  1. I get the feeling North Koreans are on an even tighter leash than you portray. Stricter control than the European Communists had on their athletes back in the day. Just look at how North Korea reacted to their two border guards who defected recently! But I would welcome life imitating art during (or soon after) the Games! ;-)
  2. Maybe you should change your Avatar to Denny the TV Reporter! ;-)
  3. Where’s the other half? ;-) Which one of the three did you complete? ;-) We haven’t gotten to Prom, the weddings, or even surgical recovery yet! ;-) I figure I’ll still be waiting for each of those events to happen in 2025 or so… ;-)
  4. Yes, Oakland is beautiful, but the only hospitals are either Sutter (Alta Bates Summit Medical Center on Pill Hill), Kaiser Permanente, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, or Alameda Health System (Highland Hospital)! Oakland panorama (link to original image). Not just San Francisco’s ugly step-sister. Oakland is the Lesbian Capital of the US.

(#22) Maybe he can wave to them from a balcony or roof before he leaves the hospital! ;-) He could leave in true Rock Star fashion and use a helicopter instead of an SUV or limo! ;-)

Between HIPPA violations and general medical ineptitude, you’d think the hospital would already have been looking for ways to dump Nate before he becomes a financial and legal liability! This is #16, only 31 more to go! ;-)

The gift shop could set up a table outside the hospital near the area the crowd has gathered. And there are always online sales! There have to be creative was to raise funds! Maybe Oli and a few of his classmates can staff the table. ;-) Eventually maybe they can convince Ryder to help fund a Ryder Sullivan wing or something… ;-)

Considering the huge crowd outside the hospital, I’m shocked that the administration hasn’t had Teddy (and the Psychiatrist) do another press event. ;-) Maybe they can raise funds for the hospital by selling licensed “Ryder Sullivan stayed here!” t-shirts in the gift shop! ;-)

Ryder still has a very caring heart. He wants Teddy to spare Nate’s career. He is so good with Oli. Too bad it’s all externalized and he doesn’t seem to care about himself! ;-) It’s good to see that Mike is a very good cop. Very professional. He's now actually the most mature of the former school friends. ;-)

What a contrast with @Puppilull’s story! Satisfying in a completely different way! (Fewer calories too.) ;-)
  11. I started to think it was chocolate halfway through. I was just a little off. But what did you have on your walls? ;-)
  12. Jamie could leave the Catholic Church and join the Episcopal (Anglican) Church instead…

Or will Levi see this as yet another time when adults didn’t do what they promised him?

I see most of Oli’s impressions of Teddy as being normal sibling behavior. Oli dismisses the good that he sees in Teddy and only remembers the negatives – which get exaggerated since Oli is a teenager. Everything is distorted because they are family! ;-)

In this case size really does matter. My MacBook Pro’s width (girth?) is significantly larger than any phone! You must not have 15.2” to brag about… ;-)

I’m not a smoker or vaper so I’m no expert. I hate the smell of cigarette or pot smoke! But I think when it said ‘bit’, that was a reference to accepting the device itself. ;-)

That’s me too! No manners! Just very rude when something amuses me! ;-)

    Movie Offer

I’ll have to think about it. You know if I had a better title, I’d have already mentioned it! I never hold back on suggestions here! ;-)
  19. I vote for more Michael! He was my favorite character too! I wish my younger brother were more like him. ;-) I loved this! It wasn’t anything even close to how my family interacted! My sister-in-law talked about how scary it was to have eight pairs of eyes staring at her in silence! My older brother was the first to bring home a fiancé to meet the family and my favorite Aunt, Uncle, and cousins were celebrating Thanksgiving with us when she arrived. None of us knew how we were supposed to respond to her. With her help we were much better when others joined the family! ;-)

    Movie Offer

Breathless has already been used as a movie title, although the original French name was À bout de souffle (‘out of breath’). I never saw the original – it came out when I was about a year old, but I think saw the Richard Gere remake. I think a name change would be a good idea. The recent movie about the attempted French train bombing uses the actual three men who prevented the terrorist from carrying out his plans. Many of the train passengers also play themselves. If director Clint Eastwood can do it… ;-)
  22. While it wouldn’t cause me to skip a story, it’s a minor annoyance when an author confuses ‘dominate’ (a verb) with ‘dominant’ (an adjective). They are homonyms or near homonyms for some people. And they’re words that are close enough for me that I do have to sound them out when I write them sometimes. ;-)

Because I'm not reading this on a tiny screen on my phone? ;-)
  25. New Year’s Eve tomorrow? ;-) I think going to feed people at the homeless shelter will mean more to Arabella and the twins than for most people! Most residents at homeless shelters are very happy to see children volunteering. I think it’s a good thing to show kids how important it is to help others. ;-) When I stayed at the Berkeley Men’s Shelter, two guys would bring their young nephews with them when they came to serve dinner. A woman would always bring her very young son with her too. And then there was a group of teenaged boys who would plan the meal, buy the supplies, and prepare the food they served – occasionally that explained the combinations served! ;-) I’m just trying to imagine how Blu and Kyle will cope when the twins start dating! ;-)
