  1. ........... You're most likely correct, the Falklands would be a better choice designation, I thought Chile was closer and given the animosity between Argentina and Chile I thought they would get a faster and protective mode from Chile. But given that Bridget's people are all over South America. And as a bonus the English and American's are on very good terms, I'm sure even Fowler can hold sway with the the British Navy.
  2. .............Trevor is trying to see if anyone is on board the gunship, the sound of something hitting the side of the gunship would make anyone present on board come to investigate. It might be grit time for an engine or 2!

    Chapter 7

............. Let the fireworks begin, I wonder if their mothers will has a provision in it that if she passes on, all her money will go to the children also. Their grandfather seems to have been pretty shrewd. The plans for the ranch sound great, and I'm they will be a great success. I too am enjoying the story, I'm and anxious for the next chapter.
  4. .....After spudding the gunship, is Trevor planning to board her and perhaps disabling the engines? That is almost a bigger risk then rounding the cape. One thing is for sure they have to get out of there tonight and head for Chile. Bridget having contacts with the customs people in Argentina, they might send out more then one boat for Trevor after their gunship fails. It would be fitting that Trevor's action results in an International incident between Chile and Argentina! Then they will be in the papers again!! That will be great publicity for the book! I'll take a stab at next weeks title The Chase Great chapter CJ!
  5. ..............Of course I have!! The goat is always throwing us screwballs, this is why I think Wildone's prediction may have merit. Grundig could be a very low operative feeding info to the Australian underworld which had access by Blakenstoke and Gray, but not to Bridget as her links are only to those two. Well one and now none, Bridget's friends seem to keep disappearing from view! So now let's go to another scenario, one the goat has hinted at but but kept quite about. The tape if viewed by anyone would mark those seeing it to death by Bridget's cartel, but what if the other cartels that were victimized saw it? "The tape Arnold had created was a weapon, though one bearing two edges; the cartel was strong enough that some of it would largely survive a war with its rivals, though all sides in such a war would suffer. The cartel would, perforce, seek the death of anyone with knowledge of the tape’s contents" And what if Bridget having no real contacts with 'her' cartel in this area of the world and reached out to the other cartel to do a contract on Trevor and Shane. But the leader was a bit leery of the request and needed to know why, and Trevor shows them the tape after being boarded. The leader decides not to honor the contract and instead takes the tape and goes back to his people freeing Trevor and Shane and allowing them to continue their journey. A cartel war envelopes and Bridget is the cause making her seek safety into the sea, with only revenge on mind for Trevor......
  6. ............But.........but... Wildone said that when Trevor first came across the narrow openings that when Fowler and Grundig apprehended him that they were keeping an eye out for his boat as his passage was used by smugglers of animals and drugs. Likewise, Grundig was in perfect position to know if the Customs people spotted incoming boats. Remember Grundig was not surprised to find out that Fowler was Trevor's Uncle. Bad Wildone....Bad Wildone
  7. .........Actually I have to give kudos to where they lie, Wildone was the first one to suggest that Grundig was an informer, way back when I thought Julie was a traitor. So I kept a close tab on anything Grundig had to say, or was narrated of him. So if Grundig is indeed a villain all accolades should go to Steve! (Wildone) After-all the goat always says "Blame Wildone"
  8. ................Aha, but remember, once Gray disappeared Bridget had no contacts in Australia anymore, so maybe Grundig was Gray's informant. In fact Bridget had no contact there until Baskingstoke, who gave Bridget Grays number. With Gray being out of the picture now, Grundig could be safe if he was involved, but somebody in the police was involved in keeping the cartel up to date on the comings and goings of Trevor.
  9. .............. Why not Grundig? We all know that the goat throws us curves and somebody close to Trevor was giving out information!

