Thank you, Eric! Now I know!

Adam had no reason to know there were 2 people on campus with the same name and may not have seen the names in print, so didn’t realize the difference. However, the student should have asked which Dr. McMillan did he want and explain why. Then again, what kind of an office does the medical doctor have that doesn’t give any kind of an indication that he is, in fact, a medical doctor? At least the Coach was able to set things straight and get him to the correct office. And, at least, the Administrator (Director? Headmistress?) was understanding about the whole thing to continue with the interview after all this. As far as Billy is concerned, isn’t he entering his Senior year? He may get a scholarship offer because the Coach would like to have him on their track team. Billy would like to be closer to Anne. However, he’d have to think about all the things he’d give up (family, friends, Senior year with friends, etc).

OK. Where do you guys get all these cute, moving emojis?! I want to send you hugs, but don’t know where you find them! So,... {{{{{{Eric}}}}}} Best I can do for now.

Welcome back! My sympathies on the anniversary. It seems like such a short time ago, yet it seems like forever since I read about it. There is nothing I can say except to offer my condolences. I’m so sorry to hear about your troubles. Hopefully you won’t have too much trouble finding a new place. I hope they are giving you enough time to arrange all of it. Moving is not something that can be done in a week.

I don’t know who sang it, but wasn’t that the theme song from The Love Boat?

Windmills could work. They can get them above the tree heights without harming many, or any, trees or disturbing the wildlife. 👍

That almost sounds ominous!

Of course, Scotty can help! He may not be able to lift the big stuff, but he can certainly open packages and put wrapping in refuse bags. He can help by getting the scissors, screwdrivers, screws and other equipment that might be needed and save Adam and Billy steps. He can get refreshments for everyone. He can put things in drawers and on shelves. There’s a LOT he can do to help when opening and setting up the cabin! How old is he, anyway? I get the impression he is around 6-7 years old. That’s plenty old enough to help (while still getting ‘babied’ a bit (just a little) as he has been). Just a comment on the solar panels. Unless they are above the tree line, the panels won’t work for them. They have to have a clear access to sunlight for a certain percentage of the day. The cabin is in the woods. They would have cut down a significant number of trees in order for that to work. We’ve been looking into it for our home.

OK. I remember them talking about “The Elfslayer” in Brothers. I just didn’t put the two together. It would be nice to see more connection between the stories, I guess, but that’s just me.

OK. You leave a notation of how life goes for the next 15+ years for Finley and Zaddis. I thought this meant you were done with the story, which made me upset, because it was NOT the way to end the tale. Then I look at the story listing and see that it is still “In Process.” Meaning there is more to come? I certainly hope so! This is no way to leave our heroes! ‘Til next time...

In This Life, Sometimes You Need to Take Risks.

Wow. That was a doozy of a chapter. For a first-time author, you are certainly hitting it out of the park! Keep it coming! -
Wait, In My Next Life I'm a LITTLE GIRL!?!

If this is your first attempt, you have a great future! -
Welcome back! I was so happy to see Sentinel Oaks in the lineup today! I hope it won’t be another long wait for the next chapter. This is such a great story, especially right now. I think the discharged doctor and the malignant Elder have joined forces. Come on, guys! Get your acts in gear. It looks like Tanner might rescue them himself now that he’s figured out where they are! 🤨 Can’t wait for the next installment!

I AM a Librarian! This is the magic of our position. We have access to the entirety of knowledge of humankind. My students would ask me questions and if I didn’t know the answer, I was never afraid to admit it and tell them, “Let’s find out!” We show people how to ferret out information for themselves. In addition, we have the myriad worlds imagined by every author who ever put their words into print to discover and explore again and again, whether by ourselves or by introducing others to those worlds. We also have the ability, power and responsibility to educate the public to make sure they are informed in all matters. That is why you will find information about both sides of issues, no matter how heinous. It is a powerful position and we take it very seriously.

We have to go an entire summer without our CJ fixes? How can you be so evil?! Seriously. Once again, you have given us a wonderful story. Thank you. You are a talented storyteller with intriguing, interesting characters a reader wants to stay with. I, for one, will be missing my Friday morning treats am looking forward to the next story. In the meantime, have a great summer. Hopefully, restrictions will be lifted more and more and life will get back to a more ‘normal’ stance. Enjoy the beautiful weather and meeting friends and loved ones.

Cadet First Class • VII
Clancy59 commented on Carlos Hazday's story chapter in Cadet First Class • VII
Graduations are always such happy, exciting, emotional events. Graduation from such an elite school has to be even more so. I know I was tearing up with happiness and pride for Ritch, especially with the Presidential recognition (along with the sympathetic desire to sink through the floor!) and I know this is a fictional story and character! That’s how well you bring your characters to life. Congratulations on another job well done. I am sorry to see it end, but look forward to the next installment in the CJ Chronicles! -
This land is your land? No, it's really my land!

You seem to have found your Muse again! You are doing a great job, although these cliff Ike’s are a bit hard on the psyche! Keep these chapters coming now! -
Are you getting more names? I know I added 3 to the chapter where you asked. BTW, since you already have an Owen, you can change mine to Paul. 😁 I am thoroughly enjoying this story. I had to reread it from the beginning, however, because of the long break. Looks like you’re on a roll. Keep up the great work!

I feel so sorry for Finley. He has so much being thrown at him in such a short amount of time and he hasn’t been able to get his mind wrapped around all of it yet. Now, here comes Zaddis and he gets hit with what may be an attraction (or is it a friendship he has never really had before) that represents an emotional quagmire that he has never had to deal with. Its no wonder Finley is flying! Good thing Zaddis is recognizing that he needs to back off, even if he doesn’t know why or for how long. Finley will get things under control. It will just take longer than the 3 whirlwind days he’s had thus far. THEN we can REALLY watch things take off!

I was surprised by Vincent’s attitude. I was expecting a sterner, more serious temper. Instead, we have what seems to be a loving, understanding father trying to protect both his Prince and his son.

It could still be another student. Teachers are often very busy at the beginning of a class taking care of the nitty-gritty like attendance, dealing with questions etc. Students are often tasked with doing simple things like passing out assignment papers or any of the thousands of little jobs in a classroom. Many kids live to do this!

As I was reading the beginning of the chapter, I couldn’t help but think about how things have changed in the past 30 years. How did we ever survive without cell phones and texting?! LOL! We even taught my then 80-year-old mother how to text 15 years ago! Later, I couldn’t help but think that Seamus is in a very fragile place right now. He was finally getting everything under control. He has a loving family, he got rid of a toxic employee and he was regaining control over his businesses. He’s not quite on firm footing yet, but he’s getting there. Then Menacing Mike makes a reappearance and threatens his rocky status. Seamus has to remember that not only did he save Kelly’s businesses, he multiplied them. This is something no one seems to be giving him credit for and Menacing Mike cannot take that from him, no matter how he threatens Aiden has a possibly serious accident that sends both of his dads (and make no mistake about this—Seamus is his Daddy as much as Matt) into a tailspin that they don’t quite know how to handle and they both overreact to all the crises. Judging by how the various employees respond to Seamus (and, by extension, Matt and Aiden), they are loyal to him and love him and how he treats them. I think if Menacing Mike and his co-conspirators were to ever actually get their hands on any of the businesses, they would find themselves with a full-scale mutiny and desertion of those employees. Seamus is just has too much piling on him right now to realize all this. Maybe his Board can help.
