  1. Valkyrie deals with very difficult subject matter in a sensitive, compassionate, and thoughtful manner and presents us with a provocative and impactful story. It will give you a true understanding of why Lady Justice is blindfolded and carries a scale, and it also explains why the law is based on the motto: 'innocent until proven guilty'. It's an emotional read, because the author expresses the feelings of the accused very eloquently, but it's well worth putting up with any discomfort you might feel as you read this dynamic and compelling story.

    Accused

A wonderful and sensitive story that was dealing with very difficult subject matter. It was easy to feel everything that Patrick was going through and feeling, since you described it so eloquently, and I was pleased that you decided to give the story a happy ending. Thank you very much for sharing this story with us and for doing such an excellent job of tackling the subject matter.
  3. I'm sure many of you have read and are familiar with the Harry Potter books, so allow me to use that to help describe this story. This is also about a world containing magic, but the magical school in this world is quite different than Hogwarts. Here, the equivalent of Malfoy doesn't have a Crabbe and Goyle. He has only one close friend and together they terrorize the school completely and go unchecked and uncontrolled. They have one particular student they like to torture, but when Owen turns 18 he decides to leave the school and the community, which in this case is called a coven. This changes things, but to find out what happens next, you'll have to read the story for yourself. If you enjoyed the Harry Potter stories, I'm sure you will enjoy this as well. It's not as long and merely concentrates on one aspect of what is happening, but it's well written and very compelling. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop, and I think the same thing may happen to you.

    The Story

A well written and compelling tale. Once I started reading I couldn't stop. I was drawn in and couldn't leave, much like those who lived on the island. Thank you for this wonderful tale.
  5. If you like reading Stephen King, then I'm sure you'll enjoy reading this story. It is well written, offers vivid descriptions, and a plot that will draw you in. Once I started reading it, I couldn't stop. I felt compelled to find out what was behind the scenes and responsible for what was going on, and I'm sure you will find yourself in the same predicament - drawn in and searching for an answer.
  6. The Blackburnian Warbler is often mistaken for an Oriole.
  7. Coffeecakes don't have frosting, and instead are covered with crumbs or streusel topping.
  8. This isn't your typical love story, but it's well written and I'm sure it will touch your heart , the same way it touched mine. You've got two guys, Trent and Armie, who come from different worlds, but in their own way they're both lonely. But they're not going to be lonely any longer. Read it, and I promise you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

  9. Gary, I thought I had read all of the anthologies, but I now realize I missed a few and I'm late making comments. Please don't hold that against me. Anyway, I loved this story and didn't feel it was creepy at all. It wasn't like Trent was stalking Armie, he was merely noticing him when ever he saw him. Obviously, Armie is a very attractive young man, even if he is an escort, because he hadn't resorted to drug or alcohol addiction to deal with the pain of his parents no longer wanting him to live at home. Armie also seems to have a caring heart, since he works helping others in his spare time, and Trent had noticed that he appeared lonely. Trent was too, but it took him a while to finally work up the courage to approach Armie, even if he had to 'hire' him to spend time with him. Armie was being very stubborn at first, even though I could tell he wanted to stay with Trent, almost as much as Trent did. I'm glad it worked out and I hope they're both very happy together. Thank you for this beautiful story.
  10. Slightly overweight, thank you.
  11. As long as you don't refer to me as rotund.

    Chapter 28 S1

Yes, Mac is definitely becoming aware of the dangers, and the episode with the hunter shooting at Pops when he was a bear, only magnified the harsh reality. I'm glad you are enjoying the information about animal behavior. I was torn for a time about how much to include, since I didn't want to bore some readers by sounding like a high school biology teacher, so it's nice to hear that someone values the information. You're right. If someone had been around to see them entering the hohrahn naked it would probably have sparked a great deal of gossip, even though the Navajo are generally accepting of gay interactions. I appreciate your feedback. Terry.
  13. A beautiful and touching story about how hiking first helped a man connect with his developmentally disabled brother, and then later helped him build an intergenerational relationship with his teenage grandson. And on top of that, there are fascinating descriptions of the natural world they see on the hikes. The story is perfect for nature lovers and anyone who enjoys a heartwarming tale.
  14. A beautiful story about friendship, love, and loss. It's an emotional and captivating tale that will leave you feeling good for having read it.

  15. An entertaining poem, and you can feel the love in friendship in the author's words. It's not very long and definitely something you'll want to read.
  16. If you love a good mystery, then this story is for you. Even when you think you know the answer, you come up with more questions. You also see why the accounts of eye witnesses aren't always what they seem and can't be counted on to be true. You might even come away saying, "What did I miss?"
  17. A charming and enthralling look at two men, one straight and the other gay, who are different in many way, yet have so much in common. The story is a cross between Groundhog Day and Freaky Friday, as the two men get to walk in the other's shoes for a while, and not only gain a new understanding about each other, but have a chance to improve each other's life. I truly enjoyed it, and you probably will as well.

    Switching Sides

I started reading this story when it was already late and I was tired, but once I started reading I couldn't stop. I found the story intriguing, enlightening, and humorous, and I enjoyed it immensely. I'm glad I took the time to read it, and kudos to you for presenting such a wonderful story and doing such an excellent job.

    Chapter 1

My belated condolences about your mother, and as a vet myself, I'm saddened to hear that you were a homeless vet in Dallas. Am glad that things seem to be better for you now, and thank you for sharing your wonderful stories.
  20. Would you be referring to George CoSTANZA from Seinfeld?
  21. Even limericks are written in witty stanzas.
  22. A well written and touching tale of an octogenarian who'd moved to new home, and then while out for a walk suddenly realized that he couldn't remember anything about his life. Of course, there are extenuating factors involved, but I won't tell you what they are because I don't want to ruin the story for you. However, it made it even more difficult for him, so what will happen now that he's lost in a big city?

    Chapter 1

This story scared the living crap out of me. I'm not to that point yet, but at 75 I wonder how long it will be until I find myself in that situation. I had an aunt, my mother's sister, who suffered from dementia, and she could barely recognize or remember the names of her own family. I pray I never get to that point, but thank you for this thoughtful and touching tale. Charlie was lucky that he ran into thoughtful and caring individuals who were willing to help him.

    Liam's story

A biting critique of Ell's job as a moderator and a humorous. voyeuristic view into his love life. Thanks, Northie, for the for the lapses into the monotony of work and the laughter that can be created by a devious mind.
  25. If you like spooky tales, then this one's for you. It's chilling, creepy, and will make your spine tingle as you read each line, and the feeling of foreboding will engulf you as you peruse this well-written story.
