Alright, I'm resurrecting the dead thread. Yes, it's so freakin corny, but my God, this season especially brings a lot of nostalgia. Is it weird for a 28 year old guy to be watching a show made for 12 year olds? Yeah, but I watched the show's predecessor when I was 12 and personally, I wished they had produced this on ABC again instead of their home Disney Network for kids. Certain episodes of Season 2 were geared towards guys like me, not the 12 year olds, like Mr. Squirrel goes to Washington (Eric becomes a Senator, now that's scary politics) or the episode "New Teacher" with an edgy new teacher and an amazing story line that hark back to Mr. Turner from Boy Meets World, who also makes a guest appearance (Damn!). Ms. Harper's lesson is on Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns, personally I think a comic book is actually a good lesson plan especially Frank Miller, who I love as well. I think this show tragically will get cancelled, but I am praying that it will find itself back on the air properly as a regular cable show.

Oh, I am not that great, I just like to experiment with writing. When I write sex, it's like trying out a new lycra outfit, you just have to enjoy the feeling that it creates.

Well, the first 2 chapters are pretty tame, they are harmless in terms of sexual content, but Chapter 3 will start a new trend for me. I know I am not one of the most well known writers for mature content, nor is this story meant to be completely mature, but I think by the end of the 1st half with Chapter 12, you will see that I have changed as a writer. Sex for my characters follows patterns of need, patterns of release. There is revelation to be found in sex, ideas are expressed about Homosexuality and what we represent to each other and to humanity as a whole. There's also smaller revelations about our relationships, our feelings that the lack of sex also creates. I want readers to view sex for more than just the erotic value, which there will be. Sex binds characters to fate as well in my story, winch is kind of weird to think of as a theme, but you will understand it in context by Chapter 9. This is a story about gay teens between the ages of 15-17 to start, but it will age like fine wine as I continue the story on a trajectory that might lead some to ask, why am I going against the normalcy of LGBT storytelling? The answer, which I will say now is that we have stopped really exploring the potential of sex in storytelling elements out of a need to conform to normalcy, i.e. if boy a meets boy b, then they form couple ab. I won't make it that easy as our relationships rarely are that easy. For the queerlings that might read my story, (I know some of you will violate the mature rating I will place on the story(, I want you guys to understand that relationships are not easy or simple as some writers portray or as I used to portray in my earlier stories. For my final thoughts on this reveal, Be proud to love who you love for as long as you love them.

Bisexuals females, plenty in Star Trek, but openly Gay couples, none. There was no official Canon mention of a gay couple in any Star Trek series. Man on Man sex is sadly lacking as well George Takei, while openly gay, was portrayed as a heterosexual (Confirmed with the Movie Star Trek Generations with his daughter) I think I prefer shows like Babylon 5 more, where sexuality is less a topic of the week and just a seamless integration (though, they should have kept Delenn as a male as JMS had planned, it would have made Sheridan's love story so much more rewarding for me). Still, we got Susan Ivanova, a badass lesbian with real character and development that Star Trek never ventured to go, except for one off episodes or the mirror universe (eek!) That's why I bought Babylon 5 complete series versus any of the Star Trek; though I liked DS9 most out of all of them, they never could go beyond a certain mold.

Since we have a Soapbox now for controversial political issues, I will only use my Blog for literary stuff and reviews, along with announcement for Cyber-Bullying Defense Team related story material, once I publish on October 23rd 2015. So let's start with a topic that writers and readers have debated internally and vocally (at least in the past): What are the rules for sex? How old should your characters be if they form relationships or have sex in stories? What is the line between a story of love and passion versus a porn movie script? Everyone has rules, I am not looking to change your views, but I will state my laws of characters relations now: 1. Thou shall not make gratuitous sex for no reason, meaning the characters must logically go into a sexual encounter as they would in normal context of their plot. If you want to make them sexually active, make sure to add it in early in the story or gradually as a progression 2. Thou shall make loving relationships if the characters call for it, meaning don't force ship characters who are not ready to fall in love. Most of us are single and not in loving relationships, so let's not lie to the readers. 3. Thou shall not write explicit rape scenes unless you are willing to create characters with massive emotional issues afterwards, seriously don't do this thinking your characters will bounce back fast. 4. Thou shall allow characters to be open to other advances without making them into sluts, guys you don't need to make gay teens into sluts to give them a story, being open does not mean you are dropping your boxers for every cock that comes your way. If they need sexual release there are other ways. 5. Thou shall allow a character to fall in love with whoever they want as long as that character understands the reality of his/her choice, pretty much a given, but if you have an older character involved with a younger character make sure they know it can be complicated and culturally unacceptable in other areas (i.e. Europe has an age of consent of 16, the US is 18 for most states, and other countries might still have sodomy laws.) 6. Thou shall use reality as it calls for, i.e. if you as the writer was abused by a Catholic Priest, no one should stop you from venting or speaking out. Don't hold back about real life experiences 7. Thou should never harm a child unless you are willing to deal with the pandora's box, for people who write stories set in Ancient times especially, pederastic relationships existed and it was most likely rape in certain contexts with extreme violence (Sparta most definitely). Those are my rules: I am pretty open minded to a lot of things, but I will not cross certain lines

