  1. i had to smile when I was sent this email. For those who haven't heard, Washington State just passed two laws simultaneously....... Legalization of gay marriage AND marijuana. Gay marriage and marijuana were legalized on the same day which makes perfect biblical sense now because Leviticus 20:13 says "If a man lies with another man they should be stoned." We just hadn't interpreted it correctly before!
  2. A great question, but I believe there is no single way to answer it. The wants of readers differ and are subjective in nature. Some love to build images in their mind of what's happening, while for others the priority is the storyline. The quality of the description will also affect the necessary quantity. Another big part of the answer to the question comes from your reason for writing. If it's for self expression and personal satisfaction then your own likes and standards set the criteria for the best mix of storyline and description. If you are writing for specific types or groups of readers then you might develop an understanding of the likes and wants of a group and use description accordingly. If you are writing generally then you can never please everyone, as one man's meat is another man's poison.

ATTUNGA Part 20. *** “I go away for six days and when I get back I think I must have come to the wrong place! What's going on?” The returned Comet was docked and after the flurry of reunion the trio was sitting in a transit lounge to take stock. There'd been an exchange of messages while Thom was travelling of course, the highlight of which had been his excited transmission just after the Comet reached the turning point one and a half light hours away and broken every speed record existing in

  9. That's a clue??? That laugh of yours came across with a slightly evil undertone - lol. The first thing I thought of was a movie where an author enacted a murder in real life exactly matching the plot of his novel. That's not it though.

    Chapter 19

Wanna is definitely within reach, way before the 200 year future of the story. So too the self-cleaning pool. The grav-sofa is a different order of request as gravity control is very much a leap of faith on my part. It was needed though for the habitats to function. Intelligence? - I could offer you an implant though there is a bit of a wait, and I seriously doubt the deficiency claim. Villainous is a great word. Thanks again Stephen.

    Chapter 19

  22. Oh My! I feel like I'm responding to a professional critic. Thanks for all your time and effort with this. I really feel as if you've thought about the structure of the story more than I have. I think some of your comments have already been covered in my reply to fmd. I would have to emphasise that reality and the events in the story are very much at odds. The story was purposefully written as your 'feel-good story', with situations resolving in an ever so happy manner, and with my attempts at humor thrown in. I'm with you in your comments about the ending. I had the same feeling that it wasn't quite a match for the rest of the story, but not having a 'traditional' type of 'what happened to them' ending didn't feel right to me. Yes,there were numerous characters and situations which weren't developed, particularly Andy. I had a plethora of ideas about him, but they were more adversarial and not matching the tone of DTT. At any rate. I'm delighted that you gained enjoyment from my work. Best wishes and thanks for your consideration. Iarwain.
