If you are a fan of Caballé, you have to see how she brings the house down with a whisper. The scena that brings Act 1 of Cherubini's Démophoon to a conclusion starts at min. 21:14. Here's the same number in recital format:

The Fifth Doctor worked with one of the few now-Openly LGBTQ actors in the Whoniverse (Matthew Waterhouse), which notably also includes John Barrowman. Tom Baker was unimpressed by Waterhouse’s acting ability. Adric seems not to have been a particularly popular Companion with (hetero) fans, dressed as he was in ‘pajamas’ and his role was cut relatively quickly. Russell T Davies significantly upped the LGBTQ content in the Whoniverse with the very sexy bisexual Cap’n Jack Harkness as well as the bisexual behavior of all of the other Torchwood characters, and Charlie Smith & Matteusz Andrzejewski as the Gay couple in the short-lived Class (although Davies wasn’t involved in this spin-off). There were also little quips and hints of other LGBTQ-related jokes, such as Britney Spears’ music being on the giant ‘iPod’ (jukebox) on the ship when the Earth’s Sun explodes. ;–)

Geoff could suggest to his mother that Stuart and Jason want to buy her house! ;–)

Dr Who’s (redheaded) Turlough was kind of cute, but his character was a jerk (and the actor is married to a woman). I especially liked it when they had him wearing short pants! Peter Davison was my favorite Classic Doctor. ;–) Does Evan have an available Gay (great)uncle? ;–)

Scottie is a much nicer person than Scott was! New haircut, new name, new relatives, new location. A much better fresh start than with his hateful uncle. ;–) If you have to be the new kid, it’s much better if you look like the younger brother of your popular, athletic, sexy cousin! He could have looked like Melanie – more of us do. And Alex will introduce him to people so he won’t feel as out of place as most new kids… ;–)

I had to use DuckDuckGo to find out what ‘cloud eggs’ were. It wasn’t listed in Dictionary.app (New Oxford American Dictionary and Oxford Dictionary of English). Wikipedia doesn’t even have a page on it! ;–)

I vote for Dustin’s sperm donor, the creepy Dr Thompson or Luke – even better, all of the above! ;–) -

If he does, this will be a very short story! The title is Dustin’s World. But I suppose, @jkwsquirrel could do the trendy thing and continue the story, post-mortem, with his friends describing their interactions and reactions to his life and demise. ;–) -
Ghilherme Lobo does an amazing job portraying the visually impaired Leonardo! This was one of many great films I’ve seen at Frameline. (Support your local LGBT film festival!) ;–)

California mandates certain vaccines before a child can register to attend school. There are, of course, exemptions for those who have a valid medical reason to skip them. This caused a huge uproar from the bury-their-heads-in-the-sand people, but I believe it has been upheld in court. If the entire medical system were non-profit, we wouldn’t be dealing with most of these problems. The profit motivation benefits certain types of problems, but is counterproductive in the case of our health. Healthcare should be just like other first responder fields. No one wants the police or fire agencies to be focused on profit over safety!

There was a sequel novel that was published. Although I did read it, I cannot remember what the plot was – I don’t think an evil alien kidnapping was involved though. George Lucas did put several E.T.s into the Senate scene in one of the Star Wars prequel trilogy movies. Star Trek's Enterprise was one of the ships shown above Coruscant too. ;–) @Page Scrawler, apparently Shelly Long was the first choice to play Elliot’s mother. Shelly has made a career out of playing annoying characters, first as Diane on Cheers, and more recently as DeDe on Modern Family. Dee Wallace was a much warmer mom than Shelly could ever be. Plus Dee managed to fight off a rabid dog in Cujo! ;–)

Rather than musicals inspired by Spielberg, I think John Hughes would provide better source material! Sixteen Candles or Ferris Bueller’s Day Off would seem to have potential. Of course securing music rights would probably be too expensive… ;–)

It does seem like Scott has learned his lesson. He’s lucky that Alex is educated and open-minded enough not to be concerned about his orientation. There are too many who blindly follow their ignorant religious leaders and the bigotries they espouse.

Does Alex have a Gay uncle available? Hey! Stop telling me his grandfather would be more appropriate! ;–)

It’s about time that they talked about their high school experiences! ;–)

Who is January? January Jones♀? January Suchodolski♂? January Thompson♀? ;–)

The Lost Souls in the Fishbowl

Even if they never have sex together again, Dustin and Nate need to be friends. They communicate on a level that Dustin has never experienced before. He and Nate share similar experiences that set them far apart from others they know. Plus Luke is just bad for Nate! I think I would have freaked out if someone had reacted the way Dustin did with Scott (not that I’d ever be in that sort of situation). I was surprised that Scott was so calm about everything. Dustin’s psychotic reaction is an indication he needs serious therapy to heal the very deep wounds his father inflicted on him. -
May just get the would-be Emperors and Empresses to stop trying to enforce their rules and regulations on LGBTQ knowledge and behavior on the rest of us! ;–) The PR people should be working on better prizes than just Gay Cards™ and toasters… ;–) But there will still be a bunch of MSMs who will continue to identify as ‘straight’ regardless of who they fantasize about or have sex with.

When I get Notifications about older chapters, I go back to see why I got them. This time, it was because @wenmale64 reacted to my Comment! So I reacted to Comments by @BooRadley, @D.K. Daniels, and you! I was reminded of the Armani suit reference – personally, I wouldn’t be able to identify through binoculars an Armani from a Versace, a Cinque, or even an off-the-rack JC Penny suit! ;–) Just add that to the list of shameful reasons why my Gay Card™ should be taken away. The list already has my lack of knowledge of classic movies, musicals, and the latest celebrity gossip. My LGBTQ Literature List is reasonably well checked off, but mostly in the ‘70s and ‘80s – ‘80s biographies in particular. Those two decades are over-represented on the LGBTQ Music List too. I’m handicapped on my LGBTQ TV List because I cannot afford cable TV. My LGBTQ Movies List is what allows me to keep my Gay Card™ though! ;–)

Repeated line in Paninaro from Pet Shop Boys:

To me, it’d be something like skipping every tenth or twentieth paragraph! You’d get the sense of the story, but would miss out on so much! But then again, I read appendixes and postscripts. ;–)

I also think we are egotistical to believe that we are the necessarily the intelligent species that aliens might be seeking to contact. In Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, the alien intelligence is seeking humpback whales. In So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish, the dolphins leave humans behind when they escape Earth’s demolition. You mean like the appalling and disturbing (his personality) Sixth Doctor?
-
We forget that we’ve already encountered other beings who are compassionate. Dolphins are known to save struggling swimmers. Dogs have been known to alert humans of people who have been involved in accidents (injured man sliding down a hill out of sight, hiker hurt up the trail out of view, etc). ;–) But I’d like to think that Farla’s people were able to fix Mom too. I’d expect that they’d have much more advanced medical technologies and treatments, possible having cures for cancer and the common cold. Maybe even cures for severe mental illnesses (including homophobia and organized religion). ;–)

Much like The Lord of the Flies, the ‘adults’ come to save the children! ;–) I was not expecting the crystalline forms to be a kind of stasis! I cannot imagine waking up to an instant two years of dust in my apartment. Oh, wait a minute, yes I can. I have dusted a few things in my apartment, but dust has a much lower priority than just about anything else in my life! ;–) Aren’t advanced life forms supposed to dress in form-fitting spandex (lycra or elastane) cat-suits with stiletto boots? Or at least form-fitting polyester uniforms? Are you suggesting that Star Trek has misled me? ;–)