Do I detect a potential Wincest story on GA?

I know, we're still a month away from my official launch date, but I wanted to talk about why I wrote this story and some things that I just fel strongly about. In 2012, I had this idea to create a story involving teams of hackers competing against each other in a secret war of information. I didn't think I was computer savvy enough to write it, so I left it off on my shelf for 3 years. I recently read an article about Cyber bullying and its affect on Gay teens, which got me into plotting again and revising my original idea. Cyber-bullying is a horrible issue that society is just learning about, but the way we're dealing with it is basically like a traditional bully/victim relationship. However, there's a critical flaw in this assumption; everyone assumes only kids are bullying other kids and there are no directed attacks. Anyone who has been online at least for a few years knows that this is false; adults have reasons to attack people online in merciless cyber assaults and kids are easy targets of opportunity or potential gain, if let's say you want to make sure the future of LGBT causes have weaker presences. In addition, we have a culture of people who attack with ugly reasoning without conscience or ethics. Some do it out of profit, others misguided faith. Combine all of that and you have a story that extends from the world of classrooms to boardrooms to megachurches to terrorist camps in Syria and beyond. When borders of physical limits collapse, how far will human beings go to act upon their darkest impulses and ugliest desires? How far will the virtuous among us keep fighting such an enemy, who will never rest and never needs to? That's the world that I envision in Cyber-Bullying Defense Team (CBDT)

Damn it! I was getting cleaned up and writing again, now I just got my first taste of Crack, Political Crack I need to remember unlike years before I have a young story to think about; he's not even 1 chapter old yet; I can't just abandon him for a quick political score during the primaries. Still, it is so much fun to debate, fight over views about everything from the role of government to the role of a parking ban against non-residents. Political debate is addictive; it's like sex without conscience or responsibility. Any point is up for grabs, it is just how far you're willing to push. I have to pull away though; I got addicted once and it made me a horrible person to be around.

In the year 2035, I can see myself digging through an old box of my stuff with a partner and a kid. We find my old TV series. My future Partner: WL, what the heck were you watching? At this rate, they'll become as old fashioned and comedy ready as Beta Trax and VHS. TV series are now available on Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix; plus all the major networks and cale companies offer apps for tablet/smartphone viewing. I just have a few TV series that I bought with money (I am not admitting anything illegal with that comment ) on blue ray and DVD, but I feel old: The 4400 (Before there was Heroes, there was The 4400) Babylon 5 (Best Sci-Fi Series) Battlestar Galactica (New Series, less "Mormon in Space" more "We're all Fracked!") Full Metal Alchemist (Best Anime Ever!) Junjou Romantica (Series 1 and 2, Say Yay! For gay anime!) House MD (For the man that likes subtle bromance) One Tree Hill (I'm that kind of guy, The OC could go to hell) Simpsons (Season 1-14, basically before they started sucking) The Civil War, narrated by Ken Burns (I'm classy too) West Wing Presidential Edition (What? Episode 2: Blog review

