I cannot help but feel sorry for Josel. It is said that one does not choose their family but Josel really had the worst luck when it came to his mother...eh . That being said . I personally do not think he is evil .Misguided sure ..As someone who yearned to get a father's approval that has never come ,I can somewhat relate to Severin. Zereth is totally without any qualms, we saw how he is not beyond using his children to achieve his goals .We saw what he did with Lanelle. And he is doing it now with Severin ...His affection is currency he doles out in exchange for doing something that grants him or brings him closer to what he wants . That being said, @mastershakeme sets the foundation for the cracks to appear in Severin 's mind in this chapter.....his interaction with Caelo and that exchange with Zereth I believe sets the path for Severin to start forging his own path .

I feel vindicated that waited till the end to comment again. One always needs to prepare for the lesson at the end of each story from yours truly.🫡 For me this one has been about self-introspection. In a previous comment @Cane23 subtly hinted that Malik's reunion with Daniel would be a defining moment. At least I got that impression and as Maestro is always high on the right shit, he was right. I like to believe that going to Malik/Cam's home was the final piece in Daniel's self actualisation . Cam/Malik is a mirror of sorts with the only difference being that Daniel has finally managed to free himself and is no longer the reflection he used to be . The scene with Cam's family and the raw open honesty and attention that Cam's wife and daughter express towards Cam and Daniel to me feel like the point at which Daniel finally understands who he is. It is no wonder that the dynamics of the hotel coupling that takes place later in the chapter have changed. While the first encounter was an imbalance, this final encounter shows that balance has been achieved...It anchors Daniel and I believe that is the moment that Daniel adopts Amor fati. By the time Daniel links up again with Max at his apartment ,he has finally achieved the self-introspection that I mentioned at the beginning of my comment and that scene is made all the more profound and beautiful by your superb writing . When that last line of writing appears, I cannot help but feel pleasure in finally meeting Daniel too. Thank you ...this has been one sumptuous feast !

Blimey!..the die is cast in this chapter... This chapter really portrays how fear and bigotry can mess up a society... I like to believe deep inside Father Michael is torn..Between his heritage and religion...I have been there...at least most of us who come from the global south can attest to the struggle of having to honour ones'cultural norms and rites and the ever imposing religion . That being said ..this was yet another good chapter especially since it had been a while since chapters dropped here .Thank you!

Reading this chapter feels me with anticipation...the good kind and totally cements me on Severin 's side. I am starting to feel he is being treated 'cruelly' even though it is needed to help the bond between Ember/Trillion strengthen..to drive the plot forward and all. I feel that even though he is a 'lost' child, he deserves to be treated better ...how Caelo and Trillion is and will treat him from this point forward vindicates how he totally feels about people..After reading yesterday's chapter about how he has yearned for people to see him and reach out to hold him without having to work for it and for Trillion ,who has been his only friend, to start drifting from that because he has suddenly decided he wants to grow up and build nurture his mate bond with Ember. That this chapter invokes such emotion in me is testament of your brilliance and writing @mastershakeme...😜🫡...Got me all flustered and whiny... Let me go get some sleep...Thank you!

I like how with each successive chapter and book in the saga you accurately portray how power corrupts. The capacity of human to inflict untold horrors and pain upon each other .. The Monteilons are so greedy for power that they never took pause to reflect on what the power vacuum will lead to ..Who would fill that gap. In thinking they are strategic and wise they actually come off so tragically foolish. Zdain just been re-introduced but even he could he tell at first sight that Olza Temogam is bad news. Like how wilfully clueless can one be like Elyssa and Dareis..All the occupants in the room seem to read the room but those two useful idiots....I swear.eh Thank you!

Yet another good plot development.... Something has been planted in the Caelo/Severin ship..hihi That being said....can we start a guessing game after this chapter on who Caelo's father is.....after that narration my coin is on the dastardly Zereth himself...With the older sister being the one that was gotten ridden of the by the Quad in the previous book ..Could be wrong though!🤣😂

Whoa...I believe this is my first comment..thank you for this chapter I believe this chapter benefitted from having a multiple perspective format. especially the part involving Caelo and Severin. That being said ...I would not wish yo be anywhere near that company at the moment...the tension and awkwardness that is going to happen now that Trillion has finally gotten his head out of his ass and read the room where Severin is concerned..haha.. Thank you!
