  1. I’m sorry but Chase does raise a very valid point about long distance relationships. I’ll be honest, they rarely ever work. Been there done that, have the t-shirt, mugs etc. Couple that with him having SAD & you’re asking for trouble. Let’s put it this way, I’m guessing you’d like to be around him most of the time, and I imagine he feels the same way. Now that winter has reared its head, he’s probably feeling a multitude of emotions, probably 10 fold than in the summer months. Not only is he dealing with SAD & its effects, but also likely is that the distance between you is bringing him down as well. Perhaps his detachment is his way of coping with it, that would make perfect sense. I can only explain this from my own experience though, everyone is different. When I was involved with a guy in a LDR the emotional turmoil was profound. I’d want to see him every other day, not just for sex…though that was good, but for the emotional aspect as well. To not see him for months on end just about drained me. I need that closeness to someone I love, & not to have it was both emotionally exhausting but affected me physically as well. Not everyone is the same, but if your guy is feeling even half of what I did, then his actions are perfectly understandable given his condition. There is no magic wand here, all you can do is give him the space he needs and let him work through this in his own time. If you push too hard then expect a nasty backlash, give him time and he may surprise you.
  2. Title: Chapter 1 Reviewer: Rilbur A short, depressing piece that's the perfect way to make a depressing week (there are now 8 days left before my job vanishes into the sucking void known as 'the exonomy'). Other that, well written and skillfully executed, and if I weren't already in a black mood it'd be a great, rather than good, read. Date: 07/17/2009 07:44 PM [Respond] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Chapter 1 Reviewer: Emulated I can only echo everyone else's words in that this was a very beautiful piece. Indeed it is dark, but once coupled with humour and precision, you have yourself a fantastic story. Good job! Date: 06/22/2009 10:24 AM [Respond] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Chapter 1 Reviewer: DavyBoi This for me is an inspired piece of writing. Very dark and cynical in its tone, then BAM it hits you with a sucker punch at the end. It's very rare that I shed a tear, but for this I made an exception. Date: 06/13/2009 01:12 PM [Respond] Title: Chapter 1 Reviewer: ThePhallocrat There was a sudden unexpected twist in tone... wrenching my heart right along with it. Ouch. I need a hug now. Good job sucking me in. Excellent piece. All those in 675 words. It doesn't get any better than that. It did make me chuckle in places despite it's somewhat sombre tone. Well done. Well done. Date: 06/11/2009 10:50 AM [Respond]
  3. Title: The Beginning Reviewer: Gay_In_Flanders Ah, some more of DF's work! I'm starting to become your biggest fan here. Again looking forward to the next chapter! Date: 07/26/2009 09:44 AM [Respond] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Aftermath Reviewer: Rilbur A fun story, even if I am starting to wonder if I should track down the author of a certain popular vampire series and murder them, messily, to get revenge for all the vampire stories I'm running into now. Date: 07/17/2009 07:38 PM [Respond] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 07/09/2009 10:03 AM Title: Aftermath Reviewer: brilledelune I'm loving this story very much, then again I'm sucker for a gay bloodsucker..lol Author's Response: Hi brilledelune, thanks for the comments and review. More bloodsucking, amongst other things, coming your way very soon! ) Date: 06/03/2009 05:16 AM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Aftermath Reviewer: Cuba Libre I have just come across this story, and am drawn in already. The detail you put in almost makes it as if you're there yourself. Wonderful story so far. Author's Response: Hi Cuba, thanks for the review and the comments. Glad you're enjoying the ride so far. ) Date: 05/28/2009 10:33 AM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Aftermath Reviewer: Phoenix I like the joke about using a phone. Gary may still be in shock, but it seems like he's blindly following again. Just when he had a good mad going, it just disappears. Author's Response: Mmm, I have to disagree. If you note the first section of the story and I quote: "I knew then, that I would have to bury my fears and face whatever was to come. If I didn’t, whatever was inside me could explode again, and next time I, or whoever was around me, may not be so lucky." He knows what happened last time he got mad and the thought of hurting or even killing someone, especially Matt, because it got out of control frightens him. Trust me, none of it sits well with him at all, as was explained in the latter stages. But the thought of hurting Matt again has made him grit his teeth and bear it, for now Date: 05/27/2009 08:26 PM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Aftermath Reviewer: DavyBoi I had to laugh at the phone comment as well, wish I could do that. Yet another amazing chapter. More meat on the bones & interesting twist with him gaining abilities like that. Like it. Author's Response: Thanks Davy. As I said previously, I thought it was important to get what he can do into the open, so the story can move on. Glad you're enjoying it anyway. ) Date: 05/27/2009 07:50 PM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Aftermath