Cynus' Ashes of Fate Episode 2 Plot Summary: We find our protagonist Tristan trapped in the Wer camp from last episode, until a mysterious boy named Jacob rescues him. He meets up with a ragtag band people, which include humans and Were-creatures alike. They board an aircraft and head to some unidentified hospital facility, where Tristan sees some hidden memories Review: Good stuff and bad stuff abound in Episode 2, The Good is that we get to see that the Wer are not the only one with tech or weapons. We also meet some interesting members of the Icarus Confederacy, a supposedly long defeated foe of the Wer Alliance. This story element balances out some of the questions I had in Episode 1. The Bad is that we are treated to a lot of characters, backstories, and histories that readers have to absorb in the 2nd chapter. Some of it works well, I like Jacob (who can either become a love interest or a friend to Tristan) and Peter (the Transsexual Weretiger, very clever use of LGBT allegory). Other things like Kurt and Faust's past histories bogs down your story line a bit. Also, introducing Ethan and the potential implication of Psi abilities into your universe was a bit rushed. Psi powers are more complicated if you start thinking about them, it's why science fiction writers sometimes consider the area as hybrid genre of Horror/Sci-fi. Don't feel bad Cynus, it was a good chapter, just too compacted with information. You've established a rudimentary setting and basic protagonist vs. antagonistic forces within your universe. Be proud of what you did, not what you overdid. I give this: :lugh: 1/2 out of 5

Alright, this is my first GA story review in a while, I have my own set of review structure that is slightly different than Renee's outline for GA, but not incompatible. Let's start with Cynus' Ashes of Fate Ashes of Fate Episode 1, Season 1 Plot Summary: We meet Tristan the protagonist of this story with a mild amnesiac episode at the beginning of the chapter, where he does not recognize who he is and where he is. The chapter unfolds with Tristan recalling his life and references his two brothers, Zach and Corban, who care for him. There's certain revelations that are made at the end of the story that shocks and surprises Tristan. Was everything in his life a lie? Review: Well, Cynus, I am quite pleased that some one else has taken up the mantle of doing a serial drama as I am preparing to do I also like the idea that you are writing about a post apocalyptic world with fantasy elements and an interesting build up of characters. As this is the 1st episode, there's a lot of world building that needs to be done. You'll need to make sure that as much as you build your world, it is logically tied into the way the world develops around the plot. One area that is making me a little curious is that if the Wer alliance had firearms, does that mean they have industrial capabilities? Why would they settle for peace with humanity if they could wipe us out with weapons technology that we could no longer have ourselves? I am assuming that the use of hatchets and bows/arrows are common weapons of the human rebels, which by in large are quite inferior in shots per econd potential to most standard rifles and semi-automatic weapons. There are ways to make this work out though, you could claim that the Wer alliance are merely scavenging our old weapons with access to military arsenals in the US and abroad. This would limit their ability to use weapons and maintain a semi-balance of power and not make them far too powerful. Also, you could use the old "fifth" column trick that writers of the genre have done before, basically have sympathizers among the Wer Alliance soldiers and civilian population, who want to grant peace versus the more aggressive elements of their society. Overall, it's a good start to a new story and I noticed that you have published episode 2 yesterday too, I am not sure how many episodes you are going to run, but it might be more advantageous to space out publication for readers over a long period of time to give them the opportunity to read all of your "episodes" for the 1st season. I am doing that too as part of my regular schedule that I posted earlier. My rating for the 1st Episode: :lugh: :lugh: out of 5

I envision this story to act almost like a TV series, when I launch it, I will publish Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 as my series "pilot" episodes. Each week, I will publish a new chapter at a exact time slot, Friday at 9PM EST, so readers will have time to read it. Here's the Publication Schedule as it stands for CBDT (Cyber Bullying Defense Team): Publishing Date Chapter # October 23rd 2015- 1+2 (Pilot) October 30th 2015- 3 November 6th 2015- 4 November 13th 2015- 5 November 20th 2015- 6 November 27th 2015- 7 December 4th 2015- 8 December 11th 2015- 9 December 18th 2015- 10 December 25th 2015- 11 January 1st 2016- 12 This will end the 1st half of book 1 of CBDT Publishing will stop between January 8th-January 29th, it will allow readers to give me feedback, make edits to new chapters I have in production, and allow me to read and answer reviws if there are any at that point The second half of book one will be released on February 5th 2016. Yes, I am pulling a Walking Dead on you guys, but I hope this will give readers time to think about the story and new readers time to enjoy it, so I don't overwork myself on writing and you guys won't get bored on reading.
