Chapter Twenty-Five: Assembly
CincyKris commented on drown's story chapter in Chapter Twenty-Five: Assembly
Grey is enjoying playing alpha, well when he remembers that he is the alpha. I appreciate the use of the moms to summarize the lead up to this point in the story. As much as I enjoy the mixed mythology, it can get a little swirly in my head. I look forward to the druids making their return. Also, I prefer the scent of maple syrup covered pancakes to broccoli casserole. -
"There Is A Light That Never Goes Out"
CincyKris commented on CasualWanderer82's story chapter in "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out"
There will be no doubt be obstacles in their way (it wouldn't be much of a story if there weren't), but the guys have already experienced things that are only fantasies for most people. -

Oliver is starting to find himself. He has some big decisions in his future. -
Party time at the Villa Torronia
CincyKris commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Party time at the Villa Torronia
Since Francis Heyward was the contact source for this working vacation, it is not surprising there is some dodgy happenings. I bet Paola and Heyward's fathers did business together, now they are left with not entirely legal leftovers.- 16 comments

The funniest part of this chapter was that Clara was more pissed off with getting her sleep interrupted than happy her adopted brother had returned! Someone needs to start a pot of coffee! I wonder who Sebastian’s avatar will be?

Who would have thought that the Keith from the beginning of this story would be attending board meetings and speaking to ladies' groups! Certainly not Keith. He is traversing his new world hesitantly, but efficiently, just like his driving and business.

Chapter Twenty-Three: Breach
CincyKris commented on drown's story chapter in Chapter Twenty-Three: Breach
Omg, I typed the wrong date at first and you had me stumped! National Polio day???? I retyped and instantly figured it out! Though I'm a little sad there will not be any alien viruses collected from the asteroid! Maybe the next story. 👽 -
Chapter Twenty-Three: Breach
CincyKris commented on drown's story chapter in Chapter Twenty-Three: Breach
I googled September 24, 2023 (of course I did!), I think this is the most relevant: NASA's OSIRIS-REX mission to retrieve space rock from the asteroid Bennu successfully returns to earth, landing in Utah Or maybe it was Taylor Swift being seen at a KC game to watch Travis? -
It's easy to forget, when you live in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, or most of Europe, that there are still places that people are legally executed just for being gay or lesbian. On a lighter note, I am the IKEA assembler in my household, and I am a lot like Keith, very methodical. Admittedly, they are mostly smaller pieces like a coffee cart and a small rolling kitchen island. But I have also assembled my gas grill and my exercise bike/clothes hanging station.

Greg certainly is a complex character. His manner is not "to the manor born", nor is it artsy, but he has found a comfortable and happy home in an art and artisan colony. Perhaps the comfort with both himself and the lifestyle is due to Len. I'm wondering whether Heyward will be a positive development for him, or will it upset the apple cart? Donald Mitchell is as much of an ass as I thought.

This was a win-win for Phil, he gets rid of Candy, gets the ring back, and maybe gets a new boyfriend.

I remember from a previous chapter, Keith saying Maria would have made a better mate than a girlfriend, but there was too much history at this point for that to happen. If he's still bothered by his relationship with her, he should meet her to resolve those bad thoughts. But he should remember his prior thoughts, Maria would not make a good mate (friend) at this point, too much water under the bridge. I feel for the guys dealing with unpleasant clients, I work in retail and frequently have to plaster a fake smile on my face.

The witch. What will she want in return?

That sounds like my kind of weekend! I've done several tours of breweries and distilleries here in the states and like to check out brewpubs when out and about. I think that Keith's improved confidence (he brought up the idea of Thomas moving in) will only make their relationship stronger. Allison made the comment that they "make a good pair", they balance each other out.

We are finding out that River fell into his Kenji addiction very quickly. I wonder how long it took Kenji to admit that River is not just a scene. I like that we are peeking into the noise that is River's brain, Kenji seems to own the key to the quiet. It's no wonder that he will own an actual key to River in a few months.

I'm feeling echoes, or perhaps precursors, of some of your other characters. You previously stated this story was written prior to the ones already published on GA. Allison testing an inheritance from a defunct factory, Keith's love of architecture during travels, Thomas' relative "worldliness" compared to his partner's. I'm glad you decided to bring this one into the light.

I finished Deeds yesterday and am enjoying the further adventures of Nathan and Brohm. But I had to laugh at the anachronistic appearance of the "receptionist". He led them to the main office and approached the receptionist. I'm wondering what a medieval receptionist does, since there are no phones? I instantly had the picture of Carol Burnett's Mrs. Wiggins sitting at her desk chewing gum and doing her nails! Perhaps she organizes all of Laird's "files". He tapped a finger on their file I would think paper was expensive, our boys must be pretty important to have a file created. Laird now sounds like Tim Conway in my head! I really am enjoying this entertaining tale. I am concerned about the beggar's ability to see through their disguise. Is he actually a beggar?

Things are looking positive regarding the moves and fostering. I think Beau and Skye must be much more organized than my family, A full move in 3 hours! I'm jealous.

Keith has spent so much of his life in his dad's shadow and community, he constantly feels inadequate in "middle class" life. But, I think he is realizing he is not as different from Thomas and Allison as he thought. Most of us who grew up working class and/or middle class would truly be a fish out of water in a "properly posh" place. But those places tend to keep out all but the rich.

Insert pithy title here
CincyKris commented on Leslie Lofton's story chapter in Insert pithy title here
Wow, the big, gay, Thursday wedding was perfectly off-kilter for these perfectly off-kilter women. Felicity got her fancy dress-up wedding, Ashlee got her Dad back (he has redeemed himself), Uyen finally let loose and will hopefully get laid, and Sarah is back in her groove. She pulled out some of that determined girl from the old trailer and literally told Jeff to "shit or get off the pot"! And he did! You left our girls with promising futures, not fairytales, which I appreciate. They will continue to have ups and downs, but they now have enough confidence to get through the downs. Thank you! -
Even though all the pieces of your puzzle remain stubbornly separate, I feel like I just found a corner piece with the story of the Jasu Kirmith. I look forward to discovering how this huge discovery will effect our beloved heroes and our hated enemies.

River's brain short circuited because it received a moment of quiet. Now he is going to chase that feeling. If an addiction actually makes your life better, shouldn't you seek it? The danger is putting someone else in charge of not only his body, but of his mental health. Scary for someone as stubbornly independent as River. I think Kenji appeared in River's life at the right time.

I have a feeling that Greg will shake up their comfortable routine. Hmmmm, just what does Mr. Heyward have planned for the supposedly straight Greg?

Lots of activity and developments! It sounds like they are going to set up the shops first, clear out the current workroom to be a bedroom for Ollie. Or move to the currently furnished apartment so Ollie has a bedroom, while working on the shops. Then move back to the townhouse while the apartments are being combined. Then move into the new bigger apartment. All that moving makes me tired just thinking about it!

More comfortable settling in. Before long, Keith will wonder why he was so scared. It's great to see the guys happy and anxiety free.
