Another excellent chapter. Devon being reunited with Jazz and Brandon being made to feel part of the family. The grand reopening was a huge success that may now be tarnished by the hate-mongering gossip press. I'm worried for all and especially Spin, I almost feel that after the dam burst they should have been a bit more wary. I'm also worried about the potential damage this could cause in the upcoming custody case for Jesse. Sadly, this kind of sensationalism is the very thing certain elements of the community will feed on, I just hope that all those within the community who have seen and experienced the good work that goes on at the ranch rallies behind family.

There's a map in the album section of VVesley's profile page that gives a really good picture of how everything is laid out.

Yesss, great to see a new chapter. A lot of setup going on preparing us for some fun and exciting as well as dangerous times. Kades' uncertainty about his future was to be expected, living in the moment and enjoying as much of this novel new fling until the bubble burst. I can imagine his confusion and suspicions over Adrians' marriage proposal and the sudden shock and probable disbelief at being informed of his birthright. I hope it will understand the necessity of keeping up the secret of his heritage all these years, I'd love to see a father/son reunion moment. Devan deserves that for the sadness and loss he's had to endure. Clever girl Talia, hiding in the last place they would expect. If she can succeed in killing Yago and claiming generalship of his lands, his loss would practically end the civil war. However, I suspect it's not going to be that easy, but it would be so satisfying to see him suffer at her hands after what he put her through when she was growing up. Finally the Hallowed Order is obviously acting to fulfill someone elses agenda, I wonder who's? Alexs' plans for a new world should align with their ideals so doing anything to interfere or oppose his plans goes against the grain. There is the beginning of disharmony in the ranks as some methinks are smelling a rat. It occurred to me in a new world there'd probably be no need for the Order, could it be certain elements are fearful of such a future and trying to hold onto what little power and influence they have? As you can see you've raised a lot of interesting questions, looking forward to seeing what your clever mind has in store for us. Great stuff as usual, thanks.

Wow some of the comments seem way off base and confuse me but never mind thankfully you have things well in order.

"Second Chances", perfect, just like the story.

10/10 for this chapter. Very satisfying to see Dylan face his demon and finally get some closure. Cody is obviously going to try to lie his way out of this but with any luck enough of his victims will come forward to ensure he gets a long prison sentence. TJ is being given a chance to show he can change and be a better person, his actions have certainly earned him that much. Not sure where exactly Erik is going to fit into this, I'm wondering if he was just the sacrificial lamb to bring the Cody thread to an end.

Great chapter. If TJ is genuine about changing and makes up for the cwap he's caused then it's worth giving him a chance. To my eternal shame I was a TJ, what better way to hide my sexuality than be the biggest homophobic ahole in school. I was never physically abusive but I was always very vocal about how I felt about "those" people. When I was finally outted that actually made things even worse for me, we reap what we sow. Was worried about Dylan thinking his not feeling good was probably going to turn into something a lot worse. These guys have all suffered in one way or another so I hope you will be kind to them.

Abslutely loved it, any other words just wouldn't do it enough justice.

I'm glad that want to help Devon, but I just hope he doesn't do anything to cause a problem for anyone at the ranch.

An awesome chapter. I'm with Zak though, Idgie?....please no.

Yes finally. I was waiting for Jesse to come back. For me personally, his story was the most tragic. When he ran away with Kaya I just had to know he was going to be ok. Now I can rest knowing he's going to be better than ok. Can't thank you enough for this tale.

I agree with Harvey, it's too easy to brush something off and not realise something is seriously wrong until major symptoms prevent themselves. Yes it's all well and good to have a check-up just in case, but if you're anything like me, trying to get me to see a doctor if I think I'm feeling fine is a battle you won't win. Also good point about the uncle having plenty of time to do his evil deed, besides getting rid of Mattie was a last resort back-up plan if they weren't able to find a loophole to break the trust agreement. Of course we know Zak, the glue holding this story together is going to be ok so not really a scary cliffhanger, more an oh no what now moment. Of course when the story is complete makes no difference.

