Iran nukes Israel, Israel nukes Iran, Pakistan nukes Israel, and India nukes Pakistan and Iran. What's wrong with a limited nuclear war in the middle-east and near east? If big nations don't touch the affected countries, then it gets limited. If they do, we are all going to be screwed.

Most likely survive through some kind of coincidence. Subways used to be old bomb shelters, so pray you are a good commuter. (It's actually a good idea to hide in the transit tunnels and use them to get out of major cities) Additionally, Australian population in the desert might be able to survive along with the Arctic researchers and Space station guys. Now should we survive, what doesn't kill us, will most likely kill us in the decades of nuclear winter. Afterward, the last remnants of mankind can try to figure out what's next.

The choice is your own. I can make a million points that sound pretty and articulate the facts of life to you, but I suspect you already heard it. What can I say to change your mind about the world? Nothing if you are resolute about it. Yet, I believe you still care about the world and about your life, if you did not then you would not have came on here voicing this issue. We are all here for you. Yes, we can't be there for you like give you a shoulder to cry on, an ear to speak your mind, or a hug to give you the comfort that you need and should be given. Yet, what your friends here on GA can do is give you hope. It's the last thing in the world between life and death; it is what people throughout the ages have lived on. I hope that you keep the hope alive; the decision is your own to make.

Some one has read too many issues of Crisis on Infinite Earth, Myr, you looking guilty! DC comics did the same thing to divide the three ages of Comic books; Golden age back-stories, Silver Age, DCAU age, and now. Batman's origin story changed a few times over the years as one example from people that know their character backgrounds.

Enjoyable film, impressive cinematic and Leonard Nimoy was perfect with blend of surrealism and honesty. The alternate universe thing was fun and interesting. Uhura was one of the few women not attracted to Kirk on TOS, now we know why. (She's into emo's.....I mean Vulcans, hehe!) Hot characters, Christopher Pine, hot ass and package. Sulu looked adorable. Then Finally, Checkov, I love you!!!!! 9/10, until they add the gay character promised by Gene Roddenberry decades ago, I cannot in good conscience give it a perfect score.

Writing a western gay themed story is very difficult. It is sometimes too black and white, which I don't like writing either. One sided characters are not fun, so I need to update the western Genre with human dimensions. A plot direction would not hurt.

You are the hero of this story.

Ah, but how about writing "generic fiction" with twists? Or writing original fan fiction, where it eventually turns into original fiction? (CSU is one of those, originally Star Trek fan fiction that has since morphed into a new original fiction and its own community on Jeff's Fort) I am spread across the four disciplines, because I like writing each. Character and Plotter are my core tenets in writing. World builder is my imaginative side usually done in long form stories. Then style, I am a very big fan of puns, allegories, and innuendos. I also take great pleasure in mimicking or emulating classic writer's techniques. I think with this good response, people should post concepts and see what can be done? Let me start with a concept for a short story that I am thinking of doing: Gay themed story with an American Western concept, but classic western and not "Brokeback Mountain" type western. I've been trying to create a manageable plot for this concept as a short story. I want it to have similar elements to Shane, another classic western story, but aesthetically more visceral and realistic. Doing an old western with a gay protagonist is not easy, anyone think up plot directions?

As the topic title suggests, sometimes concepts get realize, but there are issues with execution. I know it takes me time to come up with a way to realize a concept in a non-episodic story. I thought about the issue, then realized other writers or people with concepts for stories may have similar issues. So, why not create place to develop plots after conceptualizing stories? I believe everyone can write, but what they lack is sometimes just choices in direction. Let's say, you have a concept for a gay fantasy story involving humans and fantasy creatures like Dragons, Orcs, elves, and ect... It's a cool concept, but you're afraid everyone has gone there and done it. Well, we can pose some questions to this particular person: How do you see your characters? Do you want evil beings/creatures to be one sided evil and good beings/creatures one sided as well? What type of world is it? It crafts a direction for the story, while keeping the author's concept alive and possible for reading to everyone.

Happy Birthday!!!!

Why can't pain be an expression of love?

