    Chapter 12

This was a win-win for Phil, he gets rid of Candy, gets the ring back, and maybe gets a new boyfriend.

    Twenty-Six

I remember from a previous chapter, Keith saying Maria would have made a better mate than a girlfriend, but there was too much history at this point for that to happen. If he's still bothered by his relationship with her, he should meet her to resolve those bad thoughts. But he should remember his prior thoughts, Maria would not make a good mate (friend) at this point, too much water under the bridge. I feel for the guys dealing with unpleasant clients, I work in retail and frequently have to plaster a fake smile on my face.

    Chapter Nine

The witch. What will she want in return?

    Twenty-Five

That sounds like my kind of weekend! I've done several tours of breweries and distilleries here in the states and like to check out brewpubs when out and about. I think that Keith's improved confidence (he brought up the idea of Thomas moving in) will only make their relationship stronger. Allison made the comment that they "make a good pair", they balance each other out.

    Chapter 15

We are finding out that River fell into his Kenji addiction very quickly. I wonder how long it took Kenji to admit that River is not just a scene. I like that we are peeking into the noise that is River's brain, Kenji seems to own the key to the quiet. It's no wonder that he will own an actual key to River in a few months.

I'm feeling echoes, or perhaps precursors, of some of your other characters. You previously stated this story was written prior to the ones already published on GA. Allison testing an inheritance from a defunct factory, Keith's love of architecture during travels, Thomas' relative "worldliness" compared to his partner's. I'm glad you decided to bring this one into the light.

    Chapter Three

I finished Deeds yesterday and am enjoying the further adventures of Nathan and Brohm. But I had to laugh at the anachronistic appearance of the "receptionist". He led them to the main office and approached the receptionist. I'm wondering what a medieval receptionist does, since there are no phones? I instantly had the picture of Carol Burnett's Mrs. Wiggins sitting at her desk chewing gum and doing her nails! Perhaps she organizes all of Laird's "files". He tapped a finger on their file I would think paper was expensive, our boys must be pretty important to have a file created. Laird now sounds like Tim Conway in my head! I really am enjoying this entertaining tale. I am concerned about the beggar's ability to see through their disguise. Is he actually a beggar?

    Chapter 19

Things are looking positive regarding the moves and fostering. I think Beau and Skye must be much more organized than my family, A full move in 3 hours! I'm jealous.

    Twenty-Three

Keith has spent so much of his life in his dad's shadow and community, he constantly feels inadequate in "middle class" life. But, I think he is realizing he is not as different from Thomas and Allison as he thought. Most of us who grew up working class and/or middle class would truly be a fish out of water in a "properly posh" place. But those places tend to keep out all but the rich.
  10. Wow, the big, gay, Thursday wedding was perfectly off-kilter for these perfectly off-kilter women. Felicity got her fancy dress-up wedding, Ashlee got her Dad back (he has redeemed himself), Uyen finally let loose and will hopefully get laid, and Sarah is back in her groove. She pulled out some of that determined girl from the old trailer and literally told Jeff to "shit or get off the pot"! And he did! You left our girls with promising futures, not fairytales, which I appreciate. They will continue to have ups and downs, but they now have enough confidence to get through the downs. Thank you!

    Blood And Stone

Even though all the pieces of your puzzle remain stubbornly separate, I feel like I just found a corner piece with the story of the Jasu Kirmith. I look forward to discovering how this huge discovery will effect our beloved heroes and our hated enemies.

    Chapter 13

River's brain short circuited because it received a moment of quiet. Now he is going to chase that feeling. If an addiction actually makes your life better, shouldn't you seek it? The danger is putting someone else in charge of not only his body, but of his mental health. Scary for someone as stubbornly independent as River. I think Kenji appeared in River's life at the right time.
  13. I have a feeling that Greg will shake up their comfortable routine. Hmmmm, just what does Mr. Heyward have planned for the supposedly straight Greg?

    Chapter 18

Lots of activity and developments! It sounds like they are going to set up the shops first, clear out the current workroom to be a bedroom for Ollie. Or move to the currently furnished apartment so Ollie has a bedroom, while working on the shops. Then move back to the townhouse while the apartments are being combined. Then move into the new bigger apartment. All that moving makes me tired just thinking about it!

