  1. Thank you, Chris, and we all know this is a recurring problem for some kids. Thank you for the feedback and for writing the review as well.
  2. Yes, Chris, I had to think long and hard to come up with something unusual to replace what they had lost. If only if was that easy for others who encounter similar circumstances. Thank you for the feedback.
  3. I'm glad you enjoyed it and it was my idea of an unusual gift. Thank you for the feedback.
  4. Yes, short stories are nice to have around for when you don't have time to deal with a longer story. I never thought of having him make drawings, because they just wouldn't be the same, so I tried to come up with a way I thought he could retrieve the photos for them. I'm glad you approve and thank you for the feedback.
  5. I felt the same way about possibly someday possibly being able to retrieve memories from the brain. There's so many ways that people of lost photos of the past that they hold dear, in a fire, a flood, a tornado, or other means, so it would be nice if we had another way to retrieve them. Thank you for the feedback.
  6. Tony and Sean Morgia-Mulligan had been married for quite a few years, but recently they’d lost some items that they felt could never be replaced. One day, a young man named Jeremy Reinhart approached Tony and began chatting with him, and during their conversation Tony learned that Jeremy had a unique ability. In fact, Jeremy might even have a way to make up for their loss, but does it have a chance of working? This is my entry for the Fall/Winter 2021 anthology, ‘An Unconventional Gift’.
  7. I was running some errands one afternoon when a young man in his early twenties came up to me and spoke. “You got married today, didn’t you?” I was slightly stunned by his comment, but I composed myself and responded. “I was married on this date, but the wedding took place in 2008.” “Of course, I didn’t think you got married earlier today, but when I looked at you a series of images flashed in my mind, and I saw your gay wedding.” “Does it bother you that I’m gay?”
  8. "Alright you guys, that's enough. Get back in your seats and leave Chandler alone," I barked out as the kids on the bus were ganging up on their favorite target again. "Do it now, or I'll pull the bus over and we'll spend the next twenty minutes talking about this." Reluctantly, the bullies returned to their seats, but it didn't completely stop what had been going on. "Keep your hands to yourself as well, and leave Chandler alone or we'll talk about this for the next half hour instead.
  9. Chandler Drake is in middle school and rides the school bus that Bob Bell drives. They’re also neighbor’s, so when Bob sees that Chandler is being bullied, he wants to help. Bob does what he can, but he would like to do more. When he discovers a second boy, Nick Morenus, who lives nearby and rides a different bus, is going through a similar situation, Bob attempts to offer a solution to help both boys. Chandler has devised his own solution that works even better when combined with Bob’s proposal. Will this strategy solve their problem? This is my entry for the Fall/Winter 2021 anthology, ‘An Unconventional Gift’.
  10. Trent, as I said in my previous repsonse, this is not the standard at the hotel, so I hope you will give this series another chance.
  11. I knew some people would feel that way, but I wanted to do something different. Since the boys were the ones who initiated the idea, I felt it would be more palitable to the general audience, but obviously you don't agree. I hope you don't give up reading this series, because this is not something that happens over and over again.
  12. The killer clown and Jeffrey Dahmer entered my thoughts as I was writing this story. It's the only way I could make it sinister enough to be creepy and scary. Thanks for the feedback.
  13. Yes, Anton, Scott represents an untold number of LGBTQ youth that were rejected and unloved by their families. Hopefully, none of them will end up suffering the same fate he did. Thank you for this insightful response to my story.
  14. When I arrived for college orientation, I was surprised when one of the coaches approached me during a break. “Hello, I’m Coach Packard and I was informed that you were on your high school swim team, so I took the liberty of contacting your high school coach to find out how he evaluated your ability in the pool. He told me you were one of his strongest swimmers and you had great work habits. He also said you were extremely competitive, so I’m hoping you’ll be willing to join our squad.
  15. The stories were as follows: Seeking Justice (Oct. 11), Unwanted Perks (Oct. 13), Echoes From the Past (Oct. 15), Strange Things Are Happening (Oct. 17), and Unscheduled Recess (Oct. 19). The first three I went in and published manually in the morning when they didn't appear, even though I'd post-dated them, and the last two I edited and added a time to the post-dating and they posted on their own. I just thought you'd want to make sure they were counted in the monthly totals.
  16. @CiaThe Weekly Wrap Up missed my Halloween stories again. That means your new story count for October is probably five shorter than it should be. I'm not sure if you're concerned about that, but I just wanted to let you know.
  17. Interesting idea. I never thought about doing that. I'm glad you enjoyed this story.
  18. I second DaddyD's post. Well done proof team!
  19. Thanks, DaddyD. I'm glad you enjoyed this.
  20. Marcus Whaley is a fourth grade teacher at a neighborhood elementary school, and on Halloween he begins to notice some strange things happening. They occur on the playground first, but then he has a frightening encounter inside the school. What happened and how will it turn out?
  21. I had scheduled them for a date in advance, but when they didn't post by early that morning, I published the stores on my own. That might have had something to do with it, although I'm not sure.
  22. I take it short stories aren't included in the updates, because my Halloween stories aren't listed.
  23. Thanks, Danilo. There's nothing like a good haunted house story to get your blood flowing.
  24. Danilo, I'm glad you enjoyed this story. Yes, this story. like many others, could have had a follow-up, but who knows what might happen next year? I haven't written those stories yet. LOL