Yum! (That's all I got to say)

SG1 had a great run 10 seasons is difficult to manage, so congrats. If RDA did not leave, then it could have gone for season 20, but MacGuyver needed to stop some terrorists, while building a spaceship out of paper clips and a Alkaline batteries. Stargate Atlantis was axed too soon and it was getting interesting again with the introduction of the Lost Tribe of Asgard, the little grey guys are cute in a sort of "I like probing ass" type of way. Firefly should have gone to Universal and not Fox, which is too much about reality TV. The only show I watch on Fox is House, which they are slowly destroying with too much melo-drama and not enough medical mystery. I don't like Grey Anatomy type drama, it's like the worst soap ever, why are you destroying my favorite drug popping, nihilistic, and socially awkward doctor? (By the way for shippers, the bets are 2-1 for Cuddy to stay with House, 5-1 for Wilson to realize he's actually gay/bi and go with House, and 10-1 for Cameron to dump Chase and hook up with House)

EAS Agamemnon (Babylon 5) Tons of ships in Babylon 5 and Star Trek along with other Sci-Fi.

Aww, cool blue, I love comics! As for the Belly, I gained 6 pounds this week of finals; it stinks, but I knew it was coming. 3 weeks of dieting and losing 20 pounds versus 5 days of sit in studying and take-out. Go for jogs and cut down on the food intake slightly and progressively.

Mark's our Hero with a knight's armor, just make sure you get a hold of him before Benji's dragon.
-
Blasphemy!!!!! Time to send some one to the ice planet of death! Some Trekkies are a little extreme, one reason why I left the Church of Trek.
-
Can I still propose to you?
-
Leave it to the hero to seek the grammatical justice! I am imagining you as a Quixotic hero don in romantic chivalric armor fighting the "literal" injustice of the land: Go Mark! Honestly, I do love the notion of heroics.
-
True, the only difference between me and D.E. is that she believes in absolute justice more than I do. If I believed, then I'd be a sage, too, instead of a fun explorer. Sorry, Mark, you got the hero title. An un-thrilling and selfless life must be a drag, but you get recognition for ages to come. These test do not mean everything about you, nor should you base your life on it.
-
You are the Explorer! Something is missing. Your giving and spiritual nature has not yet found its reason for being. The higher power and cosmic justice which give your nature meaning are out there, but you can't find them among the many pretenders. Organized religion seems so close, but somehow missing the point- perhaps because you have not found one that convinces you that order and justice can exist in this world. You are The Missionary without the message. You are mostly selfless. You do not believe in an ordered universe or necessarily in an ordered society. The Soul is more important to you than the physical world. You do not believe there is justice. You SHOULD: Travel and experience other cultures in the same way that the locals do. This will not necessarily require a significant budget- which you are unlikely to have if you are staying true to yourself; you can do it by volunteering with philanthropic organizations. You should NOT: Be too quick to settle down. You probably wont find a soul mate until you find your own soul, so have a few meaningful but fun relationships without making too many long-term promises. Become tied down financially or professionally. Your life will be: Fascinating. Your life may be: Inspirational. Your life will not be: Stable. Your opposite is: The Conqueror. Your companion is: The Counselor. You scored 31% Egocentricism, 44% Heirarchy, 60% Spirituality, and 32% Morality!

There's also another issue to with regeneration. The time lords still must die after a certain amount of regeneration, so how many more times can you kill him before you get the "You killed Kenny effect"? According to wiki 13 regeneration is max. We're on the 11th Doctor, not good odds. You could break the rules, but it is still a little off.

As a writer, for me, it depends on what I write. Some stuff is episodic like Love and Again with certain small arcs for fun, but other stories are grander and pretty extreme. Exodus will have a chapter 2 in about a month; it took me about three months to write it looking back and forth at notes and technology concepts. Episodic is easier to write and shorter in concept. Grand stories like B5 are extremely difficult and it took JMS years to do it. I realize his difficulty, now.

No one really knows now if it was emulation or if it was just Ron Moore doing his show running with little story concepts from Ira behr. We know now that Ron could do large Arcs like he did in Battlestar Galactica, so it could have been a bit of both.
