An evening party: Dan’s tale
CincyKris commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in An evening party: Dan’s tale
The thing I was most impressed with was the very natural POV change. This chapter had a unique voice. Dan's chapter sounded different than Vaughan's chapters, great job!- 12 comments

I think both men are on the same page, sorry I couldn't resist. They will know each other so well, my prediction is the first meeting will start with a long hug. A hug full of relief, anticipation, and maybe even love.

Kai feels like he is getting ahead of himself, he's almost giddy with anticipation. But I think all of his intentions will be well received by Adam. I hope he stays true to himself and doesn't hold back.

I am up to date on the Thompsonville stories (posted on other sites), but somehow missed this one. I know how Justin's story ends up, but I'm enjoying reading his experiences. I do not remember anything about his current relationship with his father, so this will be new to me. If his Dad's reaction is anything but extreme guilt (at least after he's processed it), then I hope his mom has his back and kicks his dad to the curb. If not, write them off, they're not worth it. I know, easier said than done.

The romantic in me loves this story so much. In my head, I'm able to visualize this as if it were a movie, which is weird because I like books better than movies. I am looking forward to their meeting in person, but not too soon, I like the slow build via letters. Also, I appreciated the floorplan, after all, the house is as much a character in this story as the humans.

"Death Of The Disco Dancer"
CincyKris commented on CasualWanderer82's story chapter in "Death Of The Disco Dancer"
As sad as Ollie's story is, and despite his terrible father, I can't help but wonder why Ollie didn't just get on a plane and go back to Greece to see Niko in person. -
Wow, Ollie had a rollercoaster ride of emotions! He was up when shopping for his bedroom furniture (no doubt his mother never let him choose anything), way up for the awesome party, way down for the graveside scene, back on a safe, level surface with his new dads. Loved it!

Mitch has turned into a giddy fan girl, I love it!!!! If Kit and Mischa could see all his texts, they would be laughing their asses off! As attached to Taylan as I was, I'm surprised how much I'm looking forward to Mitch and Tom.

I have to admit that I think Nathan is being pretty selfish allowing Cormac to sacrifice himself when he knows he will be dying a painful death very soon. That being said, if he had volunteered, I doubt Brohm would let him. I'm doubtful our main character will actually die, so now I'm wondering if his cure is contained in the book.

We finally have both of our guys all in! They were fun, playful, sexy, honest, and completely comfortable with each other. I loved it!

What a wonderful surprise! This interlude feels transitional for Tom. He's starting to think about settling. While I don't see him following the exact same path as Kit and Mischa, he's definitely thinking of Mitchell as more than his ex's hot dad.

June Signature Feature: Spirit of Fire by Stellar
CincyKris commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
I read this a few years ago, after I was caught up on his Aspects of Dawn series (which is one of the best space sci-fi sagas I have read). I'm enjoying the reread. Even if you're not a huge fan of fantasy, any story with writing like this should be devoured! Mr Crawley did enjoy cigarettes, an imported brand being the preference. He smoked prodigiously and was a man of many vices and attachments. An aficionado of trenchcoats. A connoisseur of fedoras. A lover of single-malt, though on occasion an aged bourbon was acceptable. A driver of Cadillacs. Big on cynicism, wearing sunglasses when not required, pork sandwiches and connecting the occult to the mundane. Not a fan of alimony, his first ex-wife, his second ex-wife, alligators, reptiles in general and heights. Of medium verticality, average rotundity, erratic profundity and questionable morality, he had dark hair, appreciable cheekbones and a natural grimace that would scare small children. Private investigator by trade, Crawley was every bit the hardboiled, noir fool he imagined himself, catapulted from 80 years ago into present day. Yet, no longer a PI, because, well, it was Agent Crawley once more, was it not? -
Chapter Twenty-Five: Assembly
CincyKris commented on drown's story chapter in Chapter Twenty-Five: Assembly
And Egyptian mythology is something new to me, but ever since Stargate, I just knew I had to work it into a story—it is the most fascinating to me. Almost all of my Egyptian mythology knowledge also comes from Stargate! And Michael Shanks was as yummy as maple syrup! -
Now Azula and Raith are officially on opposing sides. But in their hearts they are lifelong friends. Will Raith actually marry? Will he be able to stop the evil machinations in the Capitol? Will Sura be able to forge a beneficial alliance with another empire? So much to look forward to!

Chapter Twenty-Five: Assembly

Speaking of mythology, I meant to ask if you came across the website "Norse mythology for smart people", when you were doing research? I learned a lot when I looked up Ginnungagap. -

Grey is enjoying playing alpha, well when he remembers that he is the alpha. I appreciate the use of the moms to summarize the lead up to this point in the story. As much as I enjoy the mixed mythology, it can get a little swirly in my head. I look forward to the druids making their return. Also, I prefer the scent of maple syrup covered pancakes to broccoli casserole. -
"There Is A Light That Never Goes Out"
CincyKris commented on CasualWanderer82's story chapter in "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out"
There will be no doubt be obstacles in their way (it wouldn't be much of a story if there weren't), but the guys have already experienced things that are only fantasies for most people. -

Party time at the Villa Torronia
CincyKris commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Party time at the Villa Torronia
Since Francis Heyward was the contact source for this working vacation, it is not surprising there is some dodgy happenings. I bet Paola and Heyward's fathers did business together, now they are left with not entirely legal leftovers.- 16 comments

The funniest part of this chapter was that Clara was more pissed off with getting her sleep interrupted than happy her adopted brother had returned! Someone needs to start a pot of coffee! I wonder who Sebastian’s avatar will be?

Who would have thought that the Keith from the beginning of this story would be attending board meetings and speaking to ladies' groups! Certainly not Keith. He is traversing his new world hesitantly, but efficiently, just like his driving and business.

Chapter Twenty-Three: Breach
CincyKris commented on drown's story chapter in Chapter Twenty-Three: Breach
Omg, I typed the wrong date at first and you had me stumped! National Polio day???? I retyped and instantly figured it out! Though I'm a little sad there will not be any alien viruses collected from the asteroid! Maybe the next story. 👽 -
Chapter Twenty-Three: Breach
CincyKris commented on drown's story chapter in Chapter Twenty-Three: Breach
I googled September 24, 2023 (of course I did!), I think this is the most relevant: NASA's OSIRIS-REX mission to retrieve space rock from the asteroid Bennu successfully returns to earth, landing in Utah Or maybe it was Taylor Swift being seen at a KC game to watch Travis? -
It's easy to forget, when you live in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, or most of Europe, that there are still places that people are legally executed just for being gay or lesbian. On a lighter note, I am the IKEA assembler in my household, and I am a lot like Keith, very methodical. Admittedly, they are mostly smaller pieces like a coffee cart and a small rolling kitchen island. But I have also assembled my gas grill and my exercise bike/clothes hanging station.

Greg certainly is a complex character. His manner is not "to the manor born", nor is it artsy, but he has found a comfortable and happy home in an art and artisan colony. Perhaps the comfort with both himself and the lifestyle is due to Len. I'm wondering whether Heyward will be a positive development for him, or will it upset the apple cart? Donald Mitchell is as much of an ass as I thought.
