A sweet growing up tale with our hero fortunate in his dad and closest friend. It’s a v short piece but packs in a lot of emotions. I hope to read more by this author. well worth a read. 👏👏👏👏👏

Spot-on comment from @Mancunian. It’s like a time line with incidental events, usually involving Pam!, along the way. As others have rightly commented, Pam is so different from the wonderful host back in Australia years ago. But then the guys have grown up and are a world away in so many ways. A lovely, multi-textured chp. V well written. Thanks Carlos

Passing through chapter 69 seems a good moment to reflect on how this installment is going. It is already huge: in length, in number of characters, places and evermore dramatic action. And yet the young protagonist and his friends are growing and maturing. “Wise” older characters are exposed as hypocrites by the Harvard-bound intellectual analysis of Will. This story is working in so many ways and at so many levels. So far it has been a deeply satisfying read - I await the next 69 chps (🙏) with bated breath. bravo.

Wow, another dinner party drama, but a 5***** one in all senses. Will wanted a gap year full of experiences, well he’s got them but far closer to home and more dramatic than his trip to Australia. another really, really good chapter. The creativity of Mark A is stunning. Many thanks for sharing it with us. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Written in 2013 this story has aged like a vintage port. It is beautifully written and a tough read emotionally. It deserves to be rediscovered in 2013. READ IT!

I’m writing this without seeing other comments, but I can only say this: I have thoroughly enjoyed not only this series but, if I’m honest, the Bridgemont series even more. There are always great characters, amusing and scary incidents, but above all great story-telling. I hope you enjoy the stories as much as I have. Regards

I don’t think they made her cry. I think Own and CJ are doing a great job. I teach 6yr olds who are totally ruined by indulgent parents and then see the results as their parents lives are hell as they become kings and queens of the home at 12. BTW, the story is great as I sipped a chilled glass of Rueda. Cheers!
