“He caught a bug and the Doctor had to keep him under surveillance while he was treated. He’s fine now and the bug isn’t contagious.” Nice save, Adam! I was wondering about contagiousness. Hopefully, the rest of the worms will be gone by tonight. However, they urgently need to get in touch with Alex’s family. Others may have the same infestation and need prompt medical attention!

That’s what was going through my mind. This sounds much worse. I really don’t know what the treatment for tapeworms is, so… Poor Alex must be feeling miserable right now. Lucky for him, Adam stops at nothing to make sure his boys are OK. He also got the right doctor to take care them, too.

I missed this chapter when it came out because we were having some WiFi issues. What a lovely ceremony to remember all those who had been looked over in the struggle. It was a lovely gesture for Tala to include the boys. Hopefully, this will help give them closure regarding their father’s death and the reason for it. I especially loved the prayer in the different languages. I thought it was quite fitting. Now, on to the next chapter!

Benden survived as it was originally, also. It’s been a while since I read the Landfall series and I can’t remember most of the names, but I do remember Kitty Ping!

Adam is going to have to have the Librarian stock up on Arthurian tales!

It takes a while for something as complex as a college to be organized and built. It’s not just slapping up a building—it’s organizing the programs, educators, degrees, certifications, etc. In real time, it would take years. We had a couple of local facilities here go from business school to college to university over the period of 30 years and they had the grounds and facilities already built! But, Kev. Really? Mr. Pain and Mr. Riske were dentists? Oh, wow. That’s like having an ornithologist named Mr. Bird! I believe you. Just—wow.

I just reread this chapter and, again, I thought that Coach who told the runner he just had a sprain was not at all good at his job. Only the most callous, careless person would tell an athlete who has fallen to get back up before being checked out by a medico. He could have not only destroyed his athletic career, he could have handicapped him for life! If Adam could see it was more than a sprain, that Coach most certainly should have. He should be reported for neglect and endangering his athlete and fired.

Nope. His reign of terror continued into the classroom when he returned to another school as a Phys Ed teacher. He claimed that the dozens of grievances were because we all lied about him. Repeatedly. He told the HR director and Assistant.Superintendent that one to their faces right in front of us! We were happy they removed him after Spring Break that year. We got a new principal who was/is wonderful! He was open, friendly and LISTENED! He DISCUSSED with both the faculty/staff and the kids. What a difference! Even the assistant principal was replaced because he had been trained by the first one and was becoming a Mini-me version. No one knows what happened to him.

I was also going to say that age has nothing to do with arrogance. I had a principal in his 40s who was so arrogant and full of himself that I was warned by the Union when I was assigned to that school. I was one of about 15 teachers who finally managed to get rid of him by filing so many grievances that whoever was protecting him downtown couldn’t do it anymore, especially when the new HR director saw the 1.5 inch thick file on him! He ruled (yes, I use the term purposely) through intimidation and fear. I don’t think I ever saw him when he wasn’t screaming at either the kids or insulting the faculty/staff. The last I heard, he actually lost his Administrative license and was teaching phys Ed in an elementary school, but his ‘style’ hasn’t changed! An example is the year I had pneumonia in January so bad that I actually got hospitalized for a week so they could do intravenous antibiotics. I had already missed a week trying to unsuccessfully get antibiotics to get rid of it. Over 30 years, I averaged 3 days out per year. That year I had 17 due to the pneumonia and some oral surgery. Everything was documented with doctors. He wrote me up for excessive absences! Mind you, he was out more than 2 months of that year! Like I said, arrogant.

She is very cute and well-loved and she loves her Mommy and Daddy very much! 🐶

Doesn’t work. Puppy dog follows us too the bathroom. If we don’t close the door completely, she noses it open and tries to come in. I have a cute pic of her peeking around the edge of the door with just her left eye and half of her nose, hoping I’ll invite her in (she really does have puppy dog eyes and she’s 2 1/2 years old!). She will stretch up and scratch on it, even if no one is in there!

It works quite well, especially when I get interrupted by hubby, the dog, breakfast, etc!

I like to save my readings until the morning postings appear. That way I get 2 chapters and it makes them seem longer. 🥰

I keep picturing someone like Vin Diesel.

That could be why the preparations are especially distracting. They’ve not had anything like this before on campus. They are probably excited out of their minds! Seth is also excited about the venue, the possibilities and the free hand he’s been given, but he really should have discussed construction schedules with Adam before starting. I’m sure all kinds of rumors are flying among the boys about what will happen and be available at the Faire. Adam may want to give a heads up to the boys before the rumors get too crazy! 🏰🎠🛡⚔️🔮🤴🏼🧝🏼🧙🏼

I don’t remember the info about the Seven. I may go back and reread, but right now, I can’t stop watching that panda! He is so cute swinging in his hammock. All he needs is his Wolfie companion! 🐼🐺 -
Chapter 20: Introductory Interview

Aren’t the Seven the gods of the shapeshifters? I say it that way, because I’m not sure if it’s just the lycans or if others are included. We’ve already met Bol and Terik, I think. They did have bad news for Vincent regarding his battle with Stefan, but it would better to ask would be Mason or his parents. -
I’m with you! Yuck!

It’s great Mr. Parnell is letting the boys bring his Marine items to school, but they better leave the bayonette at home. Jackson would love nothing better than to get them on a weapons charge!

It’s so cute that the boys line up for their kisses.

Gerry is realizing it because he is now experiencing it first hand. The boys don’t even know that they are missing out, because they think this normal. This is why they are lapping up Adam’s attention so thoroughly—they are feeding and filling up on something they didn’t even know they needed. This is why so many rulers have problems and what Adam is hoping to circumvent by establishing a close brotherhood among the boys now. As they experience the love from Adam, his family and the right staff that he is hiring, they will start to understand how to truly relate to and support one another. This will carry on to adulthood, and hopefully, into their own parenting. I’m certain many will send their own children to the Academy. BTW, when does the Girls’ Academy open? They need this just as much!

Kids don’t care. It’s the adults who get all bent out of shape and start screaming and panicking. To the kids, it’s, “You like that person? Cool.” Done. People could learn a lot by actually paying attention to the kids around them. Kids are wiser than most people give them credit for. I taught for 31+ years with an average of nearly 1,000 students a year. Yes you read that correctly. I was the school Librarian in a variety of schools and dealt with kids from pre-school through high school. I wish I could share some of the deep conversations I had with them. They constantly impressed me.

Gerry is young. Barely into his teens, I believe. That is an especially difficult age to lose a parent, let alone his last parent, leaving him, effectively, an orphan. Thank goodness his father knew how things were between Gerry and the stepmother and put Adam between them after the glowing reports he had received about the school’s President. At least he knew he was someone to trust, although I am a little surprised a regency had not been set in place already. Maybe the stepmother tried to make herself the Regent and the King managed to thwart that when Gerry showed up with Adam. I got the impression that Gerry and his father were actually quite close. It was good they were able to say goodbye, despite what that witch tried to do. It was good Gerry had Adam as his support during the funeral and after. He may be a Crown Prince, but he is, first and foremost, a little boy who misses his father. He should also thank his friend who alerted Adam about what was going on with Gerry so that Adam was able to take action. That is what this school is for—to instill the kinds of friendships that will reverberate down through the years so that the boys, and the men they will become, help each other without thought. Code of the Knights of the Square Table!

I didn’t forget it, but it hasn’t really been started, so I wanted to concentrate on just the Academy for the moment. However, that’s another line to be explored! CJ! You can’t abandon this story now! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
