    Gee, I'm old enough to possibly be one of the few here that has actually heard a calliope.

    I don't remember exactly when it happened, but It was sometime in either book 2 or earlier in book 3 of The Next Generation when Robert finally broke down and tied the knot. It would seem he just got tired of being alone, but they didn't have a big wedding, so kind of slipped under the radar. I hope that helps.

    When we were little, out parents would often read us gruesome fairy tales, such as Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, or the Pied Piper of Hamelin, and then try to assuage our fears about going to bed in the dark.

    There are two different possibilities for the origin of this word. It may come from the Sanskrit word bharati and eventually found its way into German and then into Middle English in the word beran (to bear). The other possibility is that it originated from Medieval Latin bodina or butina and then into the French word borne and then into English.
