I originally came to this series via the "Bridgemont " series, and it was only by the fan club comments in that series that I came to this series. This is the 3rd of the books and the focus has moved from JP to his younger cousin Stefan. It took me a bit to acclimatise to the new protagonist and the time frame, but this was the one that resonated with me, pre AIDS, sun and fun and Watergate bubbling along in the background. Honestly I think that I had about as much sexual excitement as Stefan at that time, so it rang very very true to me. Interestingly, Stefan is self centered and vainglorious and at times annoyingly unlikeable, BUT as a person who as found myself to be called "uncle dad" by two young children, his heart is in the right place. A very moving tale well told. Do dive in!

And there again @Mark Arbour, guessed the plot line, but nevertheless, fabulous story, next decade is my entry into sex and love, looking forwards to what you bring!

Thinking the trip to St. Louis and the death of Jeff.. perhaps closer than you could think?

I knew it! @Mark Arbour. Guess many chapters back, horse riding my ass...

Me thinks a school teacher /lecturer in our midst.. and one I have noticed in other stories, thankfully not as pedantic about "colour" and "realise" along with other wonderful variations of the joy/frustration of the English language 🙄 😀

Just adding my 2 cents, waiting for the next chapter in the Bridgemont series with the lovely George and felt that I should really start with this story that has such a strong fan club! Not disappointed so far, 👌 🙂

I know that underground tunnel pass so well, ah memories of the 80s..
-
I have sneaking suspicion that Andre might be "enjoying" JPs mother and the riding might involve more than horses...
-
So did not see that coming! Totally blindsided. Brilliant writing ✍ 👏 👌 👍 😀

Sitting here at home in Sydney with a glass of Brokenwood Cricket Pitch 2020 Shiraz Merlot from Pokolbin. Loved the self reference- in your heart you really are "true blue" eh!

As an Australian it gave me such joy to read a story set not only in my own country, but also my state and city. Most stories are set in the USA and in places that I have not visited or seen, so to know that my backyard was faithfully recreated is fantastic. The story is as one would expect from such a master craftsman, well paced, humorous and adds another step in the "Running with Pack" saga. Each story adds another layer and depth to the world created. A magical read

How about the Australian Prime Minister who went on holiday to Hawaii while the country burned, firies wouldn't shake his hand when he was forced home and was shouted at in the street by people who had to be evacuated. Utube will have Scott Morrison shame recorded forever. Clearly lost the election

I read the 1st and more of this series, my surprise and delight to find it set in my home state of New South Wales and I know of the places and understand all the idioms. Smoke from the bush fires reached Mt. Cook leaving snow stained rust red , 1,950 kms away over the Tasman sea. (1211.6) miles for you Americans. Loving all your stories, introduced the site to a work colleague and so it goes...

"Probably"... hahaha 😆 and perhaps more or perhaps less..

Story started 2nd August 2017 and now 28 April 2023. The effort here is staggering and I am in awe of the authors dedication to this story. 5 years and just shy of 9 months of gripping George Granger

What a bastard you are Mr. Arbour, THIS was the crying chapter....

My thoughts on the next chapter (s).. Caroline starts to push back with rumours of Travers and Calvert with George. Countess von Lieven appears pregnant with Georges child. King banished Caroline to estate as slanderous lier. Major Jardine returns to Yorkshire and meets Holmquist leading to a duel over Arthur. George stops it by arranging all three sent overseas, Arthur as governor, Jardine as Equerie and Holmquist as servant. All three happy and depart. Cousin Catherine Parr Lindsay arrived and marriage to Freck is arranged, she has deformed arm due to horse accident. They bond well and her innocence protects Freck and she becomes pregnant Mother leaves Duke of Norfolk to run Georges household and has no plans to leave allowing George to return to sea. Chartley and Batu arrive and like the Indian servants of the time a but like a private secretary but falls under the purview of the butler and stay at Portland house . Just thinking 🤔 😕 😌

Cheevers.... two of them in this series, book one as a stewart to Sir Evelyn Fellows, and again the butler at Portland Place, are they related or one and the same!? Just an eye for unusual circumstances.

This has to be the best series that I have read on this site. When you start and you are drawn into this historical setting, have a globe or Google map open along with Wikipedia! It will add so much more to the story. The author slowly teaches us about unusual facts of history and mores of the period. This Australian leant about "Jay Law" in Philadelphia USA, and the Winter Palace of St Petersburg in the time of the czars . Honestly, dreamt of the protagonists and wished that I could play with George myself. Truly an amazing author, I would pay for these books willingly and I would not normally be drawn to a setting of George the third, but think "Bridgeton" meets "the Onedin Line" (bbc drama),

My partner asked if I was upset, I said that I vexed, and truthfully I am. I love the Bridgemont series and recommend it wholeheartedly, but please!!!! I think poor George Granger deserves a faster delivery than we are getting, begging your pardon my Lord..

I am loving this series, but I wonder about the Order of Carlos the second, sometimes it is referred to as Carlos the Third...

Really love your stories, this one reminded me (tiny bit) of both Dan Brown and Patricia Cornell. Wonderful, thank you