    Twenty-One

More comfortable settling in. Before long, Keith will wonder why he was so scared. It's great to see the guys happy and anxiety free.
  16. This is a wonderful continuation of the fantastical adventures of Kieran and his ever widening group of friends. We get a taste of tradition, politics, intrigue, and new realm powers. I highly recommend this joyful story!

    Chapter 25

Thank you for this satisfying ending (for now). Our boys certainly influenced the results, but for all anyone in power can tell, it was all done naturally. Making the vote one of conscience allowed the members to decide for themselves, which is always the best way to make changes and keep the members engaged. I look forward greatly to new adventures!
  18. I'm wondering if we'll see more from Josh, since he has not been a central character thus far. I am surprised he didn't go after Sarah immediately upon hiring her! He's kind of a pig, but at least he made a good decision. I frequently wondered why Ashlee had never been to therapy, now I know! Other than her orientation, she is a clone of her mother. But at least Ashlee is trying, her mother is still oblivious to her own mental health. Cathy is receiving the kind of criticism she has been dishing out for years. That's the problems with fundamentalists, they love agreeing with each other in their harsh judgements, but if you just barely sway out of the predetermined lane, you're on the ass end of all those judgements. Her father doesn't seem to have a strong personality, this quote sums him up as a person: Fred did his best to keep her happy, ready so step in with a hug, a kiss, and a quickie when her grit ran out. I'm so glad to see Ashlee and Felicity in couples therapy, they both are trying to compromise, Felicity with actions and Ashlee with restraint. Hopefully Ashlee will see a psychiatrist at some point to work on her OCD. This is a great first step.

    The End

I wonder what Mwangi's secret ability is? I think Jamie will be much happier at the British version of the X-Files, plus all the officers have some kind of power, something Mulder and Scully lacked. I agree with the other readers, you have a wonderful set-up for great future stories, if you wish. I don't think I've ever read a more complete characterization of inherited arrogance. RMW will go to his grave knowing he is justified in all his decisions due to his birthright. This is the attitude that conquered nations in the age colonialism, alive and well in modern times. His type will never change.

    Chapter 11

So River is used to "patching up their tears and holes with pieces of myself. I’d been doing it all my life"(great line, by the way), but he still lives within himself more often than not. He loses time with his obsessions, but then I think this describes a lot of artists. We were never allowed inside River and Kenji's relationship before, I wonder how Kenji will handle River's occasional complete self absorption. Or is Kenji what River needs to temper his OCD?
  21. We had an angst free meeting of the casual friends, on both sides. A good first step before meeting the family and close friends.
  22. CincyKris

    Chapter 15

I'm not generally a bloodthirsty person, but when kids and animals are abused, I wish the worst on the offenders. I'm hoping that the child molester gets shivved in jail before he puts the victims through the extra pain of a trial. I'm also wondering if there will be tension between Andre and Ollie when Andre's secret is revealed to him. Andre already feels guilty. I'm hoping the reveal to the family goes well. On a lighter note, the teens are having a great time and bonding well. I think Jackson will fit in well. I am also a dark chocolate fan, I only care for milk chocolate if caramel and nuts are involved, but even then would prefer it to be dark. I have never had Tim Tams, but don't really care for packaged cookies. But a big breakfast is a cherished treat!

    Chapter 23

It appears that Kieran has collected another friend!

    Sixteen

This was a lovely chapter, I hope that Keith's confidence continues to increase as he sees all these "educated" people responding well to him. His dad did a hell of a job on him, it's going to take a while to overcome that. I also loved the pudding-basin haircut description, which I assume is what we Americans just call a bowl cut.
  25. I had hoped for better. You are a pretty good author, but you don't care about being authentic. I have read plenty of fiction writers who do research and present stories made better by feeling real. I have also read great stories in which the author posted a disclaimer stating their lack of expertise. In those cases, I didn't let inaccuracies bother me, I was warned and I accepted that. You don't seem to care that the lack of authenticity pulls the reader out of the story. I wish you well.