Would love to know what's gotten into Zephyr. Suggestions it's part of the uncles plans seem unlikely. There's no real certainty CJ or Mattie would ever ride that particular horse. Going round doing things to random horses would begin to arouse suspicion. Mind you, doubt the uncle is any kind of master criminal so he may not have considered any of that in his haste to clean up his little loose end. Anyway, more importantly, we have to worry about Zak. It's easy to forget he's not the most experienced rider and his over confidence may have clouded his judgement a bit. If he is too badly hurt it may be a while before Dusty in his over protectiveness will let him near another horse. CJ and Danny could become daddies, yay. It was interesting Danny seemed to react more negatively knowing it was a girl and not another guy. I was a bit worried when I thought Danny was going to run again, surely not. Thank goodness he had sense enough to come back but it demonstrates the potential is still there. A child may be the clue that binds them permanently.

Absolutely love it. I'm so glad I read all the interludes first. They were great stories but always left me wanting more. Now I'm beginning to see just how well planned out it all was. Brilliant piece of writing. So glad to see Tanner again. Waiting with keen anticipation for one more particular stray to be wrangled in, can't wait to see him.

Darn, I was so concerned about the parents reactions I didn't even consider the siblings or just how greedy and dangerous uncle Juan could be. Mr. Alvarez turnaround and acceptance of CJ and Mattie as well as their significant others and friends was an unexpected but pleasant surprise. I hope the security teams are still in place, they may be needed. Mind you, the thought of being watched would be creepy enough for me to want to put a stop to that. Great stuff.
-
Ohhh this is so good. Won't bother speculating, I'll just go onto the next chapter. I'm wondering if future plans for the ranch are now going to include a kennel so Mattie can run some kind of dog rescue and or breeding program? He can become Cesars' pimp.

Dylan recounting his story was almost as hard as reading about it the first time, just minus the shock factor because we knew what happened, still tough though. Dylan finally finding someone like Danny who has a better idea of what he's going through helped him open up and begin to cleanse his troubled soul of all the dark rubbish left there by Codys' abuse and betrayal. I know Cody did a runner but hopefully we may hear that someone finally caught up with him and he was made to atone for his crimes. The reunion of horse and boy, maybe old, but is still very special and can never get enough of it.

I live with someone who has a mental illness and must take meds daily. When he's good, he's good but when he backslides it's no fun. Through their shared experiences Danny and Dylan will be good for each other in helping come to terms with what they have to deal with. Dylan not wanting to carry his pills on him is a constant battle that I'm very familiar with. I think if Zak were aware of Dylans' past experience he may not have brought up the finding a boyfriend idea. And no, definitely not TJ. Have an ideas myself, hope it's the same young man you have planned.Fantastic chapter.

Damn that one made me cry. Just the thought that people can be so cruel really rips me. It goes on all the time and sadly the animals have done nothing to deserve it except fall into the wrong hands. I know Dylan will eventually open up to Zak so he can work his magic. Dylan and Dodger reunited will draw on all the love of the Triple J and crew to heal the wounds of abuse and neglect. Love this story so much.

Awesome chapter. The plans for the ranch and their futures are looking good. Lets just hope there are no problems with securing the trust funds. The birthday is going to be epic. Like Dusty I'm really hoping it won't go as badly as expected but at least everyone will be prepared for the worst. Looking forward to seeing what horses they find for Maxie and Dylan. Also wondering which of the short characters may be coming to the ranch as a special friend for Dyl. Loving it.

Half the time reading your story I'm either smiling or crying joyful tears. This story is so beautifully written it's hard not to be touched by it.
-
Awesome chapter. A lot was explained and it all made perfect sense. A lot of folk are concerned about CJ and Matties parents. Well we all know the father is going to go off, so long as things hold off till CJ gets control of his trust fund then it won't matter a damn. The only way he could hurt CJ is by forbidding Mattie to see him. That would probably hurt CJ more than losing his money. Not being of age would mean Mattie couldn't move in unless the father kicked him out. Tricky situation but I'm sure it will all work itself out.
-
Awesome. What a great way to bring Danny back. Sure we all want to know what the hell happened, but having him back is the main thing. Little Maxie just continues to effuse the cuteness factor. Such a great story.

It's good seeing Dylan again. I'm hoping this means you'll be bringing in all the characters from the shorts. That would be so cool and such a neat way of tying all the stories together. This is really neat stuff, love it.
