    @Bill W My guess is eventually. Beings with red eyes don't generally let themselves be seen only to fade away. If they did, it would make for very boring stories with people knitting in rocking chairs.

    Sorry for the short delay in finishing this story. My husband and I caught Covid over Christmas. We're both finally feeling better. Hopefully, I'll be feeling up to working on this story again on Monday. Thanks to everyone who's been enjoying the adventure with Reilly and Nicky.

    @Paladin, I was soooo torn between love and humorous. I keep saying this because it's true, they either need more reaction choices. Maybe they can make it so you can choose more than one reaction. Can't wait to see if Jordan works the same magic on Cameron's parents, and Jordan needs to trust his mate and share his past. Maybe while staying the night in a hotel on the way back home, the two of them can have a talk about what's not been disclosed.

    Hope your Christmas is nice, too, @Paladin. This chapter turned out gooier than I ever thought possible. It's fun creating games and working in substances other than water.

    Very interesting approach you've taken. Your characters display the right amount of emotional depth to be endearing, while maintaining a kind of mysterious and aloof aspect to their personalities. I'm really impressed with how you've balanced a sort of clinical research feeling with personal and intimate details thrown in for decoration and interest. Awesome first story, @Tomkin Watts

    @chris191070 Do you know how hard it is coming up with rides and games for a winter carnival that doesn't involve water? I had a blast thinking of things that wouldn't cause frostbite.
