It is shocking how many people still have the false impression that there is a way to change a person's sexual orientation. As for these parents, I like to imagine that they were well-meaning but completely clueless.
I'm happy that Cyril finaly left but now I am wondering what will happen next. It must be awful knowing that there is someone out there who has threatened to kill you.
Thanks to everyone who commented. I think I may have watched a few too many depressing documenteries before writing this. It isn't common but ocasionaly some deranged person does get away with imprisoning and abusing innocent people.
Under the Surface
Justin sat on the couch in his parents' living room, idly playing with his phone. He could hear his parents getting ready for their date.
"Can you believe Karen's son got suspended for writing on a wall?" asked Justin's mother.
"I have never seen that kid do anything bad," answered his father. "It must be some kind of phase."
Justin smiled. He knew what had really happened. He had been late for class and already angry when he
Justin is a mischievous high school student living a comfortable life until he gets caught with another boy. He is sent away to a place run by an evil man, where every day is a struggle for survival sanity.
I have to admit that I was stretching the truth a little here but considering the video footage of chicken farms that I have seen over the years I am sure there are some pretty creapy things going on when no one is looking.
Now that you mention it I do remember that KFC story going around. I guess the legend of the headless chickens has been with us for a while.
Chickens
Mark and George sat by their kitchen table each looking a screen and sipping coffee. It was the perfect setting for a relaxing Saturday morning but they were unable to enjoy it. Their landlord had decided to sell the house that they had been living in for the last five years. They had less than three months to find a new residence. Mark put down his tablet and walked to the cabinet over the sink complaining as he went.
“I can’t find anything in our price range.”
I realy enjoyed this story. I wish I had gone to parties like that when I was a high school kid. The prank was great and all the characters were believable.
Interesting characters. This is the first time I have ever heard of brownies. This one reminded me of a leprechaun even though he was not green.
I had fun reading this but I'm not sure what the brownie and the crow wanted with the pumpkin. Were they trying to get the Devil to come over? It seems like he was not about to arive on his own.
Great story. I love your description of the library and the banging and creaking of the old house. It was also interesting to learn about Jim incrementally. At the begining he seamed almost flawless and then became more human as the story progressed.
