  1. Steve, he certainly has. dkstories wants the title for himself. This is going to be an epic battle for Evil Cliffhanging supremacy! This could be ugly, very ugly.
  2. Since he is gay, this is a much different situation than falling in love with a straight best friend. I think you should tell him how you really feel. I happen to think the chances of staying together is very high. You already get along better than a lot of couples. I'm reminded of some friends of man. It's a hetero relationship, but they started out as best friends. Now they're a couple, and I suspect they will be together for the rest of their lives. You should definitely tell him before it's too late.
  3. You're right about the changing trend. Still, there are a lot of youths that have some difficulties. I suspect that the heteros will always lose their virginity at an lower age on average. I could be wrong though.
  4. Thanks! I saw them and just had to have them. I have always had a fascination with big cats, especially tigers and particularly the white ones. Your avatar is nice. I have never actually seen Moulin Rouge, but I would like to see it at some point. I should order it on Netflix.
  5. Graeme, I'm definitely not surprised about that. First of all, there are still so many who are in denial. Others are just curious and want to try it just to see what it's like. I happen to think there is a higher percentage of virgins in the gay community than the hetero community. I don't know for sure though. I'm not sure if there has been any research on that particular subject.
  6. Recently I read about something. There is a disease called HOCD. It is someone with OCD who really does fear that he or she might be gay. Conversely the opposite can happen with someone who is gay who is worried that he or she might be straight. Also, the bisexuals can be afraid that they're on or the other. I'm not sure how common it is, but it certainly suggests true homophobia in the sense of a fear of being gay.
  7. Coulrophobia, fear of clowns, is actually quite common. I think a lot of it has to do with movies (books and comic books) like It and Spawn. Then again, John Wayne Gacy was a clown, and he was scarier than all of those other clowns combined.
  8. He does have some excellent evil cliffhangery. However, he is willing to concede that you are indeed the King Emperor of Evil Cliffhangers! That is splendid news. I'm sure we can expect many more evil cliffhangers in this one.
  9. Happy birthday, James! You totally rock. I love your sense of humor and how you say exactly what's on your mind. It's great to have you here, and I hope you have the best birthday ever.
  10. That's an unusual phobia, Jamie. Actually, there was an irrational fears thread in Q & A a while back. I had a similar deja vu and had to check it out.
  11. I think most of all we should thank the readers. If not for them, there would be no reason to have Anthologies. I would like to thank the authors who allowed me the privilege of being their beta reader as well. I love to help make fellow authors shine.
  12. Something like that...
  13. I think you look hot, Eric. It's giving me some ideas.
  14. I definitely consider myself gay. I don't know if I would ever want to have any kind of sexual relations with a woman. I really like men. I could possibly go there in a threesome, but that is questionable. I never have and probably never would. I used to be more open to it when I was "bi". However, I realized a while back that I'm gay and just hadn't completely accepted it. It took me 5 years.
  15. Yikes! You poor dear. I think it has gotten worse since I started taking Wellbutrin. I might have to see if the doctor can prescribe me with something that will help me sleep. The problem is that some of them are addictive.
  16. Are you saying that you have a fondness for them? In all seriousness, I have a few others. If there's a phobia of people who don't bathe, I have it.
  17. That's a great lesson. There are lessons to be learned in all languages. Languages are simply tools, but the meanings of words are the greatest significance.
  18. I definitely have to say ophiophobia, the fear of snakes. That is my greatest fear of all. It extends to slugs, snails, and worms too. Creatures that move without feet really make me sick. I would rather have my arm hacked off with a chainsaw than to touch any of them.
  19. My insomnia seems to be worsening. I went to bed after midnight and woke up at 6. I tried to go back to bed, but sleep would not come. This is starting to really annoy me. I can't take this much longer. I need to be able rest, but it never seems to happen. I have periods of time where this happens, but I wish it wouldn't. Well, I have written and posted two poems. I have been writing poetry every single day. The first one is called "Chains of Pain" and the second is called "Locked". I figured I might as well mention them here. They're both about wanting it all to stop. Don't worry. I'm not like I was about a month ago. I just feel so tired that it's making it difficult to feel happy. So much for taking an anti-depressant.
  20. Linkin Park "Shadow of the Day" I close both locks below the window. I close both blinds and turn away. Sometimes solutions aren't so simple. Sometimes goodbye's the only way. And the sun will set for you, The sun will set for you. And the shadow of the day, Will embrace the world in gray, And the sun will set for you. Pink cards and flowers on your window, Your friends all plead for you to stay. Sometimes beginnings aren't so simple. Sometimes goodbye's the only way. And the sun will set for you, The sun will set for you. And the shadow of the day, Will embrace the world in gray, And the sun will set for you. And the shadow of the day, Will embrace the world in gray, And the sun will set for you. And the shadow of the day, Will embrace the world in gray, And the sun will set for you. Linkin Park "Easier to Run" It
  21. Every day is normally two words. However, there is an exception. Everyday can be used as an adjective. I think "anymore" is always an adverb, but I do not think there is a case in which one might say "any more". The opposite can be said of "overwith". "Everything" is correct, and as far as I know, that is the only form. I did double check these items. Hopefully, I am correct.
  22. Welcome Lavie! I look forward to seeing you around the forums. Since you're a teen, I might as well suggest Teen Spot. There are plenty of interesting topics there and here in The Lounge. Then of course, there are story discussion forums.

    Benji

Benji emailed me this morning. He just wanted everyone to know they'll be away from the boards for a while. He says he's really going to miss CJ's evil cliffhangers. I hope he's able to return soon.
