Glad you enjoyed it and I love working with near future tech, 3D printing programming is still cutting edge even now as computer scientists and engineers have not broken it into a formidable process to turn it into Star Trek's Replicator technology. As for human element, I don't believe in easy answers to complex issues, being gay doesn't make us superior even in fiction, it just adds an element to who we are for others to love and hate.

I am taking my love life nice and slow. I have a lot of insecurities, a lot of unknowns, and a lot of pent up sexual frustrations. That's my life right now. My 1st question is, do I love him? I don't know, he's charming as hell though 2nd, Can I settle don with him? Maybe, but I want to learn more about him I am entering that phase in a gay man's life where he is looking for stability, not the ocassional fuck or suck or tongue explorations. In the past, I dated guys in their 20's like me, now I am taking the plunge and dating a guy who's 38 and 9 years my senior. I've been finding it more appealing to be with older guys as I am getting older, the maturity level is more there. He's also not so old that I can't relate, I was playing SNES and Sega at age 7, so I know all about Duck hunt and vectorman, I watched MTV, and I remember Ducktales I have an innate fear that I have had since I was young. I worried for the longest time of dying alone at extreme old age having survived my partner, our kids, and everyone I cared for. It was a recurring nightmare for me to be in an empty mansion looking at pictures of lost friends and a lost love with a feeling that I have achieved everything I wanted to do, but had nothing left and no dreams left.

Yeah, I know what HIV+ is and how it is not full blown AIDS (Being gay makes it imperative and pertinent to know your history), but I am looking at a prospective pet/friend of the feline variety. He's FIV+, which is something new to me. I did not know Cats can get infected with retro-viruses similar to humans. Worse, I didn't know there was a stigma that a cat could get for being FIV+ as to be left out on the street, where the animal rescue people found him. I want to know more about this: How does it happen? Is it preventable? I was a dog owner for a long time, but now am feeling lonely after his death several years ago and could use the friendly purrs of a cat on my lap.

Life, Death, and rituals, there's a lot of things Chinese people do that is strange and alien to many people. In some ways, it is anachronistic and in other ways, it is a sign of cultural longevity. For 5,000 years, funerals have happened in similar manners for millions of households, if not billions. There's kneeling, ceremonial bowing, a bit of supplicated crawling to the casket, constant chanting and wailing, and lots of origami paper folding plus burning of the folded paper and ghost money (Origami is a Japanese term, the Chinese had a simpler more ritualistic reason for folding paper, usually for funerals). Culturally, people gossip during a funeral about other family members, it's the usual affairs with other men/women, adulterous liaisons with bastard kids, insinuations of corruption, un-filial behavior, and pledges of murder against some ancient wrong within the family. Basically, from what I have heard, it's almost like a Jewish family in a way. Pedigrees are exchanged, people are sized up by education and fashion, and there is an ominous stir of incense that clouds your nasal passages, which evoke runny noses and tears. That's my grandfather's funeral.

Actually, I have a classical education (Greek and Latin in High School), so whether it's one of the Oresteian Trilogy's stories (All life is a play to the Greeks ) or De bello Gallico, I've probably read it. As for Euripedes, I am most familiar with Medea (Something about a women killing her husband's new paramour and her kids, sounds like a News Headline nowadays). Even if you are gay, you can imagine a scenario where you are betrayed by your boyfriend for another guy, then you seek revenge on him. It's human nature. Classic stories explore the human element, our triumphs and our flaws that remain despite advances in knowledge, technology, and social dynamics. Things like jealousy, greed, and war are as eternal as love, charity, and peace, neither can exist without the other to define the relative human perspective.

We never talk about classic literature, despite being "Gay Authors" and readers of all types, sizes, creeds, and sexual interests. There are classic stories that have stood the test of time, stories with ideas that transcends any localized temporal issues or social stigmas/ideals, and stories that seem to reverberate as clear 200 years ago as they do today. For some reason, I was thinking about Les Mis' today as I thought about my trip to New York for my grandfather's funeral (I've seen the movie musical and read the original book a few times). Basically, in order to save money staying in NYC for a few days and help pay for my grandfather's funeral expenses, I rented an apartment in an lower income area of New York City. There were crazy people, homeless people, and a bunch of others I'm used to as I am a Bostonian and have worked in the ghettos as an accountant for a health network of community health centers serving the poor inner city in a past job for 3 years. However, actually living there (Thank you Bookings.com for getting me bottom barrel prices ) and shopping at the local marts, it just reminded me of the story. Urban poverty is real and there is a tragic reality to it that was true in the 19th century as it is in the 21st century. Instead of stealing bread to feed his family, the modern day Jean Valjean is dealing in goods as an illegal hawker without a permit and when the cops arrest him and put him in jail for selling counterfeit goods with copyrights and fines he can never understand or pay, is jail time any more justifiable than stealing a loaf of Bread for a starving family. It just made me think of the story and I just began drawing more and more parallels between Victor Hugo's classic and Modern America. I don't want this to be a purely political/Pit type discussion on economics and politics, but something approaching literary relevance from this classic story to modern society. I think Les Miserables really touches on a lot of good topics that are important and relevant to how a lot of people live.

Let there be light, to this topic again.... 11 seasons going on to 12, Supernatural is now the longest running series of fantasy/horror in the US, even outgunning the X-files and Fringe. LGBT writers have written some really fun and sometimes disturbing fan fictions of the Winchester boys and their friends, but I think the show is definitely part of our culture now, especially with fans. Last week, Supernatural fans finally got the big reveal, we now know for certain without a doubt or supposition or any other issue that God is....bisexual (If he were gay, it would turn the world upside down, but bi makes a lot of sense for a being that loves all. I'd prefer to think pan-sexual is a better term, but that raises some bizarre things that we as human beings cannot accept.) Also he's.... The episode "Don't call me Shurley" was really good, but it probably is even better for GA writers and fans, because it touches on some interesting points from our writing and our creations points of view. God is a bitter narcissistic bisexual writer, who has a lot of regents over his creations and unhappiness over what has happened. He's basically like a lot GA writers that have come and gone over the years here; filled with creative energy, angst, bitterness, and a lot of wishful regrets that they couldn't do more or thing did not turn out the way they wanted. It's meta in the best way possible.