Reviewer: Sir Galahad Another excellent chapter in what is fast becoming one of my favourite stories on here. A lot of questions answered, but a lot of things left wide open. All I can say is that he's got some serious training down the road. Rather him than me! lol. Well done. Author's Response: Thanks for the review! Yeah, it is going to be tough for him, but he realises what he has to lose if he doesn't do it. I certainly don't think he wants that ability going off again any time soon! Date: 05/27/2009 05:53 PM Title: Aftermath Reviewer: David McLeod "Don’t these people ever use phones?" No, and that's the least of their differences. What a grand story! This chapter gives us some important background while opening endless possibilities. (And as far as phones are concerned...I'd be selling my Nokia stock if I lived in this world.) Author's Response: Thank-you David for your review. I felt it was important to put the cards on the table as it were, regarding Gary's abilities, and then leaving the door open for some interesting developments later on. Date: 05/27/2009 05:18 PM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Revelations Reviewer: David McLeod Gary's "voyage of discovery" is taking place on some very choppy seas, which makes the few moments of calm all the more important. It may come as a kick in the teeth to him when he learns something new about himself, but it's a real kick for the reader, as well. The mix of modern and medieval--computers, swords, Lords and a Seneschal in blazer in slacks--is excellent. Author's Response: Thanks David for the review. He is having a time of it lately, but is it going to get any better? Eventually...maybe! I thought the mix of modern and medieval as you put it, was important to this storyline. House Crane is over 2000 years old, so obliterating all that history with no reference to the past made no sense to me. Plus it allows me to delve into one of my favourite subjects a little later on in the story. Date: 05/12/2009 08:25 AM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: The Beginning Reviewer: Draigen I like your writing style, it really cuaght me. but I won't be reading on after this chapter. I'm not one for vamire stories. Sorry, but keep the good writing up Author's Response: Thanks for the review! Date: 05/09/2009 10:48 AM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Revelations Reviewer: DavyBoi I can only mirror what's been said already. Fantastic chapter, packed with everything. Amazing. Author's Response: Thanks for the comments, it's always pleasing to know people are enjoying the story. Date: 05/08/2009 04:20 PM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Revelations Reviewer: Phoenix Now that was a truly amazing chapter!! Author's Response: Thanks for the review! This was my favourite to write so far, so I'm glad you enjoyed it. Date: 05/08/2009 04:04 PM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Revelations Reviewer: Sir Galahad Wow, where did that come from & I’m not talking about the cliffhanger! Lol. Great chapter and a little more of the mystery solved, but even more created. You’ve created great interaction between Matt & Gary, and I totally got Gary’s anger at the end of the chapter, but didn’t see the result coming at all. His frustration has been subtly building up since chapter 2, and what a way to let it go! I wonder if that’s one of the talents that have been hinted at. Be certainly interesting to find out. Grrr, so many questions I also liked the way you handled his first feeding, where he was so hungry he didn’t see a person, only food. I wonder if he’s lost his humanity as well; poses an interesting question. Can’t wait for chapter 4 now. Author's Response: Thanks for the review Galahad. I'm pleased you liked this chapter, because this has been my favourite to write so far. I see you picked up Gary's building angst; but it was bound to come to a head sooner or later. As for what exactly happened, well that answer is in chapter 4. ) The first feeding was something I worried about, so a lot of thought went into it. It was like any starving man, they don't care what they eat, as long as the hunger is sated. The same principle applied here. Date: 05/08/2009 01:26 PM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Initiation Reviewer: David McLeod There's a lot of exposition; but, there's also a lot of information the reader needs to know. Normally, I'd suggest stretching it out, but this story is moving too fast to do that, and I don't want to be left in the dust wondering. Having an innocent, "ordinary and plain" begin the protagonist's education in the somewhat macabre situation in which he finds himself is pure brilliance. I felt his confusion, disbelief, fear, lust, and hunger. That's a lot for one chapter! Author's Response: Thank-you David for your comments. There was an awful lot to cram in, and by all accounts, a lot more has yet to come. But hopefully the reader can catch a breather after Chapter 4!! ) Having the kid do his induction as it were, seemed the most plausible in my head at the time, so I'm glad that's worked out. Date: 05/08/2009 06:47 AM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: The Beginning Reviewer: taina1959 Yep, I agree with everyone, a Vampire with a twist! The suspense, love and caring speak volumes! And what a cliffhanger!! Those must be Katrina's people coming for Gary! Impatiently waiting for more! Bring on Chapter 3! Author's Response: Thanks for the review! I think you'll find there are a few more twists in this story