Bill W commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
When I first saw this word I thought it might have something to do with flowers as well, because I thought it might have come from the same root word as florist. I was close, but then again not close. lol -
Hmmm, I wonder if they had examples that they based this evil creature and their description on.

Chapter 1 - The Fraternity House
Bill W commented on Bill W's story chapter in Chapter 1 - The Fraternity House
W_L I'm glad you enjoyed this story and the fact that I used your prompt for it. It might not be the only time I use it, because fear of the unknown can also be frightening. Yes, Roanoke has been a lingering mystery and I've watched several shows that have discussed the possibility for what happened to it. One was about the meaning of the Croatoan that was carved into a tree. Did it mean they fled to Croatoan Island, did it have something to do with the Croatan native American tribe, or did it mean something entirely different? Another was about a patch that was found over an original 16th century map of the area that indicated a possible fort at a new location, which was previously unknown about. When that area was searched, they found several artifacts from that time period which gave another possible explanation about what happened to the colonists. The last was about the Dare stones, presumably written by Eleanor Dare, the mother of Virginia Dare. The show discussed if these stones indicated where the settlers went and what happened to them, as well as which of these many stones might have been authentic and which ones might have been fake or forged. In the end, it gave more possibilities about what might have happened to the colony, which I found to be very interesting and very spooky. Thank you for the idea and the feedback, W_L. -

I guess that means I'm a homo all the way, because I don't care for crunchy peanut butter. 😈 -
But you can always understand him when he's yelling for Sharon.

Make that 100,000 Dollars Bills and I'll be there. -
I've received a lot of very positive comments about The Fraternity House, if that will help.

I'm not sure which of my Halloween stories they would be, since I've written so many, but I hope you enjoy them.

I went back and read the story again, but I still wouldn't have figured it out that Darin was dead. I thought they were merely breaking up, and even though they both seemed to be in love, for some reason Darin felt it would be best. I couldn't figure out what that reason was when I first read it, and I thought the box with Darin's name on top only contained momentos of their time together, possibly including the photos that Hayden had promised to destroy. I'm glad you put a new light on what you thought was going on. Thank you.

Thank you for your kind words, @flesco, but you've built this story up so much that I may have to stop writing Halloween stories, because I might not ever be able to top it. I'm glad you enjoyed it, though, and I hope it doesn't 'stick with' you like a bad meal. 😜 Once again, thank you for the glowing feedback. -
Ah, thank you. That helps to make sense of the story.

Thanks, DaddyD. I'm glad you enjoyed this story and I'm glad Daniel wasn't at the frat house when all this happened. It's also an ego boost when my name is connected to the likes of Rod Serling as well. -

Thanks, Danilo. I'm glad you enjoyed my final offering for this Halloween. I don't know how I would have reacted if this situation had happened to me, especially when it turned out that the fraternity brothers were never seen again. Yes, I figured seeing the costumes laid out on the bed might elicit some reactions and a sense that the others had truly disappeared. Thank you for the feedback. 😎 -

Thank you, and you as well. You may not do up Halloween in South Africa, but I'm sure you still enjoy a spooky story to get the blood flowing. 😅 -

My name is Daniel Jamison and I’m a junior in college. I also belong to Delta Gamma Phi fraternity, and unlike most of my other fraternity brothers, my parents aren’t well off and don’t have a lot of money, so I had to get a part time job in order to make ends meet. Fortunately, I was able to get a weekend job working at a fast food restaurant that was only a couple of blocks from the fraternity house, so I was able to walk to and from work. Usually, going to work wasn’t a big deal, exc

A house full of spiders with each one weaving its web hoping to catch the fly of its choice. An intriguing story of opposite-sex and same-sex attractions at many different stages of life and the scheming involved in roping the object of their desire. Thank you for this wonderful tale.

Ten years after you wrote this, we still need more voices in the House and Senate to reach deep into their souls and do what is right, not what they believe they need to do in order to be re-elected. Although same-sex marriage has been legal for several years, recent decisions by the Supreme Court have put its future in limbo. We need those brave voices to speak up to offer and pass legislation that will codify same-sex marriage for years to come and improve the lives of future generations. Kudos for a thoughtful, powerful, and well-written story.