    Chapter 22

Well, I for one didn't see that one coming!!Joel's mother coming to visit!
  11. ..............Echos of War, I can hardly wait, meanwhile the boys are stuck there until customs allows them to leave, I'm sure after Bridget and Trevor catch up with each other. The next phone call will be to Gonzales or Fowler to have the Customs people allow them to get the hell out of there. If Bridget even suspects she knows where they are, with her contacts, they'd be sitting ducks.
  12. ............... I'm 98% of the time a beer drinker, will have wine around the holidays but very little, I like Cab's and Merlot. Once in a while I will drink B&B in a snifter glass, and on special occasions drink scotch straight or on the rocks.. Other then that I like beer!
  13. ................ I did not realize you posted two chapters today when I replied before, I like Stephen's suggestion about Pasha and have a feeling that just might come to pass. Thanks for the chapters Nephy!
  14. ............... Well that was interesting, however did Pasha escape? Also in breaking the bond with Uzzy he managed to thwart Miche'l plans. Miche'l must be amazed and furious with himself that a mere mortal human defeated him. Great chapter Nephy
  15. ............Sends Menace half of my scratch pad!
  16. ......... Yep, I forgot that, before he only traded cell numbers with Julie, but it was that fateful mistake he made when he called her on the satellite phone; Trevor, hands shaking slightly with nerves, called Julie on the satellite phone, and explained that, due to a brief weather window opening, he and Shane were on their way to Panama via the direct route. He’d checked: his claim was reasonable, based on the forecast.
  17. .................. Indeed how did Bridget get Trevor's satellite phone number? Gonzales called Fowler’s office, spoke to Grundig, and received Fowler’s satellite phone number. Grundig was involved in 'helping' Trevor find the tracker, but in previous chapters he was given Trevor's satellite phone number; Fowler’s eyes opened a little wider. “Good thinking. Okay, follow that up. Write up a request to them and then kick it upstairs to the commander; he can get action pretty quick. They’ll need the phone number,” Fowler said, reaching for a pad and pencil to write Trevor’s number down. It was preceded by this ” Grundig’s eyes glazed over for a moment, and then he added, “Speaking of calls… remember the wild goose chase Bridget led the police on by stashing that satellite phone in a truck? The satellite phone company was able to track it to a general area, and we know the Melbourne mob, plus Bridget herself, are very well connected. What if they had someone, somewhere, maybe in law enforcement or pretending to be, make a request to the satellite company? They could be tracking Trevor’s satellite phone while it’s in standby.” Then in this chapter we have; “I have dozens of people checking into everything that we can think of. Tracking his satellite phone is, unfortunately, proving to be beyond our current capabilities; bribes have been offered, but the companies guard that sort of capability very well. I will keep trying.” Bridget met Xavier’s eyes, and to his surprise, began to smile. Of course Bridget couldn't resist the urge to 'reach out and touch someone' via a phone call, hope Trevor doesn't choke on his meal!! I wonder if he will hang up on her telling her is in the middle of dinner, that ought to frost her!! But I guess I really want to know what she was going to say to him? Or was it ploy to try and triangulate his position? Great chapter goat! Now no more 2-week breaks for you!!
  18. ................. Mine was to clear my desk of all the paid bills from last year, crap that is not a big job so I'll do it now! Mission accomplished!! LOL!
  19. ........ Merry Christmas and have a great new year....Opps soory. Happy birthday Krista!! Lol!
  20. ................ Hmm, believe it or not, I went to 4 in one night about 7 years ago with my neighbor Eric (he is kinda of like another adopted kid to me, and no we have no attractions, as I'm much older) It was liberating to see people being themselves, there was no crass involvement anywhere. It was just good plain fun, I did not participate, just watched and laughed at the antics going on. I left the club feeling great to see people just being people!
  21. ......................Mike will be working on it today after he receives it, it is possible, but I don't think it will post until Tuesday December 36th
  22. ............Crap! I hope he is okay!
  23. ..............Don't be to hasty, CJ has not responded back to me yet, which is unusual!
  24. ................. Funny how some minds think alike, I too thought that the wiley goat had to much Tequila last night, and that is why there is no posting yesterday. However, in fairness I would have to say the the no-show chapter constitutes a Cliffhanger.