yet to come, so prepare to be surprised. As for the cliffhangers, I know you love them!! ) Date: 04/26/2009 02:23 PM Title: Initiation Reviewer: Sir Galahad What I like about this story, especially after this chapter, is how you have totally thrown the vampire handbook out the window. I never guessed the light walker ability at all, with the extras attached. Now the title makes sense. I like the soul bonded element, rather than boy meets boy & falls instantly in love, very well done. I was worried for a second it was going to be stereotypical. Katrina has me intrigued I have to say, you keep teasing us with that side, but still I'm hanging on wanting more. Author's Response: I wanted to do something totally different to what was already out there. Sometimes I got frustrated at stories which re-hashed the same thing over and over again. That's where the idea for this came from. Don't get me wrong, there are truly exceptional vampire stories out there, GFD to name just one. But I hope that I've brought something a little different to the table. Date: 04/26/2009 11:48 AM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Initiation Reviewer: DavyBoi I for one am really enjoying this story. Your not repeating the same vampire thing over again, for which I am thankful. I feel from the hints you subtly drop, there are a few more surprises to come. Really am looking forward to them. Bring on chapter 3. Author's Response: Thank you. The whole point of writing this story was to get away from the stereotypes as it were, to maybe put a new twist on things. It's not going to please purists I know, but I hope the folks out there are enjoying it so far. Yeah, the surprises aren't over with just yet, have a few more up my sleeve. Date: 04/26/2009 04:11 AM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Initiation Reviewer: Phoenix He seems to be accepting it far too well. Author's Response: Believe me, I did toy with the whole angst thing & even put in a large segment that dealt with it. But, it didn't fit & certainly didn't feel right to me, hence it was deleted. He's soul bonded with this guy, everything else is secondary. That's why he feels so comfortable around him, why he doesn't run & if you remember, why he didn't reject him in the first chapter! He subconsciously chose to accept this and to give up freely his mortality. So given that, any reluctance, I feel, wouldn’t have made sense. Date: 04/25/2009 10:24 PM Title: The Beginning Reviewer: Phoenix Wow. That was such an amazing story! I so cannot wait for chapter 2. The ending was just so.... intriguing. I'm wondering who they all were now. I think it'd be cool if Gary showed up with his new bf to make the ex jealous. Author's Response: Thanks, though I feel you were disappointed with chapter 2! Michael does turn up in CH3, and let’s just say....it's an interesting encounter. ) Date: 04/21/2009 10:19 PM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: The Beginning Reviewer: DavyBoi Great start, especially for your first attempt. Defiantly want chapter 2. Date: 04/10/2009 05:39 PM [Respond] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: The Beginning Reviewer: David McLeod For a first attempt at writing for an online audience, you're off to a good start. The story arc is solid. While the characters are still a bit transparent, they're also off to a good start. The cliché of a failing relationship that begins Chapter 1 is rescued by the mystery and suspense in the last few lines. By all means, bring on Chapter 2! Date: 04/09/2009 08:16 AM [Respond] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: The Beginning Reviewer: taina1959 I had a feeling when I read the title but wasn't sure until the end,,, I really like where you're going with your story!!! Definitely want chapter 2! Let me know if you need it edited. Author's Response: Yeah, am getting that a lot with the title, but there is more to it as you will see in forthcoming chapters. If your serious about the editing, could you e-mail me & let me know. Tnx. Thanks again for the positive comments. Date: 04/08/2009 09:26 PM
  4. Title: Chapter 1: Détente Reviewer: Myr a great start! Date: 07/26/2009 03:23 PM [Respond] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Prologue Reviewer: Gay_In_Flanders I'm completely STUNNED by the effort you've put into this! Your writing is so fluent and it just feels as if you're really there. Looking VERY much forward to the next chapter! Date: 07/25/2009 07:19 PM [Respond] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Chapter 1: Détente Reviewer: Dolores Esteban This is a fascinating and emotionally touching tale, very well written and with beautiful images. The story drew me in quickly. I relate to Taral and I'm curious to read more. A very good beginning. Date: 07/18/2009 05:54 AM [Respond] -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Chapter 1: Détente Reviewer: Rilbur The begginings of a fascinating story, and I can hardly wait to see where this goes! Date: 07/17/2009 09:04 PM [Respond] ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Chapter 1: Détente Reviewer: DavyBoi Fantastic chapter, you're certainly getting a hold of this writing business!! Kidding. In all honesty that was inspired, truly beautiful description when he's using magic and little hints here and there to keep us guessing. Can't wait for chapter 2 now. Author's Response: You're too kind! lol. If I didn't keep you guys guessing you'd be bored very quickly. Thanks for the comments, appreciated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Date: 07/13/2009 04:01 AM Title: Chapter 1: Détente Reviewer: Nephylim This is really good. I can't wait for chapter two. No, I mean it I CAN'T wait so bloody well get writing. I love your style and the complexity of the story is delicate but strong at the same time. Excellent start. I really am looking forward to getting more Author's Response: Thanks for the review! I'm writing as quickly as my fingers are able, but it shouldn't be too long as three quarters of chapter 2 is already written. