  1. If you're not careful, I'll post my picture. The board will break, the server will crash, and GA will never be seen again.
  2. I started at Nifty and was (many moons ago) solicited by GA to come here and at the time I turned them down. (Why is irrelevant -- that was the past). I found Dude and soon AwesomeDude was born. Bottom line is: I'm hosted at AwesomeDude and second the recommendation. I'm also presently one of the forum mods over there. CodeysWorld http://www.codeysworld.com/ Is another site where you can find some of my stories. This site has very specific requirements as the target audience skews younger. I'm currently the forum mod over at CW. The Doghouse http://www.dabeagle.com is the other one I would recommend. I'm also hosted here. Beagle is the sole mod. While he doesn't update nearly as often there is some FINE stuff here. I allow my stories only to be hosted at sites where I trust the management and after a discussion about my goals as an author and how they match those of the site. I'm picky. I'd rather nobody read what I write than compromise its integrity. I used to post at Nifty and support them financially. I don't anymore. I have issues with the site's terms and conditions now. I won't detail them. But the fact they even read your story shocks me because the stuff I've seen posted lately indicates they really don't even LOOK at the file to see if it contains valid data much less read it. Violence is tricky. I have one VERY violent story. Violent to the point I made the sites interested in it read it and then write me before I'd release a final copy for posting. It's important I be considerate of the sites I use, too. Violence alone isn't bad -- it depends why it's in the story. My particular story (Halfway to Thirty) details a psychopath and his victim's interactions. I like character studies
  3. Canada is awesome. Hockey is awesome. Most Canadians are awesome. "Blame Canada" from South Park is a riot.
  4. Happy Birthday, Rick. I haven't forgotten your evil anti-raccoon comments, though. So don't think you survived another year except by my will and good graces.
  5. If I had my preference, I'd still be using Word Perfect on my Mac. Only it's no longer made and it only runs under OS9. I was using it until about a year ago. I have Word and it's barely tolerable. I use OpenOffice to show my scorn at MicroSloth. However it's not any better than Office -- just slower but cheaper. Word/OO make everything I want to do unnecessarily complex and very unwieldy.
  6. There's a simple, FAR more pessimistic answer. I call it "realistic": People Suck.
  7. People, as a rule, are self-centered. I know I am often. I just need to find someone compatible with that because I'd love to be happy forever. I have nobody. Ever. Blech.
  8. "For ever and ever" <--- this one
  9. Throw the arse in jail.
  10. First, he's feeling guilty about what happened which is why he's avoiding you. In future, you have an idea why it's a good idea to save sex until you're sure you both ready. Sex changes all relationships. You can count on that. Second, here's some advice because nobody's actually given you anything I see as useful. You're looking for a solution. That really needs to come from within you. But in absence of that, here's what the raccoon recommends since you can't have a talk. If you can't get him on the phone, you'll have to e-mail him. You need to let him (a) know how you feel, avoiding the L word at first and ( let him know you don't want to lose him as a friend. That sounds easy. It's not. You need to realize that keeping him as a friend may mean losing him as a lover. Which is more important to you? You need to decide that before you open your mouth. As for me, I would rather be friends with someone like you've described. Real friends who are always there for you forever are damn near impossible to find. Everyone THINKS they have them but when a real crisis develops you find out who is still there (usually nobody). Get YOUR head together first and figure out what you want because you've got to decide, communicate that decision, and live with the consequences. That, sir, is what your good friends should tell you. Good friends give you advice you don't want to hear and don't pull punches. I will now go crawl back into my cave.
  11. It is now coming out that the girl's mother prompted her to name him as the father for the money it would generate from selling the story. Then again, this story has so many twists and turns one might wait a bit. I'm sure there's more.
  12. I dunno. I suspected when I was really young -- pre-pubescent. But I didn't really get it until later on. I just wasn't overly interested at first.
  13. Well his girlfriend is certainly a slag. The kid looks like him I think.
  14. Nice photos
  15. I wish athletes knew to STAY retired. (Or when to quit.)

Good luck with your daemon, er, I mean mother. Seriously.
  17. Nice story and thanks for sharing.
  18. A nice post. I liked it
  19. That appears to be a picture of a constipated goat, best as I can tell. I'm sure my account will be banned for posting this
  20. I dunno. I wouldn't allow anyone else to take my photo nude (well there's ONE person) but I'd take my own photo -- assuming my camera lens didn't break. I'd share it even with one or two people I trust. The problem here is it was done randomly, over the internet. And someone you love may one day no longer be someone you love. Will you trust them after the love is gone. Oh yeah. I get offers of photos from readers. I turn them down without exception.
  21. The fact it's even an issue sickens me. Who cares? It ain't nobody's business but the two involved parties.
  22. I'm older than most of you and I am (according to this article) way the hell ahead of the curve. If they think twice a week is frequent, I am (apparently) the foremost expert on the subject in the universe. Idjits.
  23. I vote "No effing way" because they always screw it up and piss me off. There are a few exceptions but mostly no.
  24. Everyone should be this lucky.
