    @Cane23 has always hinted that it would require something to break Lyn and Brad's masks...the latter especially. That's why for the next coming months we are going to theorise for those of us who do, about what causes the reckoning that separated them for 8 years .

    From this chapter, it seems Hugo can be slow on the uptake sometimes😂...I remember in the previous chapter the Priestess warned him that Alec must and will undergo the trial. The Fiddler also warned him that Alec would undergo the trial. The way I see it is he is so proud of his intelligence ,almost verging on arrogance that he does not seem to understand that sometimes there are things that you cannot outwit. I like the subtle lesson there Sorr. Lydon😂.. You really struck Gold with the character of Alec Stoker.. I bet he is so fun to write...He is brimming with confidence I almost envy him😂 I am so excited for the next chapter...I want to Alec go through your version of the Running man😜

    But he did try it @Cane23...the part where he says Jace is not cheating ..when he knew Noah already knew...Noah is a perceptive person..and he knew ..I like to think him talking to Chris was just to give himself sometime so that he wouldn't break down..though he did eventually break down

    Self-denial can be an addiction..And like some folks here have repeatedly mentioned...Lyn would rather not see what is in front of him,at least at that point, because then he would have to completely break down all he has built up in his mind...So this sort of self-denial is sort of Self-preservation on his part .

    That last scene comes to head in the previous chapter ...I mean the chapter in which Alexander and Lyn partner up to play against Bradley and Luke...it's subtle but you can tell that Bradley notices how close they are getting....he 'subconsciously' starts to realise that just maybe his hold on Lyn's attention and devotion is beginning to ebb.
