    Sadly, I must disagree with drp. How many of today’s youth will ever have heard of the word? For me it is always connected with this phrase from the Chief Rabbi of UK in the 90’s at an amazing ecumenical meeting in Westminster Abbey of leaders (I was a substitute!): ”Civilisation passes from one generation to the next by the gossamer thread of memory.)” so true

    Three most enjoyed by me: 1. Master & Commander - the trip to the W Indies and meeting his grandfather 2. Black Widow - the evil bitch in all her glory 3. Northern Exposure - an historical and geographical tour de force Three best ever moments: 1. Will destroying clothes, shoes and cars before running away 2. Granger brings the ruby back to king and is knighted 3. Zach appears on Ru Paul’s Drag Race and can’t believe he’s been outed…. At last (we can all dream, no?) Thank you for many years of pleasure, @Mark Arbour 🤗

    I wasn’t offered the vaccine even though it’s recommended in USA for those on the treatment I was on. Then it hit. 150 spots on right leg. Pain was unbearable. Two months off work. Urgh.

    We get done on 19th. I take immunosuppressants so it’s kind of obligatory for me. Although specialist now thinks I “maybe” having a toxic reaction 😱”let’s review in January… “ meanwhile do I want to inject myself with something which could be causing liver inflammation?!

    My iPad has gone on strike 😱with a permanent black screen. I have to read a real book in bed 😱😱😱😱😱 looks like Im going shopping tomorrow and no Xmas presents for dogs or anyone but me!!

    Beyond the call of (MIL) duty. To avoid SIL and other family duty here in Valencia, we ar e heading to Pyrenees for a week in a tiny village. Anything to avoid political arguments at Xmas eve dinner - moderate left v ultra right. Add alcohol and retreat to, yes, the Pyrenees….

    It certainly doesn’t snow on the east side thanks to the Gulf Stream. My parents had palm trees growing v well in their garden near the sea near Dublin. No frost either, but the humidity….. urgh