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 07/11/2009 03:28 PM Title: Chapter 1: Détente Reviewer: ThePhallocrat I wanted more of this story, and I was not disappointed. I enjoyed the new character and the additional details. Keep it up! Author's Response: Thanks for the review. Glad you're enjoying the story so far. ) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 07/11/2009 09:19 AM Title: Chapter 1: Détente Reviewer: Cuba Libre Now that was a great chapter. I particularly liked the visuals at the beginning. Most excellent. Itching for Chapter 2 now. Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I hope I don't keep you waiting too long for the second chapter. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 07/10/2009 08:38 AM Title: Chapter 1: Détente Reviewer: David McLeod The world DragonFire has created is consistent, and that's absolutely essential to this story. The story is following a clear and fascinating arc. Taral is a solid character...who shows a remarkable burst of maturity in this chapter. The description of his magical search of his surroundings was lyric. His enemies' motivation, the intrigue, his anger...all contribute to the realism. A wonderful story! Author's Response: Thanks David for the review. A great compliment indeed. Consistency and descriptive passages I feel are essential to this story. I want the reader to visualise a world they are not familiar with so they can better understand the story, so expect more of the same in forthcoming chapters. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 07/10/2009 06:47 AM Title: Chapter 1: Détente Reviewer: Sir Galahad Excellent. This chapter certainly lays the groundwork for what I imagine is going to be explosive second chapter. I would never have guessed that a Makriam mage would have been his ally and a cute one no less. Is this the start of something more I wonder? There is some wonderful imagery here, in the style we have so become used to from you. Very well done indeed. Author's Response: Is it the start of something I hear you ask? Well that's a topic for another time, but as has been pointed out there is some chemistry between them. Watch this space! ) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Date: 07/10/2009 05:12 AM Title: Prologue Reviewer: ThePhallocrat Definitely a promising beginning, echoing classic adventure tales but with your own unique twist. When can we expect more? Author's Response: Thanks for the review! The next chapter is finished, but it won't be posted until maybe the second week in July. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I am unable to post it sooner. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 06/15/2009 12:13 PM Title: Prologue Reviewer: blackrose214 hey there! This sounds like agreat start and I`d loe to read more soon! Author's Response: Hi blackrose, thanks for the comments and review! The next chapter is work in progress, but hopefully I won't keep you waiting too long. ) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 06/01/2009 12:12 PM Title: Prologue Reviewer: Cuba Libre I like where you seem to be taking this story & certainly the first few lines caught my imagination straight away. I'm certainly curious as to what this Heart of the Dragon is. Author's Response: Thanks for the kind words, really pleased you're liking the story so far. More to be revealed in the next chapter. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 05/28/2009 12:55 PM Title: Prologue Reviewer: DavyBoi I find it hard to believe you've never written anything before your submissions on here, because you have talent man. From vampires to this latest story, the contrast couldn't be more different, but you seem to pull it off effortlessly. Well done, can't wait for the next chapter. Author's Response: Hi Davy, you really made me blush, but thank-you anyway. The next chapter is in hand, and will be out soon. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Prologue Reviewer: David McLeod Some interesting twists make this seemingly familiar story not so familiar, after all. Some wonderful imagery captures the imagination. The first person POV--not to mention the first few sentences--draws the reader in. Author's Response: Thanks David for your kind review! I'm of the opinion that in a story like this, the imagery and description are vital. I just want the readers to get a better idea/feel of the world and characters I've created. I can only hope that I continue to paint that canvass with more colours and detail as the story unfolds. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 05/07/2009 08:06 AM Title: Prologue Reviewer: Sir Galahad I for one really like this story, especially the changes you made from the original. You have great possibilities for this, & I'm looking forward to seeing a lot more. Well done. Author's Response: Thanks for your review. Those changes were already underway when the story first went out, and it seems to have cleared up some grey areas. Thanks again for reading. Date: 05/06/2009 09:40 PM
