know what I mean. Anita Brookner, the most amazing author who paints her novels it seems. James is doing a similar job with Ravelo, in my opinion.
I agree with all the above. A truly excellent and pleasurable chapter. I wonder how many more there will be of this installment in the series. Great depth of characterisation as usual with the typical Arbour twists! How this man tortures poor Granger and his devoted fans!
a really, really, enjoyable chapter. Thank you. A great treat on getting home from a ten-hour day. 👏👏👏🏻👏🏾👏🏿👏
So you should be! Yes, I’m a binge reader and now viewer. Did White Lotus in a couple of days, so good. If only there were “normal”, mainstream gay characters in movies. Series are improving, slowly
Another powerful installment in the life of CJ and family and friends. Parts of this are tough reading as the author shows us how his skills have developed since he started these tales years before.
As an adult CJ starts to redraw relationships with the dads and Caesar, especially, is struggling to accept that the independent grown man he formed with Brett, is actually independent.
Overall, a great installment. 👏
Another excellent volume in the series. This time the focus is on politics and the lead up until the day the music died and the draft Dodger began his reign.
the author shows, yet again, his skillful characterisation, the blending of the Clinton’s, Obama’s etc into CJ’s story. Beautifully written with excellent and realistic dialogues throughout. A masterclass.
The volume is which CJ and the Squad leave their schooldays behind. Their future as young adults lies ahead in the next episode. Whilst not quite as much raw drama as earlier volumes, this has the feeling of closure. CJ and Owen are in a good space, their relationship develops as both mature.
This is another great installment of one of the best sagas on the site. Easily 5*****
The fifth installment does not disappoint: for bikers there is a visit to the Holy Grail of HDs; for non-believers there is Owen and the Blue Mountains.
take your pick, both part come together as a great binge read. Enjoy. I did.
Wow what a chapter. I was really enjoying it so much. The MOMA scenes were great, even JJ happy by the end……
and then the airport scene. Travis’ father is now public enemy number 1. And when Brad hears that Darius would have been blown up if they had boarded that plane. Interesting times ahead.
Mark, you’ve done it yet again. I’m in awe. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I totally agree, well put. After a couple of teasing the reader episodes, ms Fox served us up a v tasty sixty-nice. A really good chp for a Friday pm. ☺️
It would be really difficult to have to choose just one of the books in this impressive series, but for me there is something very special about the trip to Australia and seeing the moment when Owen and CJ catch eyes of each other. Their budding romance is exquisitely paced and realistic.
Bravo

Felt inspired to go back to the earliest parts of this saga and, like a good red wine, they have aged really well. This is an excellent account of the next stage of CJ’s life as he deepens links with his DC family.
Great stuff
I’ve just the latest chp and I think it is the author’s gift that he can get inside his character’s head. I heard myself telling Robbie not to stay with Alex, the reader knows it will end in tears, and yet I feel drawn, yet again, into the latest saga.
Dodger says it’s a kind of soap opera. Perhaps but it is a bloody well-written one.
keep it up, Dodger and a huge thanks. 🤗🤗
24 hours of intense drama and the climax is still to come. Must set my alarm for next week in case I get the exclusive first glimpse of the MOMA party……. Great stuff, Mark