  5. Happy Birthday!
  6. I'm in the process of counting said cliffhangers, trust me, I may need to borrow someone else's fingers & toes!
  7. I think it's time to finally put to rest this speculation and get the forums TRUE opinion on his goatiness. CJ has protested, badly, that others are more deserving of this award than he is. Now... what do you think?
  8. Hehe. I've always had this fantasy about being seduced by a cop, or vice versa. So keeping things handy is hopefully tempting fate.
  9. Rilber is right, we've all gone through the exact same thing, almost 18 months without posting a damn thing here! lol Good to see you back though.
  10. Are you guys serious?? lol As far as I was aware it was Robbie that wanted to ‘see’ other people, when in fact he had a whole new relationship lined up. That was the catalyst for opening up this whole can of worms Brad I admit is no saint, but there is such a thing as communication & Robbie never voiced these issues with him beforehand. This is no fantasy novel, so mind reading can be instantly discounted! If Robbie was having issues then he should have told Brad, not put his whole relationship on the wire for a cheap piece of ass. Brad is Brad, warts and all. Overbearing, obnoxious & single-minded at times, but even so he has always listened to those he loves. Robbie fell in love with him for who he is, why should Brad think he has to change when no-one has told him any different. Communication is key, and Robbie failed miserably at it.
  11. Nothing wrong with being prepared. I keep a bottle of lube in my car... for emergencies. Do you guys notice something, we talk more about sex in this forum than in any other. I think if we go back far enough we'll have most guys sexual habits down pat!
  12. Couldn't agree more, would be nice to see those 2 settled once & for all. Let's put it this way, Robbie we all agree was a total ass, but there's no doubt he loves Brad. For him to make the same mistake again would be unthinkable, for sure that would be the end their relationship permanently.

    Dirty Poll #6

Been there, done that..and it was HOT.
  14. DragonFire

    Dirty Poll #8

Is true. I've been on both ends & I kinda liked it! However, you have to make you shower real well before hand.
  15. Gave dicks a 10 Hairy balls = 5; would be a zero if they the rain forest down there though! lol Shaved/Waxed balls = 10. Equal favourite along with dick, mostly because I like the smell. Cum: = 8. Depends what they've eaten, Asparagus is the alsolute worst.
  16. All I can say is... ewww!
  17. Belated welcome then! I think you'll fit in perfectly here...most of the guys seem to live in a dreamworld anyway.
  18. Well, I'd never marry or enter into a commitment cerimony (which in UK is almost legally the same thing) without love... whatever the benefits are. Once you have that partner though, then why not take the benefits as well.
  19. Happy Birthday Benji!
  20. I'll say. The lengths the ole goat will go to, to try & deflect attention from his own cliffhanger butt! Tsk tsk tsk
  21. Happy Birthday!
  22. I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am to Adam for finishing the story & to John for sharing part of his life with us to bring ISWB to a conclusion. Both tragic & moving, this is something I will always remember for the rest of my life. How painful it was for you to remember and re-live those times I cannot imagine, nor will I try. In the end the love was beautiful and that’s what’s important. God Bless.
  23. Why am I not surprised! lol The woman who will shag anything with a pair of tight buns & a pulse... remind you of anyone?
  24. I wondered when Lark would finally show himself, and true to form he shows up wanting to help… but with a catch. We shouldn’t be surprised, but I would hardly call it redeeming. I feel he has a long way to go before he crosses that bridge. Still, the information, if authentic, is like gold. Be interesting to see how Brad & Steph use it to their advantage. I can’t help but think this playing around with Cody & Kevin will be toxic, not for Brad more for Robbie. He hasn’t got the best track record & it’s still plausible he’ll get some kinda emotional attachment to one of them. Time will tell I guess.
  25. Happy Birthday!
